I've watched just about every single reaction to this song and you sir, are the first to figure out the connection to the book, well done and thank you!
Dammit Tyler! He mentioned absolutely nothing about the book in his interview comments. But holy shit, “keep your bliss, there’s nothing wrong with this” makes so much sense in the context of the book lol…
I don’t think that Tyler was condemning relevant prescription drugs-more so recreational ones (or abused prescriptions too I imagine). As someone diagnosed with ADHD in my twenties, and having two children with it as well, medication for ADHD is absolutely a blessing-it allows you to recognize and live as yourself as you should be and allows you to reach your full potential. Saved me from depression and low self-worth, too, to be quite honest.
You haven't seen my adult sister with serious ADHD. I think you don't know what it's like to live with ADD or ADHD, either. *I think in USA misdiagnose might be more common. ADD and ADHD won't go away, if you actually have them. The conditions stay for life, also adults and the elderly have them. My sister is a middle-aged homemaker, she can't remember anything, her driving is horrible (with ADHD you are 6 times more prone to car accidents!), she can't concentrate on several things at once. She talks constantly, making others tired around her. She might be creative, but her memory is short and she can't concentrate. She is always forgetting things, she is very inattentive. Having actual ADHD or ADD, might cause a person to act like they are having a dementia and their brain are full of irrelevant thougts, while the important things are easily missed. So I think that Tyler is referring to using medication as making you happy (maybe medication for depression) or someone taking them to get high. I don't mean to be a-hole with this but I know what serious ADHD looks like so I decided to write my opinion on ADHD medication. Otherwise great reactions.
I appreciate your perspective, and the reality of it. I think I over generalized the on the reality of Mis/ over diagnosing of it. Thank you for commenting!
I really love your reaction ♥️
Thank you!

Ok! Thank you for you civil, knowledgeable input.

I agree, the song is a reference to Dr Zeus, Mulberry Street and the ridiculousness (if that's a word?) of this PC world. Love the TOP reactions.
