You are correct on the Caius/Fader burn ruling! Fader is banished by it's own effect, and not by Caius' effect, so no damage is dealt! I actually talked about that on my most recent 5 Minute Edison Rulings vid on Frogs :)
Rule of thumb: when Card A has an effect that puts itself in a location when it leaves the field, and Card B is trying to make it go to a *different* location, it always defers to Card A's location.
e.g., Destrudo vs. Evenly Matched, result is that Destrudo goes to the bottom of the Deck.

Game 1 was essentially over because they stacked their own deck so absolute zero donkrd them 2 turns in a row
you actually would take 1000 from caius banishing battle fader, or at least you would in 2023. Not sure if it was ruled differently back then

Evenly vs Floows is a different scenario.
