I do have 5 Laban fountain pens (Skeleton, Galileo, Antique II, Lagoon and Sun) with M, B and Stub nibs and I love them all. They are very good writers, beautiful and well-made. The prices are appropriate, and I can recommend this brand without any doubt.

Do the nib units unscrew? Or are they fixed? I want to change nibs often but I can’t get an answer weather the nib housing unscrews or not. Also are the nib units bock? Jowo? I just got the antique

I love my Laban Solar in Orange with a F. All my favorites: heft girth metal grip and price !

Nice review. I recently bought one in blue (although I'm hardly a fountain pen beginner) with an F nib and I like it. It has this Art Deco vibe similar to the Leonardo Momento Zero and the Asvine P20.
Using a Diamine ink I don't have the impression that this is a dry nib at all.

I also appreciate having the converter labeled.when I’m cleaning several pens at once, knowing for sue which converter goes with which pen makes reassembly just that much smoother. This Laban seems pleasant enough, though the dry nib is a bit disappointing.
Thanks for another informative review about a pen of which I was not aware.
(The smoking skull guy on the wall behind seems to be a bit off kilter, by the way.)

WhileI only have two Laban pens in my collection, a Taroko, and the almost jumbo sized Mento, both are favorites…each writes smoothly and wet (think Waterman Phileas and you’ll get the idea), and both are most attractive!

Thanks. Good review as usual. One of my early pens was/is a Laban. Good writer. Metal, a bit heftier, but delightful.

I got one, probably the prettier of my 200 fountain pen , I did bought, I suppose , because one of your reviews maaany year ago (I think it was the time in Netherlands ) I remember that you meet the owner in one pens gathering…) my pen cost me around 80€ , I never use it, it keep drying , it doesn’t write well, the nib it’s in house I guess , and it does show, dry as well, the treads (to fine…) also badly designed (metal in brittle plastic¿!) . When I take one fountain pen, I use the other Taiwanese , the good one, and look at the L-A-B-A-N for inspiration 🤣. In the section of pronunciation , been Spanish , when we don’t got the word in our language ,for us, the norm said that we should read in Spanish (French got the same rule ) it’s not a lack of respect for the others language , but a way to know how to write it. And…come on! Taiwan was a Portuguese colony , for 70ish year Spanish too, but never was French . If I will imagine a name ,I will say LA = LEI , BAN = BEIN , Lei Bein, sound more “Chinese “ I suppose 😉

Interesting pen, but at 95 euros, I feel that the buyer should have already have purchased a pen with a gold nib and then, by curiosity, buy this one. Which puts this pen on a somewhat odd trajectory, not on the path from steel to gold nibs, but past the gold nib.
Being a poor steel-nib only lonesome cowboy, I would delay purchasing a Laban pen, until I strike gold.

Negative point: out of the box, dry nib, for 95€...

You could just use your cell phone text to speech to figure out how anything is supposed to be pronounced.
