Steven Wright is so hilarious! You very rarely see him have any expression on his face, but every once in a while, you can see him start laughing at his own stuff.
Steven Wright is one of a kind! A joke I recall from some time ago: There's a switch on the wall in my apartment that doesn't do anything. Every time I walk by, I flip it. Yesterday I got a call from a woman in Germany. She said "knock it off."
Some of us are old enough to remember all of these comics debut, on the various talkshows. Steven Wright went from unknown, to fave the very first time I saw him.
I haven't heard Steven Wright in years. Just what I needed after Michael Bolton. Lol His straight guy/no expression/deadpan delivery is part of his routine. He's still with us at the ripe young age of 69.
A good one, “I woke up one morning couldn’t find my favorite socks. I called information on my phone. Told the person on the phone that I couldn’t find my socks. She said, did you look behind the sofa? They were there!”
Steven Wright's lethargic, monotone delivery is part of the reason why his comedy is so good. His humor is not unlike a stand-up version of Gary Larson's "The Far Side" comic. You say you need to watch this video again. Better yet, watch the other four parts. You won't regret it.
Steven Alexander Wright (born December 6, 1955) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and film producer. He is known for his distinctive lethargic voice and slow, deadpan delivery of ironic, philosophical and sometimes nonsensical jokes, paraprosdokians, non sequiturs, anti-humor, and one-liners with contrived situations. Wright was ranked as the 15th Greatest Comedian by Rolling Stone in its 2017 list of the 50 Greatest Stand-up Comics
Saw him live and laughed my butt off for 2 hours straight even though I already knew half his jokes. He's my personal GOAT. Mitch Hedberg is another one liner genius.
One of the most unique and innovative comedians ever….in both content and delivery. He became popular in the eighties, but has gained some celebrity today with younger people via RUclips.
Hey bud! Welcome to the wonderful world of Stephen Wright. He was one of the Boston guys of the 80s, Denis Leary, Colin Quinn, Lenny Clarke, etc. He's been doing this for 40 years and it never gets old. If you like him, you'll love Mitch Hedberg. Love your channel!
When he first started (I think he was on Carson) I loved it. He really used a lot of philosophy at the beginning. He never really made it to the big time. But, he was always funny.
Steven Wright is the master of "Deadpan" comedy. Him and the great Jack Benny, and maybe Bob Newhart as well. They never crack a smile at their own comedy.
He's my favorite. So much so, that if I see someone new reacting, I'll listen and laugh once again. His humor is just THAT funny to me. Do more. Very unique "off the wall" humor! He's from the Boston area. Every once in awhile you see him having a hard time maintaining the"deadpan" and not laugh.
I’ve been a fan since the mid 1980’s!! He just released a book called Harold, which is THAT MIND from the view of a 3rd grader 😂😂😂. I listened on Spotify. He reads it himself! Bonus!!!
He is hilarious! Goes at a very slow pace, even when he's in a interview. Recently he was on Joe Rogan's podcast, I had to increase the speed of a video by a couple to make it sound normal to me
I have always found that I laugh at everything he says just because of his delivery. Half the stuff he says, I don't understand even though I've seen him many times -- unfortunately, not in person. Always been my favorite stand-up comedian. ❤❤❤❤❤
You are right about him having to have Rolodexes full of jokes. He didn’t record much probably so he didn’t have to burn through his material. He released the album, “I Have A Pony” in 1984 and didn’t record again until 2007’s “I Still Have A Pony.”
Great react,bro-- Wright was so unique and hysterical in his approach. Another guy from the 80's that was totally bizarre yet hilarious was Emo Philips. He has material here on y-tube. You'll never hear anything like Emo either.. T
Steven Wright does have a lot of content. Many specials, albums and even some guest spots. His interviews are all great as well. He is still alive and unwell as ever and did a funny online interview just last year on The Rich Eisen Show and he was on Colbert too.
Favorite Steven Wright joke. I went to my grandpa's funeral, and was thinking about the batteries in my remote control. What if they just put him in there backwards.
Too many great jokes & an absolutely hilarious delivery. Loving some of the other jokes being mentioned in comments. I remember one joke when Stephen stated he was cesarean born, but you can't tell it. Although, when he leaves the house, he goes out the window.
One of the best deadpan comics. Other good one liner comics from back then are Rita Rudner and Paula Poundstone. You enjoyed Don Rickles, you would probably enjoy Joan Rivers (Swimming with Sharks is a good one), she didn't care who was offended.
I thinks hes from Boston, Massachusetts or somewhere in Mass. I remember back in the day when he hit the TV talk show circuit people loved him. Hes similar to George Carlins style but his jokes are really thought out and like you said some take a while to process but are crazy funny ! He has that unique style and that really helped his career because nobody other the maybe George Carlin was doing those kind of jokes or mind benders 😂😂😂 Thank you for the video and I'm sure you can find other videos of him out there. Hes also been in a few movies.... thanks again for the video. HAPPY NEW YEAR ✌️😎
He's been in a bunch of movies and TV shows also, like: Natural Born Killers, Reservoir Dogs, Mixed Nuts, Canadian Bacon and probably 20 others. You've probably seen him and didn't even realize it.
Let's Gooo! First 😂TBH I've never seen this before but I'm here for it. Check out some Eddie Murphy clips from Saturday night live. Great reaction and Peace out Steven 🙏 ☮️ ✌️

