The improved tutorial is a godsend. The on boarding process needs to be so good. One thing I think M and M is missing is great ui thats intuitive and a easy on boarding process. Pantheon really needs to get that right. Sell the early game. Everything else can be added

$50.00 USD sounds about right. There seems to be enough content to support that price tag. They’re a small company and compete with games like Elden Ring in terms content per dollar. So wouldn’t mind paying that price point.

$29.99 sounds like a fair price but I doubt they will only have a single box price. multiple editions seems realistic. The hotbar is so freaking obnoxious when i watch gameplay, feels like a unity demo when i see that.

The hotbar and the UI in general really needs to be replaced for early access its a sore spot
I'm surprised some people are so put off by the hotbar. Thousands of popular games (including most MMOs) use this, it's not unusual
@@EB-bl6cc Yeah, that's the absolute least of my concerns when playing an MMO. Plus, they don't even have a dedicated UI person yet, so all of those things will definitely improve.
@@EB-bl6cc I dont mind hotbars, the aesthetic/size of the hotbar in pantheon is obnoxious.
I like the graphic style a lot more than I thought I would, but I absolutely hate the UI.

Same, I tried a couple of the "season" stuff, but nothing over a couple hours on two occasions. I would just like to see this game released. I think this early access is a decent way to go, so I hope those who gave up will come back and have another look.
I pledged in November or December of 2016. Don't know when they original pledges started though. The originator pledge or something like that.
The audio is indeed incredible in this game. Completely sets the mood and atmosphere. If they can add to and enhance that ....kudos. Can not wait to get into this full time. Seasons is fine, but I can not wait for full time access. Love what they are doing.

Same, I've been watching this project for years but have held off from pledging. I could afford one of the cheaper pledge packages, but didn't think it was worth it considering there really wasn't much of a game. It looks like EA will strike that balance of content and price for a game I've wanted to support

Yeah $40 would be good I think. My wife and I plan on buying the early access. I'm not a Pantheon fan. I do love old school mmorpg's and this looks like it has enough of all the things I love that I'm willing to overlook some of the past missteps I have heard about.

I've sworn off early access purchases for all the obvious reasons but for this I will likely make an exception. I'm actually hyped for this game again! Agreed, don't you dare introduce any F2P cash shop BS the only way this game can live up to it's promise is with a subscription model.
30-40 bucks sounds decent. Looks like they are turning things around so that's cool.
If they pull off this Early Access it will instill some major confidence in the community that's for sure
I have gotten lost in the game recently with all the quest updates. The immersion of crafting is also something I have gotten into. I am looking forward to trying early access with the character creation and the other races getting away from human eventually lol. Just can't wait for Druid to come out. Been enjoying shaman a lot though.
Still skeptical, but this is a step in right direction in getting Patheon into something more serious. Will re-evaluate this game again when early access launches. I wrote it off as vaporware awhile ago and didn't anticipate it getting this far.
Same @ thinking it was vaporware. When it comes to MMOs these days, I will always expect the worst and be happy to be proved wrong

Pantheon is my most anticipated MMO as well. I hope they can make it happen on time. They need to reinforce the trust they have started to rebuild more recently.

@Nathan I loved seeing your breakdown of this. Fingers crossed they take their time and so launch is not what dooms this game.
I understand what they are trying to do with EA... I don't like that it's at the expense of those that pledged early and basically kept the lights on for VR.
To be fair, such an early pledge like that should be done knowing that your money may be completely wasted. Pantheon devs have had a long tough road but at least they're still trying, the game is looking good and has had a lot of progress in the last few years compared to the almost decade before that. They're just doing what they have to to keep progress as consistent as possible
@dustindouglas9912 to be fair they've long said they have enough pledges to fully develop the game without any further backing. To be fair they've made promises and broken them in the past. To be fair the game looked better in the past. I don't "invest" money i can't lose. What i can't abide is inconsistency and lack of loyalty. I'm here I'm still testing but I'm bitter and jaded and that's my perogative.
It won't be more than $50. They said they want to increase access to the game. Can't do that while raising prices.

Looking forward to this. I will be playing it! The new graphic style really didn't bother me at all. It's not superb, but I find it generally pleasing. The UI is very rough, hopefully they will polish it. Animations are also super stiff and uninteresting, but thats usually something they save for last so hopefully they have the money to pull that off. The sound is superb. Also, agreed on the cash shop. If they do that the game is dead in the water. This game is for a specific target audience. We will pay for the box price plus a sub. That's it. If they release a major expansion then we will pay a one time charge for that too.
If they pull this off and eventually make it to 1.0 and release the full game it will be one hell of a comeback story. It would be epic.

Back in the day game testers got paid not charged to play a game that has 6 zones in 10 years.
I know you're watching the video and that's where the tracker was posted at the time, but you should also show the updated one that has alot of that further ahead

30 is the average EA price in my experience ... My only issue with Pantheon has been the population distribution over the level ranges. I've always been forced to start a week or 2 after a season start, etc and no one is in the level 1-5 range
They compromised on the graphics.. but I'm guessing they'll say that wasn't a 'core value'
If it allows them to work on the game faster and get this thing out the door i'm all for it lol.
Well to be fair graphics weren't part of Brad's tenants (although I'm willing to agree that Brad probably wouldn't have approved of the new style) and the old graphics weren't perfect either, the models we were used to seeing were assets and had major issues. The new graphic style is starting to look a lot better and there is still many graphic passes before it's considered "finished" I don't think we will ever have our minds blown, but yeah as EQOAnostalgia said, I'm just happy that it put them in a place where they're getting stuff done and the project is propelling forward

As for the subscription plans... Remember Everquest, you had to buy the box plus pay a sub.
How they are going to implement it in this situation though, if they do go with it?
I assume if you buy the box price for early access it's a little less and no sub until launch : then at launch, full box price then sub : that's what I think they should do
I think they are holding off on the sub to not get bad press like pax dei did for a future sub. I think it only not being confirmed to avoid unneeded backlash.
Man I gotta be honest. If I had time to play the new EQ I'll pay anything remotely reasonable. Would still occasionally play P99 when there is some time but nothing serious. Mostly FF7 remake where it can be paused mid game! Maybe the kids will be old enough to create a group when Pantheon finally comes out and we can play together!

