- This a video showing the full detailed disassembly of the Savage/Stevens 350 Pump or any Ithaca M37 or Model 37 pump shotgun. The reason for a complete dis assembly is to refinish the shotgun in the Desert Sand Air Dry Cerakote and make it totally awesome so check back for that video in a week or so. Hopefully this video will be helpful in increasing your knowledge of weapons, specially the knowledge or the Ithaca M37 which was one of the first pump shotguns ever created. Thanks and Leave me a comment.

Great video, I have a model 350 Stevens shotgun and all I did to clean the gun was remove the barrel and clean the barrel. Now with your video I can do a detail clean. Thanks!!
Thanks, quick explanation and easy to understand.
Great how-to vid. I don't have one of these but I thought the use of the tweezers to help compress the two detents simultaneously was ingenious of you. Necessity is definitely the mother of invention! jr
This is a great reference video; I'm going to use this video as a resource the next time I clean my Stevens 350 Security Model. I managed to bag a squirrel in a tree with this gun, even with the short barrel and no choke tube whatsoever.
I have this shotgun as well. It's cool to see a full disassembly vid on it. I love the fact that you said Twizzlers, lol. Awesome!!!
Nice.. I Got A Coupla 37s.. And The 350 is a Double OpRod System Where My 37s are Single.
thanks for the video. this is a great gun ive shot 1000s of rounds out of it with no problems
I just finished. Thank you, bro.
glad to help
Excellent video! Thanks.
Thanks for the vid! Helped me out with cleaning all the packing grease out.
Great job!!!! Very Detailed!!!!!!!!! Thanks
did you have to cut holes into the rubber buttstock to get to the screws? cuz with mine there are no screw holes?
Thanks for the great instructional video!!
This was a very helpful video, I grabbed myself one of these for a good price and decided I really didn't like the hollow stock. Plan is to make myself a stock and pump for it out of some good wood once I get some.
Heads up on a solid stock. You would still have to drill a full length channel through the stock to access the stock retaining screw.
5th ID Appreciate it, but I ended up selling the shotgun a year or so back. Oh well, I'll get another project gun sometime soon.
awesome video you sir just got a new subscriber
sorry for the late reply. I din't get a chance to even shoot this gun cause I sold it to buy my dream shotgun after only weeks of owning it. I would contact stevens customer service and inform them of the problems I heard they are pretty good at backing their products. If it requires complete dis assembly to fix jam it has a critical malfunction I would not shoot it any more if I was you until they took a look at it.
Late reply, but I had to use a 3/8" socket wrench with an extension. I slid a screwdriver bit into a socket that would hold it snugly and carefully put it down in there. It was hella tight but I got it loose with this method. I also tightened it the same way.
I had the same problem when I first bought my S.A. 350. If you do these two things, the problem (provided it's not a manufacturer's error) should be remedied.
1) Only use 2 3/4" legnth ammo enstead of the full 3". This will give more "play" for the ammo to be ejected.
2) "Pump" the handle hard after each shot. Because the extraction of old shells and the insertion of new ones occurs at the same port, the spent shell must be dispelled "hard" each time to clear the chamber for the new shell.
Very informative, thank you
@zaldivarbigboy Just waiting for the holidays to be over. Promised my family my undivided attention but I'm itching to do one. The P226 is a sewing machine. You have yourself a great New Years and forgot to tell you that the new intro is great. Felicidades!
Life saver! Thanks for the vid!
How do you separate the foreend from the foreend tube... that's what I'm trying to do; trying to put on a wood replacement forearm.
Great Video Thanks, Using this the clean my Norinco YL-12
I have been working on my 350, picked it up in a trade and will be Cerakoting it but I can not get the forened removed. Is there a trick to this? I tried a pair of needle nose and a pair of tweezers, but still can not get it free from the bolt carrier.
I'm having the same issue, looks like they mushroomed out the end of it so you can't loosen it?
Great video!
Good video thanks for the instructions man! I was wondering how it came apart different design compared to my 70's 870.
Good video. Twizzlers… I’ve looked all over and can’t find them.
Does the stock screw come loose clockwise or counter clockwise?
I haven't been able to loosen it so far, it's tight as hell.
Who the hell thought a gun that needs to have its stock removed prior to disassembly was a good idea? How am I supposed to clean it?
@mikeofmo
I was thinking about the safety and on the Stevens its located on the left and work by pressing to the right were on the Ithaca it was located on the right of the gun. So maybe it can be transferred to the other side but I have never tried it. If I do I will let you know.
Thank you for this vid!
