This interpreter was brutal. When a reporter asked how he (Yamamoto) felt AFTER he retired Tatis, the interpreter asked him if he felt he could retire him. Another reporter asked about his thoughts on matching up with Darvish. The interpreter skipped that part and asked only about the fan reaction in Japan.
Earlier in the interview, one male reporter asked what he (Yamamoto) had done DIFFERENTLY to prepare for the game given his past difficulties with Padres. The interpreter skipped that word “differently” and simply asked how he had prepared for the game. Naturally, Yamamoto’s answer did not addresse that differently part. Then a female reporter asked how he felt about the successful outing given his past struggles. The interpreter changed it to how he had felt before the game against the difficult opponent. At one point, Yamamoto was confused as he thought he was being asked seemingly the same question many times, but what he heard from the interpreter was not exactly what American reporters were asking.
His errors occur when he translates English to Japanese. But they happen so often I hope he is not hampering communication between Yamamoto and Dodger/medical staff.
Soooo happy for our Yoshi!!!🎉🎉 Biggest game for him in the majors and tonight and he was amazing. Much respect to him and ourJapanese fans out there. May you continue to better yourself and have great success 🙏 😊 Let's GO Dodgers!!! ⚾️🔵⚾️🔵⚾️🔵
I can’t believe an MLB club actually hired this interpreter.. Every video he is in, he’s messing up. How has he not been fired yet? 300 million and you can’t get him a decent interpreter? It’s embarrassing.
Yoshi's Interpreter SUCKS! There was several questions asked y a Female Reporter where she specifically wanted to know how Yoshi FELT after performing better tonight against the Padres, and again about how the people in Japan FELT, and on BOTH questions, this interpreter LEFT OUT the word FELT, or FEELING which in Japanese is KIMOCHI! In other words he didn't ask the question that reporter asked, and CHANGED IT AT HIS CONVENIENCE. I just fired him, at this level, we all deserve better than THAT! How much does he get paid for this sloppy work. Joke!
Are you Japanese? It's true that kimochi means feeling, but I feel like something more along the lines of 'dou kanjimashita ka?' would fit this context more.....but I'm not a native speaker so
Way to prove everyone wrong! It's nice to see him rising to the occasion in a big way! Go Dodgers!

Congratulations
If American reporters thought Yamamoto was answering to questions they had asked, they were severely misinformed. This interpreter was brutal.
一例だけ挙げると、タティスの所での質問は「あそこを切り抜けてあとは行けると思ったか」だったのが、「あそこを切り抜けられると思ったか?」に変わった。他の質問もニュアンス含めて間違いだらけ。
@@naxos41 You are absolutely correct on the lousy interpreter. It's a shame because so many things got lost in translation!
He needs a new interpreter.

Muchas felicidades a Yamamoto estuvo increíble ♥️💙🤍⚾👏👏👏👏👏👏🥳🎉✨✨✨✨✨👍
Dodgers need to find Yama a new Interpreter
translation is a little bit off
True
We need Will for him as well
just samurai🎉
English questions might not be shared correctly to Yoshinobu unfortunately....
山本選手は英語の質問はほとんど理解しています。だいたいこういう質問が来るなっていうのもわかっています。ちょっとおかしな訳があると敏感に気付いています。物凄い集中力と相手の心の読みにたけているのでバルカスやリバーライアン君のような文化や言葉の違いのある子たちにも優しく答えてあげられるのです。
I wish they would give us captions for the Japanese questions, or have the translator stay and translate them for the English-speaking audiences
そのぴー 帽子は普通に被るか脱いだらどうかな。それにしても今年は、MLB通訳が注目を集めた年だったな。一平とそのぴー そのぴーは、日本語、英語共に訓練が必要だ

お願いだから、この通訳を変えてくれ。全く正しく訳せていない。
This translator sucks! Why not have Will Ireton do it? (Ippei was great, but too bad. . .)
Teoscar speaks better Japanese than this translator.

man, this interpreter is partying
Yup, thus, he might forget to share some points from the reporters to Yoshinobu.
It's in interviews like this one that you can see Ippei Mizuhara was truly one of the top interpreters. I miss him.
You miss the thief/backstabber? 🤨
Dodgers should invest in a pro to truly interpret Yoshinobu's thoughts.
@@shizuetomlinson4213 I'm a Japanese speaker, so I'll probably do better XD.
The way you think is dangerous. You better put your priorities straight.
Actually, Ippei was also off at times and he was worse the last year. Now we know in retrospect why, he deteriorated so much towards the end.
通訳はあまり上手くないですね。

@77Cardinal that was pretty weak. And to add to your stupidity, rally towels are free and Petco is a cashless venue.
