- For the latest interview special of Electric Friends, I speak to #GaryNuman's brother John Webb, aka Donovan Silver.
Donovan opens up about his close bond with older brother Gary, what it was like growing up with him and the first time he joined Tubeway Army on stage as a 12-year-old.
He also speaks about joining the band full-time as a teenager and their various tours, as well as working alongside Queen legend Roger Taylor on drums.
Donovan also gives a fascinating account of his impressive aviation career, as well as his return to music, including his most recent album Alpha. Видеоклипы
What a really nice chap. Love to hear more stories about his time with Gary on the road.
A fantastic booking for the podcast. It was very interesting and full of stories I did not expect....Lucky to have seen Mr. Webb, play with his big Brother in 1982 at Perkins Palace in Pasadena, CA
What a fantastic interview. John's life story and achievements are up there with his brother's. Lovely guy. ❤
Fascinating. It was always fun to see John Webb playing live with his brother during the 80s tours.
What a brilliant interview, and what a real nice guy donovan is.
Close family. They had a lot to deal with, but they endured tough times. Press intrusion and vile journalists. I followed Gary’s career and met both his parents. Beryl was extremely kind and humble. John is a truly talented man, he was so fond of his Mum, he must miss her immensely. Lovely interview this.
Great interview, John comes across as a very nice person .😊
Great interview cous.felt for you with the school part. Bullying, nastiness etc. I was so proud to tell everyone my cousin will be on whistle test. Then my bullying, nastiness, jealousy started. I'm still proud and of course yourself and raven aswell. So I guess I won in the end...
What a great interview. Your channel is amazing! New subscriber here, been a fan since 79. Really good to see something different with all these vlogs. Thank you 👍.
What a nice guy. I’m 58 years old and remember buying Numan records back in the days. There was no internet so I didn’t know when a new album was in the making or would be released. Here in the Netherlands there was no airplay or any information about Gary Numan. I literally knew nothing about him or his family. Now I know he has a fantastic brother, I even listen to his Daughter Raven. I follow his wife on instagram! Times have changed for the good in this case. Thank you for this interview, really enjoyed it.
Brilliant interview, I remember seeing John / Donovan many times when he toured with Gary , they were brilliant days
What a fascinating interview. You can see how raw even things like the bullying from years ago still are. I feel like this was a cathartic thing for him and I hope he feels better about a lot of things now that he's done it. Very well handled.
Cool geeza .
Fame Can Be a Nasty experience It Seems For a lot Of Stars We Keep Hearing this Time after Time . John Is a Decent , Humble and Talented guy I am So glad He Is Back On the Music Scene Alpha Is a Superb album and I Wish him all the success he deserves . Great Interview ..
I was into ELO! lol, still am, but I'm also a massive Human fan!
fascinating life he's lead. (led?) I had no idea he'd done that much work with Gary, I thought he just played sax on some albums.
Excellent interview, really enjoyed that. Nice to get a mention too!
Glad you enjoyed it!
A fantastic and interesting interview
Love this Channel!!.. I remember me and my friend bought Gary’s first album in 79’ and were blown away by his music .. nothing like that here in America at the time .. that was my introduction into the world of Synth music.. I was 14 then now going on 58 and still love playing Gary Numan’s music .. great interview and great Channel .. thanks 🎹✋🏻
The Experiment is a mad crazy track.
Gr8 interview 😊
He could be a supporting artist for Gary?
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Disappointing interview, it’s quite well written now that John didn’t actually play instruments on tours, recordings, shame that it’s inflated here that he did. The interviewer seems very uninterested throughout to Johns answers. Seems a very nice guy but very fortunate in all circumstances upon being Numans brother🤷♂️
