Here’s a thought: Ultimately, money is only valuable because people have this weird obsession with gaining a certain social status within society. People seem to be overly concerned with being better than and having more than the next person. That’s evident with there being a 1% that basically controls the majority of the wealth on this planet.

I probably won’t have kids because there’s a chance that I can be just as traumatizing as my mom was to me , to them , and I don’t want that for a child :/
Having children IS ghetto. I've really been considering adoption lately but it's not adding up because there's millions of couples waiting to adopt and millions of children who remain unadopted. Make if make sense
I’d also argue that veganism is inherently classist. My family is relatively well off (and we’re black btw) and my parents are vegans. Whenever I mention friends of mine who grew up in the hood right in the middle of food deserts, my mom-who grew up in the hood in poverty so bad she won’t talk about it-starts talking about how veganism is so cheap and everybody can switch easily. My dad’s no better. One time he told me that it was nice that I cared about “the poor people.” It takes a lot of time, a lot of money, and a lot of access to overpriced bougie stores, and my parents can afford that. And it’s just weird to watch because they look down on other black folk for not living the way they live. And don’t even get me started on how these white vegans talk shit about everybody else and then appropriate different culture’s foods. I was so confused when my dad started making Indian style curry that had no flavor. White vegans are out here sucking the seasoning out of all these dishes and calling it healthy. How are you gonna make curry and be scared to put curry powder in it. Smh
or maybe your parents are right that it actually isnt that expensive or difficult to switch over. if you absolutely live in a food desert, then ok. but if you have a normal grocery store, rice, beans, tofu, fake meats, fruits, vegetables, oats, etc. are all comparably priced to their non-vegan counterparts. i think its a bit patronizing to poor black people to say that they cant do it but somehow your parents were able to. this comment section has actually revealed a lot to me about 'victim mentality', which i never believed in until now. so many people saying that veganism is racist or classist or even ableist is so sad to me, as if black people literally cannot do anything. again, I DO understand that many cannot bc of their environment. but so many commentators are painting it as if its simply impossible, dont even bother trying/asking. and it just relates to overall self-improvement in general, and how we literally cannot suggest any type of self-improvement without people going like WELL BLACK/POOR PEOPLE CANT DO THAT. i also agree with kai that people should think twice before having kids, especially 5,6,7+ of them, and even this has been painted as a racist/classist remark as if we simply cannot refrain from popping out 5+ babies. im tired of it.
@@TheCinnamondemon I think the issue is that people have an “all or nothing” attitude towards things that don’t really require an all or nothing approach. Not everyone needs to engage in a vegan diet, and its not even the healthiest diet for everyone. But, if a lot of people cut back, not eliminated, just cut back on the amount of animal products they ate or used... that’s way more helpful than doing nothing at all, and its an intentional effort that should be encouraged and acknowledged. But because veganism has turned into an often-times extreme identity, rather than an open conversation about how we engage with food and our ecosystems, well... I can see how people are quick to find reasons as to why they can’t engage.

Some ppl were pregnant before this pandemic started and happened to give birth during it, just like ppl who happened to have children on 9/11, during the Great Depression. By your logic the my ancestors are selfish and weird for giving birth during slavery
“You do need to to aspire to do anything.” I, too, have been thinking about this recently. Humans weren’t put on Earth with all the societal constructs and nuisances we have today. People were able to be valuable and see themselves as such in a time where all they accomplished was eating, staying alive, and providing for their circle. That’s being said, living like cavemen isn’t the answer. But everyone agrees that the best things come when you aren’t looking for them, a good mindset turns everything to gold, etc. so why don’t more of us actually do what we love and let the rest happen? Some people don’t have the financial luxury but at the same time so many middle class white kids go to college just because and end up living lives they never dreamed about, only settled for. My goal is to start living like nobody ever told me who I was or should be.
This is a thought I come across a lot and get depressed about. Like I’m tired of going to work at a Walgreens, when I could just be a human trying to survive and eat. Then my mom always thinks I’m not doing enough, like I just don’t want to exist
@Idk what is considered realistic to you? I feel like there’s no such thing as being realistic. Everything is literally made up. Idk just my take on things tho
@11:00 I Doordash and noticed that in the “ghetto” areas people mainly ordered fast food because those were the only options, whereas the “richer” area’s had a vast array of healthy food to choose from, very rarely fast food is delivered to a nice area.
Yeah, I've noticed that too! I've been door dashing throughout 2020 and the "ghetto" areas did seem to order more fast and unhealthy food. I've also noticed that since the pandemic has slowed down every service, that the trash was piled up in some of those areas and the smell was really bad. It's very bad and unsanitary even if we weren't in a pandemic.
Its funny that people call people who don't want kids selfish when a lot of people want kids for selfish reasons. Life is hard I'd rather adopt a child already here
Because economic development dictates that when you print more money, you raise inflation. Therefore the loan that the country already had would raise too! It's all a conspiracy. Ikik... But that's why modern democracies built on the backs of the two world wars are fated to fail.
if you want kids adopt, adopt adopt!! help someone who was already brought into the world have a better life, if you can provide a good life for a child why would you create a new one when there are people who are already here that need it. I would agree there is a degree of selfishness however if you happen to fall pregnant its obviously your right to have the child if thats what you want. I just don't understand the desire of having children from an early age especially.
I love these comments. Knowing I’m not alone. We think too logically to bring kids into this world honestly. Like what is the benefit? What selfless desire is fulfilled by brining a child into the world? And if I bring race into it..whilst I LOVE being a black woman...this shit is hard.

