      @@TableTopReadyRUclips true! Been dabbling with the airbrush this week, similar story, patience is key, goes on lovely but always good to let it dry and then give it another pass to build up the opacity!

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  Год назад +1

      Yeah it’s exactly the same process. Airbrush just speeds the process up as the paint can be applied thinner which drys quicker

      Amazing. I'm glad your getting started with the hobby :D make sure to take your time and enjoy the hobby. I sugggest maybe watching this video more than once and even some of the other tutorials. Its going to take time to reach what you see in the tutorials.
      But you can easily just start by working on base colours and then shades and washes, you don't need to do everything straight away. do things when your ready.

    Makeup highlight brushes for dry brushing. Such an obvious hack at this point, but one that's so popular it should be mentioned. So popular in fact, that the big boys in miniature painting supplies have copied this and slapped thier logos on and now sell them for three times the price you could buy them at your local WallyMart.

    this looks awesome, just recently started with WH40k ( like 2 months ago) and just painted Cadian Shock troops and cadian command squad.
    Just ordered a Combat patrol, Heavy weapon team and Ratlings + more colours.
    im doing the very basic painting style atm, but its alot of money when totaly new, several brushes, loads of diffrent colours + all the units and other tool's needed.
    this still looks a bit to advance for me, but il get there :)

    Really great tutorial mate, I'm following it along slowly but surely with my own sentinel. Quick question, why do we use rhinox hide + medium rather than simply using agrax earthshade here?

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  10 месяцев назад

      Shades tend to be inconsistent. you can use agrax but you'll find its difficult to build up that colour in the same way. I don't actually use lahmian medium for glazing anymore. I switched to just water. I reccomend watching my Ballistus dreadnought tutorial for how I would do it now, just obviously not the same colours.

  • @Eruc0lind0
    @Eruc0lind0 Год назад +1

    Many thanks for this, and all your tutorials. The video came at a perfect time for me, as I'm currently painting up both the Sentinel and the Ordnance and there appear to be very few decent tutorials, particularly for the Sentinel, in the classic colour schemes with a result of as high a quality as this. It's also a perfect opportunity to finally try a bit of glazing, which looks to be a really nice way to make those flat panels look a little less 'flat'.
    I always have trouble thinning paint down to the right consistency for glazes - I know it isn't an exact science, but what was the rough ratio you used to get a decent glaze out of the Rhinox Hide? I'm trying to avoid getting the messy tide marks I always manage to get whenever I try glazing!
    Thanks again.

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  Год назад

      I’m glad I can help. I would thin down a paint with just abit more than half. The trick is when your actually applying it to a surface. You want quite thin layers that dry pretty quickly and build it up. Your brush strokes should really go in a direction towards where the gradient is darkest. Your basically laying down thin layers of pigment. You’ll
      Get the hang of it after doing it a few times 💪🏻 everyone’s different

    • @Eruc0lind0
      @Eruc0lind0 Год назад

      @@TableTopReadyRUclips Spot on, that was precisely my mistake - my brush was too wet, so I suppose I was laying down watery layers of paint that took too long to dry and spread the small amount of pigment unevenly. Wicking off that excess liquid really helped. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
