Just got the Celestial Blue Black with Gold nib on Memorial Day Sale for 283, was aiming for the limited edition Selene but it sold out in 5 days

Nice pen - I'd rather have a step-down on the cap than a steep step-up on the barrel... :).
Price it is definitely high... at that price point I would expect at least a 14k nib.

I was recently gifted the Camera Laterna model and found myself thrilled! I like their different and unique designs (vs many other makers) and the nib gave a flawless writing experience right out of the box!

I have 2 Kilk pens which are a pleasure. If I remember correctly from videos of about a year ago, they are hand made by a group of artists who also take care to check the nibs. I believe that accounts for the price as well as the originality in their designs. I particularly love the Camera Lateran pen. The clip resembles a piece of film and the finial looks and spins like a reel from a projector.

I got one over the summer and think it’s a great pen. Well made with beautiful material. I agree that the design is different from a lot of the standard things we see in the market now and the Orient stands out because of it. My nib was a BB that wrote on the smaller side for its designated size, similar to yours, but still a nice writer.

The pen does remind me of the Montegrappa Mia with the flat ends and the steep stepdown between the cap and barrel. Nice pen. The price is acceptable to Montegrappa or Leonardo pens. Not something I would buy immediately, but would consider if I had the money.

    Interesting shading in that ink!
Thanks for another lovely review. :)

When you correctly oriented the cap for posting, the clip faced away from your hand. If that orientation is purposefully done, it is a nice detail.

Lovely marmalade pen. Very nice shape a la the PenBBS 323.
Your latin seems good. Curious about the coffee.

I have been curious about this brand for a while, so greatly appreciate the review. The colour of the pen is really lovely and there is a nice chatoyance to it (at least in the video). Thanks again for this review another interesting brand to be on the lookout for.

It is pricey... Maybe the sterling silver adds to the price? It's on my list of "fountain pens to get some day". Thank you for the presentation, dr. Brown!

Orient is a bit of a pejorative tern but they chose it
Happy Holidays and enjoy your winter

Said's work on Orientalism is noted, but I'm going out on a limb to say that an Istanbul-based company takes some pride in being the former center of the "Orient".

Dr. Brown: I've send you an email asking how to change Nahvalur Nautilus nibs. Please give us an instructional video. Thanks. Nice review by the way.

Just unscrew the nib unit from the section. Or gently pull (I recommend using a cloth or better yet, a thick elastic band) on the sides of the nib) to remove nib from the pen.

This looks like an attractive acrylic but nothing more for the exhorbitant price of $260. Your review is kind as to the attributes of the pen but a Tianzi piston pen or a Penbbs cartridge pen or many others for a fraction of the price would serve the writer at least as well. I would never consider this pen over a Leonardo, especially with a Bock nib. Good luck to the artisans.

Reminds me of the pen bbs 323 with a clip added. It may just be the camera but the acrilic looks wavy and not finished all that well. Looks like a $30 pen, but given the silver trim I would say $60.00 no way over 200!

Fountain pen people need a dose of reality and a redefinition of value.
