Totally agree with you. Fell in love with Framer 8 months ago and I can't get enough of it. I still use and love Webflow. But Framer is just different :)
Also just a note - I love when something is built for designers it often looks super dumbed down like big buttons? yep that is for me! ow light grey workspace yes please, san serifssss.
I love Framer and used it to build my portfolio website last year. The customization features are so good too. Being able to see the breakpoints for all the sizes is so important and they make it so easy. I'm a big fan. Also, great RB hat.
Totally agree!
👋🏾Jesse, great to hear how positive you are about Framer. I'm moving all my clients and site projects to Framer over the next few weeks and this will be a core building platform. Webflow got me here (so much respect for them) and now Framer will get me there. Exciting timers, we all need to jump in - Play, Build & Launch 🚀
That is awesome!
Shane just out of curiousity, are you rebuilding all the sites of your clients in Framer? And will you be able to bill the client for this? Only answer if you'd like to share more, it's a general question from me. I've been building in Webflow for two years now, and would've built a few client sites different by now, but obviously don't want to rebuild them for free, and they're not broken so I can't imagine my client would like to pay for this, or am I wrong in this one? Other people can answer too if they like to chip in. All the best, keep on playing, building and launching!
This video couldn't have come at a batter time. I've just jumped over to Framer and so far I'm liking it. Would love to know some good resources on how to grow in getting to use from it.
Thanks to your Autolayout live session last week, it helped me understand how to use stacks, and now I'm absolutely in love with Auto Layout and stacks. Framer is just the best and it saves me tons of time! e.g you can just copy and paste effects!!! 🤩
Really great walkthrough, thanks! Would love more Framer content from you. Maybe a page build or some nested components, timed and tabbed carousels, some animation ideas?
More to come!
Framer’s the best, thanks for this awesome review of some of the key highlights!
Just found out about Framer today. Love the overview that you gave on it and highlighting some of the salient that you like.
Welcome aboard! Framer is amazing!
Great video; thanks!! Been enjoying Framer!
Oh my, now I'm conflicted. I've been working with Webflow for almost a year, yet I love how much Framer's interface resembles Figma (where I live).
I have the same feelings now 😕
I’ve just invested months into learning Webflow. This industry moves so quickly. I guess Webflow is still an incredible tool as well.
@EmilyMarais Webflow is still great, Framer is just more my style
@@JesseShowalter That's good :) But will try Framer anyways.
That's very cool. Looks much simpler and faster than doing the same stuff in Webflow.
Framer is absolutely awesome, I only wish they had Relume integration like Webflow does.
Wow I did not want to learn webflow so this is amazing! Jesse, how long does your code last for? - might play around for free first.
Thanks for the video, quite enlightening. One question though, does Framer actually have the ability to create all the animations that you can make in Webflow?
I notice your headline font is different when you play, it goes from sans to serif? I'm interested in Framer I've yet to dive in and learn it. It really comes down to the animations for me.
Nice video. What about things like : adding scripts in order to include let's say cookie app.
Is it no code only or you can add some classes to place some tricks ?
You can add custom code
The best tool in my mind is a mix of Figma’s flexibility and Wix Studio’s ease of use. 🎉 this looks like it might be the one.
It uses wix’s CMS
If you have a blog heavy Wordpress site, can you take it all into Framer?
It's not a bad design tool for a website but I have issues with their pricing plans. When it comes to posts with the CMS feature. I feel it's limited if you want more than one database of CMS in a single project.
What software do you use to record your screen for these videos?
Jesse, is Framer no longer a prototyping tool where I could share a prototype link?
What font does Jesse uses in his design?
Where can I find the template you used for this video? I can't find it as "Retask"
can u drop some framer tutorials soon?
I'm All in
We’re teaching about framer in my free community designchamps.io/
I just loving Framer. But I have some doubts about responsive components. Example, I have a Hero section and this component has so many variant only desktop mode. The question is, how to become in Tablet and mobile version?
