  • Across the line is primarily caused by the right elbow driving too deep in the backswing locking the trail shoulder up and forcing the club across the line. This can lead to a number of undesirable positions on the downswing. Learn to pivot your right elbow in the backswing to swing the club up the plane line.

    Another great video. Thanks so much. Would pushing the handle down and away have the same effect?

      Pushing the handle down helps get the club on plane but it’s not a cure all. Pay attention that the trail elbow isn’t pulling too far in and behind in the backswing.