you kind of contradicted yourself when you said we shouldn't have goals, then right after you said we should be a good person and try to survive. That is a goal in itself. Another contradiction is, you said its selfish to bring a human being into the world because that person wants a relationship with their child but i could say you wanting a relationship with a partner later in life would be selfish according to your standard.
@Anon A society has conceptualized and glorified life as a gift... that’s the thing. It’s a brainwashing narrative. It IS selfish to bring a child into the world and be upset that they’re on drugs or become deviant based on the parents standards. Because that child is not a reflection nor should be a direct result of the parents expectations. It’s selfish to think people should be who we want them to be for us. Here’s a thought: Ultimately, money is only valuable because people have this weird obsession with gaining a certain social status within society.
People seem to be overly concerned with being better than and having more than the next person. That’s evident with there being a 1% that basically controls the majority of the wealth on this planet.
This!
OOOO when people would applaud their faves for posting a black square during blackout Tuesday and saying how proud of them they are. This is why they think that’s enough, people want to gas them up for doing ✨nothing✨
Videos by gia I so agree it's annoying because the crazy thing is a lot of those same people who posted those black squares have only posted those black squares and that's it. People like this always get praised for doing the bare minimum just because they have a title. I also think that people like this don't care because they have the mentally of "well if it isn't affecting me why should I care?"
@@amyashae8025 Honestly its a group mentality most of these white girls don't give a damn about what's going on, they post during blackout Tuesday because its the "woke" thing to do.
@@amyashae8025 SO TRUE!!!! Legit they hit it and quit it. It’s so annoying. And they’re normalizing doing nothing. How is the world supposed to change if people think it’s okay?? Also Blm was trendy. When I spoke out about it beforehand people called me the angry black girl but when it’s trendy those same people are reposting on Instagram smh
I probably won’t have kids because there’s a chance that I can be just as traumatizing as my mom was to me , to them , and I don’t want that for a child :/
If your acknowledging this concern your already a way better parent than your mom
I'm sorry to hear about your trauma, I hope you're doing better now
Sunetta S Thank you ❤️
Having children IS ghetto. I've really been considering adoption lately but it's not adding up because there's millions of couples waiting to adopt and millions of children who remain unadopted. Make if make sense
what she is saying is LITERALLY my brain cells communicating with each other when i think about my life ...🙂
I’d also argue that veganism is inherently classist. One time he told me that it was nice that I cared about “the poor people.”
It takes a lot of time, a lot of money, and a lot of access to overpriced bougie stores, and my parents can afford that.
White vegans sucking the flavor straight out of all the food 😩😩
racism=classism

Also having a kid during a pandemic intentionally is a little weird to me but idk 🤷♀️
I kinda thought I was the only one lmao but ppl have there reasons ig
It's full on weird!! People are having kids because it's an "obligation" in my culture... It's disgusting.
its just sick
I was just thinking this...
Some ppl were pregnant before this pandemic started and happened to give birth during it, just like ppl who happened to have children on 9/11, during the Great Depression. By your logic the my ancestors are selfish and weird for giving birth during slavery
The very last hot take about black women dating white men being different than black men dating white women. Whew🥵 somebody snapped
We could really just not doing anything but we can’t because we’ve be programmed to think that going to school for half of our life and then working to our death bed is the only path we should follow. Idk just my take on things tho
it’s so refreshing to see someone with the same thoughts as me lmaooo thank u

Life is hard I'd rather adopt a child already here
Sis did NOT come to play, as usual 😌
Omg yes! I never understood why they couldn’t just print more paper to pay off their trillion dollars of debt 🤦🏿♀️
wait...you're onto something-
Because economic development dictates that when you print more money, you raise inflation. Therefore the loan that the country already had would raise too! It's all a conspiracy. Ikik... But that's why modern democracies built on the backs of the two world wars are fated to fail.
Are y’all serious right now you guys don’t know basics of a economics.
Eduardo Gonzalez Yes. I was 100% serious when I said that ...
Where would it come from??
if you want kids adopt, adopt adopt!! help someone who was already brought into the world have a better life, if you can provide a good life for a child why would you create a new one when there are people who are already here that need it. I would agree there is a degree of selfishness however if you happen to fall pregnant its obviously your right to have the child if thats what you want. I just don't understand the desire of having children from an early age especially.
Or have kids
this whole video should just be called "kai's communist manifesto" lol
But communism is a scam too! Atleast in practice
I love these comments. Knowing I’m not alone. We think too logically to bring kids into this world honestly. Like what is the benefit? What selfless desire is fulfilled by brining a child into the world?
And if I bring race into it..whilst I LOVE being a black woman...this shit is hard.
I'd say 70% are accidents whose mothers didn't want to/ couldn't abort.

@@colemathis7471 I can see that. I wouldn’t be surprised if the percentage was higher. Especially in America where healthcare and abortion aren’t always an option.

your hot take on ancestors: what you said it very true. not everyone's ancestors actually did anything useful with their lives. but I think when people talk about "our ancestors" they're talking about the generation of black folks before that DID help us to get black to where we are now. and we really wouldn't be this far if it wasn't for those generation's help so I think they are worthy of praise
I've always said the same thing about the kids thing. It gets people riled up but it's quite literally true.
I'm not having kids because mental health is passed down in my family and of course mental health struggling people can always get help but let's be honest imaging having a kid going threw everything you did that sucks

you kind of contradicted yourself when you said we shouldn't have goals, then right after you said we should be a good person and try to survive. That is a goal in itself. Another contradiction is, you said its selfish to bring a human being into the world because that person wants a relationship with their child but i could say you wanting a relationship with a partner later in life would be selfish according to your standard.
Yes . The child thing was weird given your hating on humans when she in fact is a human . a lot of her hot takes were common sense .
The world does not value life, nor treat it as a gift, when we’re all witness to senseless violence against our own species.
