  • Went wild camping up in the Lake District National Park. I've always wanted to camp over by Small Water and it didn't disappoint. Despite having a cold, I had a great time testing out the new Dipole 1p. Just a fantastic trekking pole tent... Feel free to reach out with any questions about gear and such. Cheers.

I had to get the laptop out once I saw you posted. I knew my phone wouldn’t do it justice! Thank you for the beautiful shots! It was nice to be able to listen to rain with you, without worrying you were going to get struck by lightning or blown away! Being the storm chaser you are, it was nice to see you enjoying the beauty instead of living on the edge. 😂
    Happy trails and travels!

@@journeywithnichole hi Nichole! Nice to hear from you. Yup, this was a relatively relaxing camp. No hurricane force winds, that may be on the next one, lol.
      Cheers!

Hi Alex. Great to see you back out. Lovely video. That tent looks a solid option for sure. You should try a nyloflume pack liner. Cheap, ultra light, waterproof and tough for what it is. Keeps everything in pack dry and no need for a cover. 👍

You made a nice film there Alex. I've not seen that tent before, I agree with you about the Footprint idea. I did the same on my last trip. Take care Grant 👍.

This tent is my favorite by a long shot (even after only it for almost a year, lol). It’s got lots of room, weighs under 1 kg with all the pegs/cords and the solid inner is nice for wind and rain…
      Cheers buddy!

Great video, brilliant content. . Saw the last one when you tried to put your tent up in incredible conditions. Top effort. I recently bought the Dipole 1 DW, and I think it's one of my fav tents.. Really underrated and not a lot of exposure compared to many other similar tents iMO.

I'm on the lookout for a lightweight spacious 1 man that can fit stuff in and is ok in wind and rain (ie. the UK 😂) so thanks for showing this tent, looks good.

Hey man, great video as usual.
I'm about to do a thru-hike in Picos de Europa (spain) in about a week. I have the same tent and I recently did the seam sealing (crossing my fingers I did it correctly). I was wondering what kind of cord did you get for the side pegs. I'll probably need to get some cord attachment to make sure my tent doesnt fold under bad weather conditions.
Love the fact you used it under some rain. Can't wait to finally put it to test.
    Cheers.

@@nymuelovan I’m sure it’ll be a great trip. I’ve seen lots of videos of Picos De Europa and it looks amazing.
So I replaced the two Apex guy lines with 10 foot ones (about 3 meters each). This will make the tent more stable if you get hit by a crosswind. Also, I added 3 foot (~1 meter) guy lines to the end struts.
And finally, I always make sure I bring at least six long pegs. Four for the corners and two for the apex guylines.
Let me know how the trip goes. I’d love to hear about it!
      All the best 👍👍

    Hi,
Lovely video. I just wondered how you edited your videos, if there was a special programme or something?
Tent looks interesting. I have an xmid but find it flaps in my face a lot during wind. How does that compare?

    • @alexonthemountain8343

      @@lloydcozens9346 Hey there!
I use a program called Final Cut Pro. It takes a little bit of learning, but there are plenty of good RUclips videos on how to use this editor.
I purchased the X-mid 1 before this one and found it too small for my liking. And yes, it’s not as sturdy in the wind. The Dupole (silpoly version) does surprisingly well.
Hope this helps! All the best…
