  • Caution: children should use child-safe art supplies. You can do it! Let's give this appealing, simple manga girl a try! In today's video, I'll demonstrate how to draw a cute head shape, using "up" and "down" guidelines to place the features of the face. This will be a 3/4 angle to the left. which is a popular angles for drawing pretty female faces. We'll draw bangs and long hair in the back, as well as over the ears.
Of course, we'll focus like a laser beam on creating lustrous eyes. But the main thing are the overall proportions! Large upper head and a diminishing lower head and chin. We'll also sculpt the side of the face to curve it inward at the far eye - an important finishing touch. And we'll finish up with a smile for the expression.

I wonder if one of the reasons why my 3/4 look funny is because I'm mistakenly putting the nose at the cross section of vertical and horizontal lines? 😫 Your little button nose is off to the left and looks right. 👍.. Thank you for all your selfless time and videos. They are so appreciated! Blessings to you

the focus of the nose is bestput at the bridge, between the eyes, even if this will be erased in the final drawing.

It's a good try, but it's a very outdated manga style

he is so good he should totally do something where there is like an athletic girl because when i was watching this i could so see her hair in a pony tail and some net (volleyball or soccer or even basketball) in the background . with all that said keep doing what you do its amazing!!!!!!

I think the hardest part for me is KNOWING I'm going to get the drawings wrong initially. I used to draw all the time but haven't drawn in years. I'm trying to start back up but am afraid that itll look like crap. Any advise ?

Yes. I always recommend drawing loosely, energetically and not to worry about errors for the first draft. Plan on doing a second, clean-up drawing on a separate piece of paper. That allows you the freedom to create. If you try not to "ruin" a drawing, it means you will only draw what is safe, even though it may not be so effective. In my published work, I typically draw 3-6 drafts for a fininished image.
