They are constantly right on that edge of the cliff... not shying away one bit. Anyone else feel like this is more of a 20 years ago drum corps sound? I'm enjoying it.
This video is so surreal. As someone who has marched and been to many lots, they are almost never this quiet, and due to the nature of this activity being in the summer, almost never this dark. The setting is just so odd, and between it being at night with the big lights and it being so quiet except for the hornline, it’s just a really weird and kinda unsettling thing to watch. This isn’t anything bad on the corps or the videos producer, just this specific video is in such a perfect setting to record that you never see during tour that it’s creepy lol
I know this is last year but for the first few seconds I was like “this sounds a lot like Babylon”. That would be really funny if they just did Babylon again just because it was such a great show.
Ugh. One of my favorite Hornline sounds. Ever. Something so... bittersweet about it? I can’t even explain it. It’s such a dark and bright sound at the same time. I love it.

They should’ve just kept the camera on the baritone Soloist, I’ve been trying to see how he plays it because I just can’t find the music for it lol Edit: if anyone has info on where to find it please let me know
Their drum major is amazing! Cleanest I've ever seen by far. And that sound! Is this from Babylon? Sounds like it Edit: I meant the first drum major, although the second one is amazing too!
Best scv lot video of this year, for how good their brass was there was not enough good videos of their brass section, well done 👏
5:19 "Look around -- there is no one left." Been there myself with another corps, and it's a hell of a feeling.
Their mellos were on fire that year. They lead that hornline through that whole entire show.

Unfortunately as a broke teenager all the money i can afford to give you is watch time :(
Seriously, that has to be the best mellophone line in DCI history. They are playing ridiculous licks with such ease. Ahhhhhh!!!!

My only complaint about this vid is that it should be at least 30 mins longer.
I'm so impressed by the Drum Major, my goodness!
He is so good. He is now on visual staff for the troopers this year.
It was so amazing getting to be a part of that show! Watching this makes me miss it hard😭
It's about damn time! This is what my summer NEEDED
1:44 the trumpets though...
I heard SCV in the lot this year for the first time and it was so beautiful. bruh why did i choose to be a woodwind
As a BD alum, those mid licks are boss. Best of luck this year. Best from the west!
Excuse me but that’s *_hot_*
The sound of the contra's pressing their valves during their feature is sooo entertaining
3:12 - 3:30 sends chills down my spine
Tuba feat at 2:47 was my favorite
Best content out there!!! Quality makes it worth the wait 🤯🤯🤯
Probably my 15th time watching this video in 2019 alone, but... is there anything more satisfying than those horn snaps?
3:30 his facial expressions add so much to the playing
The ballad is my favorite part!
What mic are you using? With headphones, this almost sounds like binaural audio - it’s incredible
Ah that's hot. So great seeing this show live.
1:34 HOLY CRAP THAT ECHO

Thank you so much!!!
Song name at 3:32??
Canyon, written by Philip Glass but this is a drum corps arrangement
The canyon I'm pretty sure
“The Canyon” by Philip Glass. It is a historical encore piece that the corps plays and comes from the 1999 show!
Alex Rosales “The Canyon” - Phillip Glass. SCV plays it commonly since their show using it in 1999
Alex Rosales canyon