I assume there are character wipes after alpha or at least before game release, right? I didn't see anything on the FAQ about it. May just continue to stream your vids until games officially released!

I 100% agree about the graphics/visuals. I watched 1000 streams/videos and when I pledged and saw the graphics first hand, I was very pleased and they keep improving! Also, I could see $40 or even $50 for EA box.

I use to play Lineage 2 and Shadowbane back in the day, really looking forward to this game. I have a pledge pack already and looking forward to possilbe playing with you in the future. We have played Embers adrift together before.

They just dropped the Pre-Alpha/Alpha/Beta naming for Seasons so they could invite Alpha/Beta players in to play during the seasons. So now it's just in "Pre-Release" stage I guess you could say

Just to correct you, he did not say "you pay for the game, you get the game." He said, specifically during early access you get the whole game, but post early access, they haven't decided if you'll continue to get the whole game or how they will monetize.

Both pax dei and embers adrift charged $40. I think $35 will lead to more sales and people in game.

I had to go back to look when I actually pledged to this game and it was 2019. I was so excited to play the game back then but now I don't even know if I care. Since I already paid for it I'll obviously give it a chance. It just took a different direction than what I was originally hyped for. Time will tell I guess.

Did I hear correctly one Box Price for pledgers. NO I purchase a pledge that gave me two accounts of the live game, not early access. I'm only playing this game on release. I'll be playing on Linux system so I will only install it and make sure it works on release. I'm not messing around earlier. I'm not buying a box price to play.
They clearly explained in the video that pledgers will have access to everything including the final release...
Yeah, pledgers have already had ability to play Pre-Alpha pledgers play anytime, Champion pledgers play 2 weeks every 6 weeks, Supporter pledges play 1 week every 6 weeks and have full access to Early Access as soon as it drops 24-7 and launch version
My issue is that you're buying an incomplete game, and they haven't told you what the final monetization will be. He said that you'll have access to the full game in Early Access..... which means you could potentially lose content when the whole game comes out. There could be paywalls or subscriptions, they just don't know yet

Yeah they were really clear on no paywalls, THAT would be breaking a core tenant, so that will never happen
@TheNathanNAPALM sorry bro, you need to listen more closely than. He said " there will be no paywall content in EARLY ACCESS". He conveniently left out post launch. I'm going to go back and check it again though. I could be wrong.
@TheNathanNAPALM he says after release they'll consider how to bring us more content meaning paywalls are possible. The wording there is very shady and tricky listen again and you will see
I really want to try this game and get into it. The graphics, effects, and especially the UI are just a huge turn off though. Judging by all the gameplay videos I've seen If they ever polish those aspects up a bit I'd likely dig into it. The UI just feels more suited for a sc-fi game and the graphics and effects are just really bland. I understand it's meant to reflect the spirit of an old school MMO but that shouldn't mean it looks like it came out in 2001, in my opinion. You can definitely have that old school feel while also having the UI, graphics and effects of modern times. My first MMO was UO and I've played just about ever MMO made ever since to some degree and I just can't do the old school look anymore, it's just gotten stale. I'll definitely keep an eye on it and see if they improve on any of that though because I do like the direction they're going overall.

Seems like anyone that wanted to buy , basically, an alpha game has already done it. People are going to be expecting a pretty well fleshed out game if they charge for it even though its flagged as early access. The term early access is all over the place too -- it could be anything from a barely functional game all the way to basically a beta product and everything in between depending on who you ask...
Yeah I would have preferred different words used, but their definition of “early access” will be judged by the new players

It looks like Everquest 1.5 with 1/50th of the launch content. I don't see the point in it in a world where EQ1/2 exist.

30$ and no more. Bad ui, clunky gameplay. Still there isn't a complete content patch 1.0 to be played in the early phase. The road map matters little. Devs can change or remove anything at anytime with little to no reasons, so never trust road maps. Also classes and races are still incomplete?!
Too many things are labelled as "post early access". It won't look good at marketing either especially when you try to convince potential players who didn't follow the project since it's early days.
I don't say the game won't be successful but it will certainly have a harder time at reaching full potential.

I pledged $60 in feb 2014.. Dissappointed to see that the game looks like it's from 2004 though. EDIT: After trying the game myself I can conclude it does look a little better then my impressions after watching the video.

That bow looks like a toy bow for a kid. Who made the decition to think it was a good idea to show that corny bow? Some stuff they do in Pantheon is good, but the animations, posture and faces, how they swing the weapons looks silly.

After seeing the graphics from others on youtube showing the gameplay footage, i'm very disappointed, if you compare it to FFXIV its very outdated looking.

Yeah I mean they can’t compete in the graphics department with a multi billion dollar company that threw everything they had at it in graphics, but I’d rather PLAY Pantheon than FFXIV
