Thanks for showing the process of this! One of the models I have has a staff that’s slightly curved so this will be very helpful for fixing it before I start the whole priming and painting process
Hi. I pored resin in a round silicone muffin style pan. When I unmolded the cured product, it was all warped & not round! How do I fix this? I though about turning it over & doing a thin pour on top to see if that helps. I want to make coasters in different sizes. Can you give me any tips?
The weight of the resin was moving your silicone into the not-round shape. You need to have it supported. Normally when you make a mold you make sure to have enough silicone in the other edge to keep this from happening. Another way it to add a support structure around the mold using plaster. To get an idea of what I'm talking about you can check out this video - ruclips.net/video/ihlZ9Kh_uPo/видео.html - and start at about the 14 minute mark. This is actually a much more complex process than you might need to do with a muffin mold, but at least you can see what I'm talking about in terms of supporting an otherwise thin silicone mold.
Hot but not boiling. The hotter you make it the faster it will affect the resin (and the more it will affect it). Make it so it's hard for you to keep your fingers immersed, but not so it burns.

No problem! That's what these are here for. I'm just super happy to hear that it was useful for you.
What would you recommend on bigger parts. Like cosplay bodypart pieces
It depends on the resin you use!! Let’s resin is fantastic for heat.
Really helpful, thanks!

Thank you for your help. Yes this mold is very flimsy. I've never had this problem before. I will try this method.
Thank you I have some warped pieces I need to fix.
Thanks for the video. Very informative
thanks mate great tip
Thank you!
Does this work on water washable resin?
There's no reason why it shouldn't. Different resins have different temperatures at which they become pliable but it should work.
Does this work for action figure fingers?
It's entirely possible. It really depends on the material it's made from but it shouldn't hurt it to try.
Jay Adan ok
How hot is the water ?
Hot but not boiling. The hotter you make it the faster it will affect the resin (and the more it will affect it). Make it so it's hard for you to keep your fingers immersed, but not so it burns.
I live in tropical country, i use clamp and put my model in the outside, wish me luck
I just use a hair dryer
Explanation is right and good, but what could be said easily in 1 minutes takes here 4 min
Sorry for wasting your time.
