Bedman is pretty cool. the only problem I have with them, is that when I'm trying to pay attention and look for my opponents startup frames of certain attacks the kid ends up running in front of them and blocking my view. its hard to whiff punish when the kid keeps on running in front of them

Idk. People are dooming, but I think Bedman is conceptually balanced. He has ways to be safe, but you have to earn it. I don't think he's overpowered, but he does have privileges that other characters don't. I think Bedman is a solid character, and I also think Bedman is not a character I ever want to see buffed. I'm not trying to live in that world. Y'all want safe pokes into infinite pressure, and I'm not about it.
gonna pick up bedman, been a season 1 Ky player since day 1, as in I have not changed my combo routes much since season 1 lmao, this guide will help me finally leave Ky, unless ofc there's a Ky 101 in the horizon.
Your oki strings only work because you mistimed the 2S oki in the first place, which means the beyblade explosion came out "earlier" and made it look real. The Bridget could have just jumped your fake 2S oki though.

Watching the video rn so mb if you mention this already, but 2d also has quite a bit of blockstun. Because of this you can kind of force most characters to take a fireball, as it can catch their jump and also give you time to 6p if they airdash in

This structure of overview is really good. For me personally when I look at a guide I'm definitely more interested in seeing how neutral and pressure can be structured than what combo to do when I do find a hit I can convert (the easiest thing to just lab out on your own).
it's more a 101/beginner guide & the guides already goated, but i dont get when someone says 'this move is bad,' or worse, 'dont use this.' Granted im just a run of the mill celestial player so yeah but in skullgirls ive gotten top16 normally, top 8 once for their official tourney a while back & only did using moves people forgot about. Of all matchups youll find at least 1 spot for each character for each move over another option. 2s jacko for example. Back to bedman, they're one of the few characters who has an automatic followup after dust kind of like jacko being safe from minions. If there's anyone to lab dust on it's bedman for sure. 5s dont use? it's 'bad?' In many videos i've seen it used a ton. I guess ultimately a smart player will look at everything after a bit, but it can hurt others in fly-by-night discord talk w/how much people parrot stuff lol. Anyways appreciate the videos, glad you're going strong w/the content. Nitpicking if anything.
+1 on every move has a use, cant think of any move in modern FG that doesn't have a use. At the same time some moves can be better than others. Can be tough to strike a balance between brevity and comprehensiveness when making guides, still trying to strike that balance. What do you mean by automatic followup after dust btw?

I wish I could enjoy fighting games like I used to, because this and skullgirls look so fun, and I used to lab combos in Injustice 2. What really turned me of from fighting games is their communities. Such hostile people make it so hard to get into these games. Still, I enjoyed watching this video. Made me nostalgic for sure.
FYI far slash is -9 on block for some reason and can be punished by DPs. 2S is even worse at -11. This is pretty exploitable as 2H gatling already has a 3frame gap and is already very risky to use. I doubt f.s and 2S will be that minus in the next balance patch because I don't remember seeing any far slash being punishable on block like this, never mind being punished outright by DPs.
Potemkin's fS is close, at -8. In a lot of ways I think bedman is going to have to play and think similar to pot, including being very mindful of spacing on heavily - buttons in neutral to avoid eating a punish.
Taking notes, great stuff as ussual👍 I've really been struggling on defence with this character so far, not being able to jump out of the corner is a pain.
Mind you, I’m only floor 8/9 but these are my findings re defence. The more I play Bedman, the more I noticed defensive jumping in the corner is a huge gamble (you have to be REALLY quick with throwing out a 5P or 5H). I think the concept the devs were going for is to play it like a tank, so slow and defensive in these situations to instantly reverse the pressure is the way to go. In that situation I just look for gaps and try to 2K2D + followup special my way out. 5P goes really far too, so you can often hit people trying to reset pressure that way. Attempting an 8 way jump + FD is pretty strong too if the opponent tends to stay grounded. Bedman made me learn the system mechanics re defence properly because he doesn’t have that many options, has been great.

You can actually take a lot of things from xrd and apply it to strive for this character. Even though his deja vu is completely changed, most of his normals and his hover are very similar. His gameplan is also pretty much the same. I got used to the new bedman extremely fast. If xrd bedman was fun for you, strive bedman will be too.

This character seems awesome. I've been wanting to learn a new character and Bedman fits right in with Ram and Testament as a "big button go brrr" type character. Too bad though since the game is unplayable. I've played like 10 matches in the last 3 days of trying to play this game again and I'm about ready to give up again for another month.
following the weird arcsys advice i've been able to get matches most of the time.. what i do is go back to title screen (not sure if this is necessary), wait for the little symbol at the top before clicking a button, and then if i get the match failed thing i'll go back to title and join a different server. sry if this doesnt help 😭

you can but you can’t jD again if you jump/float cancel jD until you touch the ground again. Haven’t checked yet if RC resets this
