Best movie ever. My dad saw it during a break day at a drive in with my mom ( war local ). As a child, my dad said 2 me: When you grow up you must see "The Deer Hunter". As a young kid, i saw it in reprise with my dad, mom and sister at S. Jorge cinema/Lisbon. My father was a soldier back in the war just as i become later in my early 20's. There's nothing heroic about war.. nothing. There's nothing beautiful or kind about it. It's pure Hell itself. In the break of the first half of the movie, at the beautiful S. Jorge cinema's bar, in my 12 years old, my dad said 2 me: -This movie is how war is, you know? Suspicious, i said: - But there's so much music in it ! My father replied: - You are right..there is no music in battlefield, but we can ear it. And i... i heard it 2. When i was 17, my dad lost his battle with cancer. The day before he died, he called me and we both liastened "Cavatina" together. Nowadays, i think my father was an artist. Peace, Love.. n' Joy ! ✌
This is one of my dad's favorite instrumental ballads from The Shadows. We used to play this instrumental several times. However, after he died, I thought I would never play this ballad ever again yet here I am still playing this without him. Losing my first bandmate and music teacher was difficult yet life goes on. Thank you, dad, for the music. Rest in peace.
i always get sentimental when hank plays this..that is what his playing does to me and i suspect he has that affect on millions of others..thank u my friend for the many decades of memories and the majesty of your skill🥰
In My mind Hank is was and always will be the very best guitar in the world - Hank and Bruce are from my part of the world - Newcastle in Northeast England - Bruce did live on the same housing estate as I did at one time very young boys - they have been together for more that 60 years, that in it's self is amazing.
for my son:For my Billy (Liddle) theme from Cavatina. Life and love poem. 1975 You are beautiful,. Beautiful, As God’s son, From that moment, I saw you, My life had begun. And did you know, you are wonderful, Just like my God’s own son, Yes, that moment I saw you, My love had begun. You are beautiful, Beautiful, As the sun, And I know you, and loved you, Right from day one. Because you, are, so beautiful, And a treasure, to me, From that moment, I met you, I know that God gave me a dream come true. You are so beautiful, Beautiful, like God’s son, And that moment, I met you, My life had begun. Cause you are beautiful, Beautiful, OH, just like God’s son.
want to learn to play a slow , beautiful melody ?....then study this great guitar player....superb touch and timing....his control of the tremolo arm for singing soulful lines is as good as it gets.....
Listen to Jeff Beck's Cause We Ended As Lovers and tell me Jeff wasn't highly influenced by this amazing man. This is the epitome of tasteful guitar, and proves you don't have to be Gary Moore or Steve Luthaker to play one of the best guitar solos ever played. Screw Clapton. Hank Marvin is God.
@@tombstoneharrystudios584 Read a lot of interviews with Jeff, but never saw him mention it, that I recall. But I am certain you're correct. The influence seems obvious.
Thanks for your comment however you are not entirely right. As well Jeff Beck as Hank Marvin are my all time favourite guitarists but Jeff Beck recorded Cause we've ended as lovers already in 1975 while Hank Marvin recorded Deer Hunter in 1979.

😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Hank Marvin is not God but he loves God. But maybe, he plays the guitar like God
Sorry to say he is God of the Fender Stratocaster
Like he is squeezing the melody out of the guitar ...
Chama-se a isto tratar a guitarra por tu . Brilhante
Thanks for a nice comment.
@@age49 Obrigada vejo que aprecia verdadeiros talentos ...Deus deu-nos vários dons só temos que usar. Cumprimentos

jstnxprsn Beck was a huge fan, he definitely based his style on the ground Hank laid here!

Farewell to the Shadows. Good riddance to the smug Bruce.
