Read your owners manual. You don’t ever need to crank down the barrel nut with pliers. Just hand tighten it good and snug every time before use. That way it will be tight enough, but yet allow you to take it down in the field if need be.
@@AlmostPrecisionKinetics man that sucks. I've had their guns have issues outside of the warranty period and they repaired it for free or sent me free parts. I've had to pay once but it was for a small bolt that was 3$. Sorry to hear.
Hi. Thanks for the video. The failure of the tack welds is a well-known defect. Its not fun having the shotgun literally fall apart in your hands. If you returned the shotgun to Stevens/Savage they would have repaired it for free, regardless of the age of the shotgun. Technically they should have recalled these things because its a major safety issue, and I dont know anyone who owns one that hasn't fallen apart during use at the range. If you dont have a box to ship it back, they'll send one to you. Best - J
I saw someone mention these in an old video comments section and they said that since then savage has revised the design to have them line welded very solidly, even going as far as to say it’s overbuilt. So if you have an older savage stevens it will have this issue but newer ones shouldnt
I have one...it was confiscated from a crack house. Put a new fore grip on it and use it to test slugs with .. I call it my crack gun - it does work but ...
Essentially this is a Chinese made 1300 Winchester with a difference the but stock,..... On the trigger group you hose it down with WD-40,..... then you put it in a Bowl of paint thinner and clean it with a tooth brush,... no disassembly required. Then it's clean the you lube the moving parts,.. oil or Remington dry lube.
Also get 1 made 2017 or after.. U can tell by the back of trigger gaurd is much thicker.. Well made great. Gun tons of rounds 3"mag slug buck bird minimags it eats em all. N a dedent lik red dot on the security model like mine 5 rounds later was dead on.. Accurate without dot but better with.. 😁 There Good reliable shot guns.. At least now or if u don't treat em like this guy. N been smart n sent it in for free warantee repair.. Fuckin knuckle head. Lmaooo
Watched back a couple of times. There are a couple parts different on the newer version I just picked up. The action/pump just by simple observation. I did notice, if you don't correctly seat the barrel with the mag nut and swivel (happened to me when the bolt isn't spaced when sliding in) it will not function properly and can be potentially dangerous. You will notice the bolt will "sag" under its own wieght, not locking into the chamber even though it seems it has. In short, it could go tick or it could go boom when the pin is dropped and the shell is not fully in battery.
I have a Stevens 320 that I got in 2010 and my slide arm extension has a different design the back of the tube that connects to the bolt carrier folds back around like the end of a condom and it captures the carrier so if the welds break it won’t matter now. You can buy the update one on eBay if you have any more issues.
The broken pump tube was a common problem back around 2012-2015. Maybe they weld it better now? Definitely sign up for the savage warranty just in case it does break. The warranty is only good for a year from the date of purchase.
bradyro1978 .... thanks for sharing. I already checked into those. If you read it, it won’t fit a model made after 2016. Which sux because I just got mine and it’s brand new.
@@obxguy1 modifications can be made to it, a mix of the older and newer version of the trigger groups is what I'm told and there was a guy I recently came in contact with that makes adapter plates for the back of the reciever where it meets the front of the stock. For about $220 - 280 you could buy a MossBerg 500 and not have to go through all the trouble, so my 320 is going to stay the way it is
Go to the gun shop you bought it from! Take it there and get her fixed! I know my gun shop will take care of all there customers needs no problem! That’s what there for! I hope you haven’t given up hope on it in these past 2 years!

Any idea where to get a replacement handguard? I noticed after going shooting today mine feels a little loose so i may need to replace it at some point
You could have put the forearm back on without taking it apart again, the inner diameter of the forearm is bigger than the mag tube so you could have just slide right on to the action slide, also you don't have to tighten the barrel nut with pliers, it just has to be snug. Great job BUBBA.
He chopped a chunk out of the forearm, so even though he had better access, you still have to screw on the lug. Just easier to do and tighten without having it attached, as he said.
@@ehill1536 No. At 10:50 all he had to do was slide the forearm on and attach the lug. The barrel was off nothing was stopping him from tightening the lug especially since he cut off the end. You never need to use Channel locks to tighten anything on a shotgun. This is a great video on how NOT! to do it.
Good video. The bolt reassembly was more complete than anyone. Sadly , the disassembly is still a slight mystery but less than before. Is there a 320 disassembly video. I subscribed and can’t find it. Anyone. Thanks 1 million
has anyone removed the trigger section, reinstalled it and found the slide release doesn't seem to engage properly? It works properly when it's been cocked, but if it's empty no rounds in the tube it doesn't seem to need the slide release to be engaged to rack it the first time.
Man my heat shield welds broke loose. I jam after the first discharge and sometimes the first rack. New buffer and stopper fixed but man. What a piece of junk. Mine didn't do this yet though
Mine is having the exact same problem. I have tried every possible solution. I can put each piece in separately, but when they are assembled together they hang up on something inside the frame. Pressing the release button or directly on the internal bar doesn't help. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
Take a hacksaw or a disk grinder with a cut off wheel and cut a slot into the stock bolt. Then just use a long screwdriver so the bolt head isn't sliding back into the socket. It's a Chinese made gun so what are you expecting?
I have ben thinking about buying one .looks really cheap even for a Chinese built gun. If I only have to weld things on it and the bolt and fire control group hold up it may b a fun little smithing and welding project .may just weld the pump directly to the bolt lol .
Wow. This is some CAVEMAN work! If you watch this for assembly order, great. But IGNORE everything about “cranking down” as hard as you can and tool selection instructions!! Damn that was hard to watch, even on a CHEAP Chinese gun!

bought mine about a month ago didnt have any of those problems pretty good shotgun for the price tag in my opinion. just curious as to why you kept it or even did a video on it if you think its so shitty lmao you don’t usually keep piece of shit things for damn near a decade and then make a video about it
It is a shit show, 10-4 on that.. Bought brand new, upon cleaning before shooting noted the barrel was super carboned and residued up. Then the front slide came completely off taking the firing pin housing with it. Had to take the trigger assembly out to slide it back in, as it appeared the side sear was blocking it. Also, it. was noted the barrel fitting did not fit flush with the rec. upon reassembly. So, loaded 5 rounds, shot two, FTF on the other 3 was the result. No, this thing is going back for refund.

Exactly and I’m new to shotguns! Glad I wasn’t just tripping! 😂
Holy hell that was rough to watch. I was yelling at my computer when he broke out the pliers. All I can say is WOW.....
Yeah, now that wuz funny!

Ever think of contacting Steven's in that 6 years? Their customer service is top notch.

Nice gun men, better than 1000 shotguns
How do you take the mag tube off? It came off and don't know how to replace it properly
Excellent video great job
For a budget piece I enjoy mine it's been almost a year

You should sand the end of the hand guard flat and hit it with a heat gun or torch. Would look better.
That’s some love hate relationship right there