"I have the world's biggest seashell collection. ... I keep it on beaches all over the world..." -SW
Clever is right! He is Mr. Deadpan. He is unlike anyone else. I am so glad you now know Steven Wright.
Steven Wright is so hilarious! You very rarely see him have any expression on his face, but every once in a while, you can see him start laughing at his own stuff.

Love Steven Wright.
"The other day I couldn't find my socks. So I called information.
She said look behind the couch.
And they were there."
One of my favorites from him:
"I woke up one morning to find that someone had stolen all my furniture and replaced it with exact replicas."
Hahaha 😂
“So, I told my roommate that everything was stolen and replaced with exact replicas and he said, ‘Who are you?’”
The king of the oddball one-liners. He would go on Johnny Carson and have everyone in stitches, including Johnny and Ed and the band.
My favorite of his is when he says "I'd kill for a Nobel Peace prize". Absolute gold!!
My fave is, "Don't you hate it when your foot falls asleep and then it's up all night?"
A good one, “I woke up one morning couldn’t find my favorite socks. I called information on my phone. Told the person on the phone that I couldn’t find my socks. She said, did you look behind the sofa? They were there!”
@@kjr224si It's funny because it's true!
“Curiosity killed the cat, but for a while I was a suspect.” - Steven Wright.
"But on the other hand you have different fingers."
When me and my brother saw him on TV in super-early 80s, it was like "whoa!!!" Felt like a shift against the norm. What a treat.
@@erickent3557 Absolutely!! 💯

Steven Wright- The master of deadpan and straight faced humor. One of my favorites!!!! 😂😂😂🔥

Speaking of unique,, odd & funny,, A MUST SEE/HEAR comedian,, "Emo Phillips Has Self Destructive Tendencies"
Most of the jokes are made funnier by his delivery of them,I found him hilarious when he was on the Johnny Carson show too.
I went to a restaurant that said, "Breakfast Served Anytime," so I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance.
🤣😂🤣
Steven has been making me laugh for a long time. I don't know how he doesn't crack up himself!
He said I went fishing with Salvador Dali. He used a dotted line....caught every other fish. 😐
I watched a fairly recent video of Steven Wright. He looked a lot older but still has that same deadpan delivery. He's a gem!
"Yesterday I... Oh, no... That wasn't me."
SO LOVE THIS GUY!!! Makes ya THINK...and: SO FUNNY!!! 😂😂😂😂
In 1980, Steven Wright won an award for the Best comedy deadpan.
Yeah, Steven is a genius. Check out ALL of his stuff.
I love Steven Wright! One sticks in my mind: I went ice skating yesterday...on the other side of the ice
I went to the convenience store and the guy was locking up. I said, "Your sign says Open 24 hours." He said, "Not in a row."
I’ve heard others mention him! Definitely have to check him out! Thanks! 😁
The one of his that I can always remember is: "I got spot remover on my dog...now he's gone."
Steven Wright has long been my favorite comedian. I'm so glad you've been introduced to him. Try Judy Tenuta for another different type of comedian.
When he first started (I think he was on Carson) I loved it. He really used a lot of philosophy at the beginning. He never really made it to the big time. But, he was always funny.
He's so freaking funny 😂 I'm so happy to have grown up with him! ❤ Definitely a crazy mind!
So unique and hilarious! 🤣
Steven Wright is the master of "Deadpan" comedy. Him and the great Jack Benny, and maybe Bob Newhart as well. They never crack a smile at their own comedy.
Don’t forget about Rodney Dangerfield