I just got this gun the other day the Stevens model 350 and the shell doesn't always get ejected when pulling back on the pump it stays in the chamber? Could it just be because it's so new or something? Love the gun other than that
if you contact stevens customer service they should point you in the right direction.
normally there is a weird nut holding the forend to the tube they sell a tool to remove it but with a flat head screwdriver you can normally get it to budge
Nice video. Ever see any ar style stock or pistol grip for it?
if you're having some continued problems with extractions contact customer service for repair. I hear they're pretty good. good luck
Will a ithaca barrel fit on a stevens 350 i just bought one and i was tryn o put a diifrent barrel on and a tube extension but they dont have any for the stevens but the do for the ithaca so uthink they will fit
Great videos, I will have them loaded and playing when I do my first major breakdown. I saw this shotgun in the store and could not resist it for the price. After about 300 shells both shot and slugs it has gone bang EVERY time I pulled the trigger.
I do have a question that maybe you can answer. I have heard that the safety can be reversed and be functional for a left handed shooter if there is a hole drilled on the opposite side for the detent spring and pin. Have you ever looked at this?
Thank you sir!
i have stevens 520b 12 ga. pump shot gun how do you fix the shell injector
What if there's no play in the trigger mechanism, after removing the butt stock? And the screw doesn't want to come out.
What’s the solution if I can’t get the wiggle in the trigger mechanism?
Good video, this is the first time i have done a bottom eject shotgun so i wanted to see this first. Have you had issues with shells not wanting to eject. About every third round i have to take my barrel off just to get a shell out. I cleaned the whole thing so hopefully it helps but it is after only about two hundred rounds.
cool man Thanks. Time to clean
where do you buy replacement parts for this firearm?
Just one question - what is a twisler?
@ATLSmackdown
I din't but it was very hard to actually see were they were. After I found them and put the screw driver through them it became more obvious and I just took the rubber that was till there out.
Is this the same way for the Steven 320?
My buttstock seems a little loose where it connects to the receiver, how would I tighten it up?
I've followed your video exactly, but when i get to the bolt that holds the trigger assembly in place, it won't back out. it's nice and loose at first, and when i mess with the trigger guard it has the slight "play" that you talk about, but then it just gets real tight and won't back out. I don't want to force it and cause a problem.. any ideas what the issue may be?
There seems to be a QC issue with the Stevens 320 side eject pumper; the spot welds forward on the guide rails where it attaches to the foregrip sleeve collar break.
Did Z or anybody see or know about any similar concerns on the 350?
I see the nut that requires what's called a long shank pin spanner to disassemble the foregrip, but don't want to do it if not necessary. The sliding sleeve over the mag tube is plastic? Yuk! I hope I don't have to get it re-made in metal. Info appreciated, thanks.
@garuda2shamrock
Nothings much the gun would go off and you would have to hold it by the bump only but in theory it should fire just fine without the stock.
Do you know where I can buy a pistol grip for the 350? Thank you
@juanriv01
Hey Juan. How have things been on your side of the world my friend. I been busy as you see making more vids. I still have not seen the video on the P226 you got man. What going on. Keep updated brother. Cuidate Hermano.
Can you remove the slide lock
I wasn't aware twizzlers candy was used to take this shotgun apart.
hope the twisler works okay lol
The trigger bolt won't come out I have no idea why it's loose it just won't slide out
kenny roth roth Make sure the stock is removed from the frame before you take the trigger housing screw out since the stock adds pressure binding the screw in place as well. If the stock is removed then I truly don't know what would be happening give savage customer service a call I"m sure they would be able to walk you through it.
Practical Firearms Yeah the stock is the first thing that goes, like in your video which I don't understand because the first time I took it apart, it was fine and no problems. I'll just take it to a local gunsmith and see what they can do to fix it.
Damn, you should have gotten a 320....much easer to take down.... like night and day......!
This complicated for a pump shotgun dang
How much did you pay for it?
Trigger? I can't get mine back together now. Not really a 'full disassembly' when you stop half way through btw.
How many times has someone made a comment about twizzlers in the last 7 years
The whole reson of me breakingdown n cant cuz the clocking mecanizome not working
yeah this vid is kinda bad for a first timer. A the hardware holding my stock together is not a flat head but 2 philips and a 10mm bolt. Also never remove stuff ahead of time, let us see it all. stopping before slide dis. and finding another guide video
No its not the same as the 320 just look up a winchester 1300 disassembly.
Nice looking weapon, but seems to to require too many tools for a quick field strip. If you want to break him down you need to bring a tool box.
almost every shell jams in my 350 barrel. caution on this purchase.
Could you post a video of this jamming? I think we all would like to see it in case we have the same problem.
Savage arms warrantied my gun out and replaced it with a model 320. So I no longer have the gun that was jamming.
Wish I would’ve seen this before purchasing mine.
just for stupids sake, what would hapen if you were to fire this without the stock
Looks like a very poorly designed shotgun and not very user friendly for dissasemby, definitly not getting this gun, looks like Mossberg or remmington for me, thanks.
Twizzlers bruh? Why does that make me not trust that hes doin it right?
