In this video I complete the "Temple of Pain" Mutation Mission in StarCraft 2 on Brutal, using an army composition based around primarily Archons and Cannons.
The hardest wars are those of attrition. The temple is under siege, minerals can be difficult to harvest, and Amon's army is both resilient and fanatical. Hold out as long as you can, and hope it is enough.
Mineral Shields: Mineral clusters at player bases are periodically encased in a shield which must be destroyed for gathering to continue.
Barrier: Enemy units gain a temporary shield upon the first time they take damage.
Avenger: Enemy units gain increased attack speed, armor, and life when nearby enemy units die.

Happy to be back on Coop, we didn't manage to pull off the mass archons strat sadly (Artanis's archons are sooo bad in this one, storms deals almost no damage). But we still had a great game. GG :)

A very tricky Mutation mission... Especially least when you play a silly strategy. Great strategy suggestion! Keep them coming.
LowkoTV wait does that mean that every time there is an easier mutation your gonna be doing it with some of those crazy strategies... (sounds good :)
Avenger+Void Rifts+Alien Incubation= Unbeatable
Or swap out void rifts with that one where they auto upgrade to higher tiers of units. That'd probably be worse
Dehaka+Stukov works out perfectly though, brutal done on first try

Probably a future mutator: enemy units ignore player units and go straight for mission objectives :D

Nuke mutator + laser drill. Laser drill ignores your units and will focus the temple.

Abather & Vorazun. I win this week mutation on second try.
don't go with low damage, high attack speed units like BC/ carriers/ marines, since a slight increase in enemy armor will significantly decrease your damage output
best go with high damage units like swann siege tanks, nova liberators, dts, ascendants, that sort
Mass BCs.
Ascendants will stomp this mission as they deal high single target spell damage.
Same with nova ghosts (I think)
Spell damage is not affected by armor at all.
air stukov is great if you can micro

Well let's start, I was Shisui on Warcraft 3's bnet, that transformed to "Sushi" as Twitch account, but Azure is the name I use in mostly everything now. Hopefully this will clear out some confusion xD.

Mutation nearly killed Lowko 3 in a row? No brutal chance for me.
i think focusing the hybrids first is the best idea, that way they cant get the avenger buffs

It was so funny when my Stukov couldn't deal any damage at all lol and they were just literally blocking the enemy with their bodies until my team kill em hahahaha

that was the hardest mutation for me this far
Very tricky on the endgame. But with Abby's mass Toxic nests and Viper's Disabling cloud, it is kinda easy ... LOL
Challenge: Blindness. No detectors. If your unit or commander can deal damage to the cloaked unit without detecting it's fine but no scans or mass structures.
Lowko, could we do maybe mass creeper and swarm host? On a defensive mutation?
I found mass archon hard on normal brutal, can imagine this being a nightmare :P

In theory, darchons are perfect for this mutation. It doesn't matter how buffed an enemy is, mind control will instantly take it out of the fight (provided it's not a hybrid)
Heck, mind control might not even trigger the avenger mutation.

Lowko, you don't use dark pilons. It's mistake. 2 dark pilons can make allie's army faster.

Anything with high damage output is great against Avenger. Void Rays are solid.

I tried it like 3x at the end abathur full ravager/nest build with a dehaka partner the plan was to hold the enemy before the timer and well on 500 temple hp timer went down to 0 :D it was kinda hard, But the full nest build was awesome in early game, like we passed 5-10 minute just by nests xd

Nope. Heroic units are immune to darchon spells
I think you picked those units just so you can have two thumbnails in a row of a Dark Archon and a regular Archon
I think I lucked out pretty badly. On one of the wheel of misfortune missions, I got avengers, aggressive deployment, missile command, just die, and Black Plague in the same mission
Just die + avengers means enemies will die twice, and therefore BUFF EACHOTHER twice.

target firing the hybrids and then mindcontrolling the most powerfull just to get rid of them would have helped
dehaka (strong units plus dehaka soaks up damage) and swann (cheap defense structures) are good combo ... i won it the first try

Hardest part of this mutation was finding a decent ally.
should have focused down the hybrid before the zealots I think, because he's already a large enough threat to begin with, giving him buffs is just asking for trouble.

stalwart56k they don’t works with it. Dark archons only with they abilities are best: conclusion and mind control + regular damage. A specially against carriers ;)
I think they change "The Mineral Shield" into neutral unit, is mean all turret can't auto attack that mineral shield unless you manual attack order them.
but I think if you build some turret near the mineral close enough, this shield won't pop up on some mineral near the turret?
I wonder, why dark archont's aren't morphed from dt like in broodwar?

Vorazun' DTs are insanely cheap, and turning 2 of them into a darchon would be super strong. (Only 250/150, same as a voidray)

Did this one as Vorazun(dt+da) + Dehaka and Vorazun + Abathur (the last was much easier).
also should start attacking normally then mind control the surviving units taking them out of the play immediately instead of mind controlling units from the get-go..

Mind blast is not affected by armor, so the increased armor from the mutation is entirely useless.
Also, ascendants are fantastic in defense maps, as the enemy has to come into your range and will get blasted.
using shadowguard to clear rocks ...... and you claim that his solar bombardament might not have Worth it ... XD

TEST YOUR MACRO WITH MASS........ phoenix on artanis, and you can only use your first and second ability ;)
and your teammate (ifyou play with like sushi) he has to go mass immo/stalker
use your hotkeys for top panel abilities please. makes you look like a noob not doing so ;)