Only Boston could produce a Steven Wright.
I’ve been a fan since the mid 1980’s!! He just released a book called Harold, which is THAT MIND from the view of a 3rd grader 😂😂😂. I listened on Spotify. He reads it himself! Bonus!!!
oh, Dude, Steven Wright is like nothing ever..... the absolute deadpan delivery of the most insane.... yet sane. Genius.
Thanks for the reaction!! One of my favorites.
He is hilarious! Goes at a very slow pace, even when he's in a interview. Recently he was on Joe Rogan's podcast, I had to increase the speed of a video by a couple to make it sound normal to me
Oh my! I loved Stephen Wright's "I Have a Pony" routine. Lol. He had such a unique sense of humor & delivery.😂
I have always found that I laugh at everything he says just because of his delivery. Half the stuff he says, I don't understand even though I've seen him many times -- unfortunately, not in person. Always been my favorite stand-up comedian. ❤❤❤❤❤

Being high helps understand more of the jokes😁
I’m sure! 🤣
Being smart helps just as much.
If you ever watch the movie Resevoir Dogs he’s the voice on the radio. He was also the pilot in the movie So I Married an Axe Murderer.
"It's a small world --- but I wouldn't want to paint it." -- Steven Wright
Haha 😂 Genius!!
Someone asked me if I knew what time it was. I said, "Yes, but not right now."
He's one of the funniest comedies. Still waiting to see him live
Great react,bro-- Wright was so unique and hysterical in his approach. Another guy from the 80's that was totally bizarre yet hilarious was Emo Philips. He has material here on y-tube. You'll never hear anything like Emo either.. T
Steven Wright is hilarious. One of my favorites. Check out Richard Pryor Youngstown Mafia bit. It's about a time working in my hometown in Ohio.
Steven Wright does have a lot of content. Many specials, albums and even some guest spots. His interviews are all great as well. He is still alive and unwell as ever and did a funny online interview just last year on The Rich Eisen Show and he was on Colbert too.

I always remember Steven Wright as Guy on Couch in the Dave Chappelle movie Half Baked.
Genius.
He's one of my favorites! Thanks!
The one and only Steven Wright! The is no one like him.
I love Steven Wright and then later I liked Mitch Hedberg - similar style.😊😂

Priceless. The world's introduction to an iconic comedian.
Too many great jokes & an absolutely hilarious delivery. Loving some of the other jokes being mentioned in comments. I remember one joke when Stephen stated he was cesarean born, but you can't tell it. Although, when he leaves the house, he goes out the window.
I don't know how much of it is on RUclips, but his "I Have A Pony" album is just as solid.
I saw him in concert in the 90’s. An hour and a half was too much to process. I checked out after about 25 minutes.
🤣😂🤣
Dude went to my college and did a convocation my sophomore year.
Gilbert Godfrey is another unique presentation 😉👍💕
One of the best deadpan comics. Other good one liner comics from back then are Rita Rudner and Paula Poundstone. You enjoyed Don Rickles, you would probably enjoy Joan Rivers (Swimming with Sharks is a good one), she didn't care who was offended.

Half baked guy on the couch
Look for his "Street interviews."
Will do! Thanks for the suggestion!
In some ways he's like David Allen the Irish comic 😅😅😅😅😅
Steven Wright is one of the OG one liners. Mitch Hedberg is another one liner comic who is great, don’t know if you’ve seen him.
I haven’t checked him out yet. Quite a few people have suggested him though! Have a great one! 😁
He's been in a bunch of movies and TV shows also, like: Natural Born Killers, Reservoir Dogs, Mixed Nuts, Canadian Bacon and probably 20 others.
You've probably seen him and didn't even realize it.
For those of you who have seen Half Baked, Steven Wright was the guy on the couch.
I thought it was the funniest thing when he played the guy on the couch in Half Baked.
If you've seen the movie Reservoir Dogs he does the voice of the radio DJ
