I with the help of my lifelong friend,a CPA, filed 4 years of returns all together at the beginning of the pandemic. We applied the other year refunds to the one year I owed and also had expenses for that year (2015). I paid the net of these refunds and expenses applied to 2015. And i paid the interest and penalties with it. They sent me a check back for part of it. $4000. I thought it was a stimulus check. Im happy to pay that back but they want to ignore all my other payments and expenses on that and want me to pay 18000 I don’t know what to do anymore

Yes, but please make sure you qualify for one before going through the trouble of submitting one!