This looks like the answer for me... how is the accessibility of the published site?
hello sir you make a drop down video with hover only hover not use click in prototype thanks
Hi framer its magic! What template do you use in this viseo?
I can’t remember but it’s a free one
@@JesseShowalter thanks!
So, I code sites myself. However, I'm looking to start learning either Figma or Framer for JUST UI/UX design. Can someone please tell me which of the two would be best for my needs?
Figma.
Figma for a strong foundation, and basic knowledge in design fundamentals. Framer is like an extension of Figma, but it would be helpful to know and start getting acquainted with Figma. Most designers use Figma as their foundation. The two are almost interchangeable but it’s important to understand how to use Figma if you’re going to be sharing files, or collaborating with a team or other designers.
Just design definitely Figma. But if you code in React Framer will be a great tool because you can write custom React components.
Figma, this is the way.
i have been using figma and just started learning framer, my question is does framer has prototype, why cant i duplicate a desktop frame in the same page and run prototype?
Which would you recommend - wix studio or framer?
I've used Editor X before, and I'm excited to try out both the new Wix Studio (essentially Editor X 2.0) and Framer. Personally, I'm going to try Framer first for my website redesign because I have a feeling I'll get it done quicker in Framer than with Wix Studio (given how similar the UI is to Figma). I'm excited for both, though!
Testing one after the other for the same website design that I have in Figma will hopefully give me a good feel for which tools I should use for certain projects!
Having used Wix a lot, I'll say Framer is much better in my opinion.
@@shakes8653 Which have you been using? Wix Studio or Wix "Classic"?
okay. help me decide now.. Webflow or Framer.??? am a designer love designing. and I am learnign figma atm... but I want to jump into one of those two... which one could it be.?? helpp. thank you in advanced. cheers
focus on figma. there are upcoming updates on it
@@rigidhammer7376 but i want to publish my websites... Figma is just the prototype maker but I need to take my figma work to an actualy live website. which one to choose?
What about taking payments like from Stripe of GPay?
You can do that
Should I move from Webflow to Framer?
That’s up to you but personally I have made the switch.
Just wanna let you know your referral link doesn't get highlighted by RUclips

Have you ever tried to code? I'm curious

[Figma, Framer, Spline] Revolutionizing the UI/UX Landscape. ( UIzard on the way...)
Framer is too expensive bruh.
It’s cheaper than Webflow
Framer saves a lot of time. What's do you value more? Time or money?
thats an ad.
Framer is to expensive if you need localization. 40 USD per month for one language and your limited to 50,000 words. Services like weglot cannot consisntely translate framer sites under subdirectories. Just an FYI
That’s a very specific need, don’t throw the baby out with the bath water
@@JesseShowalter Localization is fundamental in just about any country that isn't the united states.
Something I'm sure the folks over at Framer are aware considering they're a company from the Netherlands.
My (webflow based) firm has hundreds of clients and the only ones that dont ask for localization are Americans. Granted thats a massive market and framer is perfect for them.
But still calling localization a "specific need" is just not accurate for most of the world.
Framer and Webflow are way too expensive.
Compared to what? Wordpress? Coding? You have to look at it differently and ask yourself what your time is worth. If your just building 1 website a year for your friends, it definitely doesn't make sense.
@@cryMoreLoL for me it's mostly the hosting costs and also being locked into an ecosystem. Framer and Webflow are great tools, I used them both, but I can't host anywhere else, so they can set whatever price they want. I typically try to keep build, hosting, and domains completely different from each other.
@@cerebralvision webflow lets you export your code and host it anywhere. However, hosting on webflow has its benefits too. Also, I never understood why people worry about hosting prices because 1. You, as a designer/developer aren’t paying for it 2. How is a business not able to afford $15-$25/month to host a website?
Webflow allows you to export your JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. I’m not familiar with Framer, but Imma bout to find out! It has me quite excited!
dude really made a video teaching how to use a figma clone.... 🤣🤣
Um… what are you using?
