Hi Erik This may sound like a daft (that is a Scottish word which means "silly"! ) question, but do you still make them, and do you sell them? Much more beautiful than the machine made ones, and I would certainly be interested in buying one.
I'm a 73 year old great grandma in America and I can't tell you how much I am enjoying your videos. I'm amazed at your skill. Was wondering what the digging under your cabin would create. I don't want your videos to ever end. Keep it up Erik👍
Lovely spoon! I've watched all your videos in the last couple of weeks. I skipped this one and now appreciate the level of skill you had before tackling the cabin. The way you make videos encourages mindfulness practice. I was washing dishes last night, after watching the latest cabin video. There was pleasure in attending closely to what my hands were doing. Making your mindful craftsmanship available for others to slow down into shows a generosity of spirit and also optimism in your belief in the attention span of your viewers.
Those Mora Knifes are the best. No wonder, why those traditional knifes still are produced/used/loved. I just discovered your channel hand have only watched 3 videos, but I really like the way you do it. No unnessesary talking, no hectic cuts, no drama. Just chill and "If you want, you can watch what I do".
Time well spent, it's a keeper! I enjoy watching your projects. I have the Gransfors Bruks large carving hatchet, it is heavy and i'm almost afraid I'm going to injure myself or lose a thumb.
I just got my first Gransfors Bruks and I am very happy with it. I got the small forrest axe and I want to get one of their smaller ones but couldnt decide which one I wanted...you just helped me decide what other one I want. Great vid
Very nice job carving a beautiful and functonal large spoon! It isn't so large as to not be an eating spoon and yet is large enough to be a good stirring spoon for stews and batters! Great job!
Found your channel last night.young man and your abilities are quite impressive. That spoon is lovely. It is nice when something that is so basic to our lives means more simply because you made it. Rock on. 🙂😤
Wow, that's really amazing! I just stumbled across your channel a few hours ago and I don't know what to say. You are living my dream. you are really talented and I take my bow that you still cling on to your dream and still are working in the woods. Thumbs up! I had to subscribe immediatly
This is wonderful. I really enjoyed watching it. I've made a few. Gransfors Bruks are the best, I fell in love with those tools since the moment I got my first Small Forest axe into my hands. I started carving with the SFA, but have since changed to the mini hatchet for most things, especially spoons. And the Mora knives as well. And your pants...It's really nice to see someone else doing this!
Perfection love your set up. Im looking to do it exactly like you 1 pack axe 2 carving hatchet 3 morakniv 4 hook 5 sandpaper 👍 nicely done I just subscribed!
You are a very very talented fellow! I have watched all your videos and loved them. But... do you ever make errors? I can't believe you've never goofed.
So amazing to watch you make this beautiful spoon ... You have many talents. So enjoyable to follow your channel. Did you make this before you started your cabin build?
For convex wooden objects as far as sanding is concerned, it is better to make a stick "in your hand" 8x6 cm nicely smooth and straight and square square.Wrap glass paper in it to sand the wood and sand it like this. Better than on your knees. Faster and easier work. Glue felt with wood glue. For luxury sanding
I’m watching some more of your videos, and I think if I tried to make a spoon like that I’d end up with a spatula that has a 4 inch handle and no shaping to it all because of one missed cut with an axe,

Erik Grankvist Thank you very much for your explanation. So this really is a very good and meaningful symbol for you. It could be your trademark sign at some time in the future.
I am no expert in the art of spoon carving. But I work my way up to 500 grit sandpaper and soak the spoon in different oils. Then often with time I have to sandpaper it a little and oil it again. I just test my way forward and it works. Thank you.
Please just be very careful with some of those techniques. The spoon knife with pressure on your thigh made me nervous. There's a couple pretty important arteries not far from there. Anyhow, pretty work...I enjoyed seeing the Grunsfors in action carving!

Wonderful and detail work you do, this a wildlife hatchet you're using ?

Those pants look great for carving in. What brand are they?
Great job. Hard to see the hours and hours of sanding it takes to finish a spoon, fork or spatula....I do one a week.
The sides of the spoon by the carving are thinner than the rest. How or where do you dry this so it doesn’t split?

Normal linseed oil works well, dont use modern boiled linseed as alot of those products contain toxic chemicals.
