Canada and U.S. i dont think those are are so poor as Romania and Ukraine are. And you need to live in those country's to know how many of dog and cats are without a home :)

@@zaren3490 She said in the video that they are banning their rescues from traveling to the U.K. Most of their dogs are adopted in the U.K. So I asked what about Canada and the U.S for adoptable homes for these dogs.

I can’t speak on Canada, but as far as the US goes, technically bringing them over is not banned but the regulations in place make it VERY difficult to do so, unfortunately. The CDC has a guide on whether a dog can come to the US by passing 6/7 steps: www.cdc.gov/importation/bringing-an-animal-into-the-united-states/dogs.html. Basically, if a dog is coming from a high risk country and is less than six months, doesn’t have rabies vaccine certification, and/or doesn’t have an ISO microchip, they can’t come.
I know of another US volunteer who worked at the Ukrainian shelter I visited and fell in love with one of the rescue dogs. He was set on bringing her back to the US, but was crushed when he realized he wouldn’t be able to meet the requirements. 😢

@@SharityInc I just checked and our prime minister recently banned imports of animals to Canada from high risk countries.
We have some amazing rescues here ( I work with 4 of them ) with a lot of room. The dogs are free to roam ( 2 fenced acres with supervision) during the day but are kenneled over night. I'll keep looking into it and see if I can find some loopholes.
