Elise Cranny broke Stanford's mile school record at the 2018 MPSF Championships in 4:31.29, a mark held by Lauren Centrowitz at 4:37.07 since 2009. Oregon's Jessica Hull and Lilli Burdon ran 4:31.76 and 4:32.3 to break the Ducks' school record of 4:32.61, established by Anne Kesselring in 2012.

Worthy of a rerun... That Track looks like a smooth hamster wheel and with fellow athletes assisting with motivation vibe...great environment.
That's the Dempsey Center at the University of Washington and it is a great track and a great place to run.
Remind me why am I watchin a race from early 2018 in 2021, pretending that it’s a new race? I shouldn’t just because Flotrack needs to no their in the wrong path!
Flotrack sucks
@@merbalee 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hey man, before you start criticizing, you'd better learn proper grammar. You'll get no respect if you can't speak and write properly.
Races from three years ago...are you at least filming the races run today that we'll see three years from now in 60fps 1080p or better? Or will we forever be stuck in 2010?
You be quiet and take what we give you!
You'll watch our boring podcast, along with races from 5 years ago (with misleading titles) and you'll love it!
- Flotrack, probably.
Please put in title a 2018 race...omg
Sage throwing some serious 'bows in the opening 10m!! Savage
looks like she was pushed on accident (who knows) but i would be like that too if i was pushed against a wall
There's no girls in this race.
These are amatures
@@waterproof4403 Yep, collegiate athletes are all amateurs.
Broadcaster - these are WOMEN. They stopped being "girls" when they entered college.
Get over it. Women are girls girls are women..a lady is a girl or a woman...quit harping on mere semantics
@@ah93704 I don’t hear them referring to the men’s side as boys. It’s demeaning.
That was exciting!!!
Someone repeatedly calling collegiate women "girls" should have HIS microphone taken away. Even three years later.
Agree!
3 years late
If you stopped watching old races maybe they’d stop posting them.
messy start... beautiful finish 👏
Oh! You mean Stanford VS. Oregon. Not Stanford, Oregon. I thought there was a new town I’d never heard of. 🤨
I ran a sub 4:25 in the first mile , on 2miles HS state championships , wow it brings back memories . Great race ladies .
Without knowing the results yet I'll take Jessica Hull. This is Washington's indoor track and any record run here doesn't hold up under NCAA rules. It's not 200 meters or banked.
Why is this announcer calling the athletes "girls"???? He should be saying "women".
Awesome job ladies.
🔥🔥
4:31, and Gerry Lindgren ran 4:01 in high school almost 60 years ago. Heck, I ran 4:30 back then and I wasn't even a contender.. Yea, let the boys run as girls.
No entiendo porqué el público está invadiendo las pistas
Ah yes. Sports
Four ‘women’ just like ‘men’ vs ‘boys.’
I love Jessica Hull. But, I met Lili Burdon at UW, and she’s a cutey too!
The start was incorrect. The starting line is straight. It should be a curve, with the outside runners slightly in front.
This announcer should be fired for referring to these adults as “girls”. Incredibly sexist.
I've been trying to marry Jess Hull for two years now, I just can't catch her to put on the ring.
She is married.
@@lourdes4855 it’s a joke about her being a fast runner. You must be fun at parties
@@DG-mk2nr not that fast at all
Get in line.
How do increase speed please
100m
200m
And 1600 abhi
Uhhh Sam McDonnel from Newberry ran a 4:33:11 as a high schooler
True but I assume that this is different cause of the indoor track otherwise these athletes could go way faster
She ran 4:43. Katelyn Tuohy ran a 4:35 as a high schooler tho.
The world record is 4:12
@@yellowplatypus2342 meh
69s 👌
1:12 True. We're all looking for 69s.
Lilli Burden is prolly Hottest girl out there… She has awesome running mechanics as well along with Jessica Hull… Oregon definitely knows how to recruit those Middle Distance Runners…
the debate over semantics in these comments is petty
How do they make a 4:30 look like an all out sprint the whole race?? That economy needs work.
I don’t see anyone that looks like they are sprinting until late into the race
@@carsonmalleet4367 They weren’t sprinting, but this is certainly the least effortless 4:30 I’ve ever seen. Most sub 4:00s look easier than this. Not saying I could do any better btw.
their strides are way too short. theyve got a cadence of somewhere around 200 spm, when they could be doing this with around 180
@@jakerussell135 180 spm being ideal for middle distance races is in large part a myth. Especially for females who are going to have an average height range of 5’4 to 5’8 for the most part. It would take some really big inefficient strides to maintain that pace at that cadence. I’d imagine that top D1 milers probably have more of an understanding of their own mechanics than the armchair sports physicians of RUclips.
@@peterparker1724 they were desperately trying lol
Hey a west coast girls event where men are not competing... rare
Why are the boys men and the women girls. Those ladies are women. Come on. BTW I’m a father of two Young WOMEN.
Well it is called the Women's Mile and the announcer said so at the start. And it is OK to call women girls, because women are always girls , but you wouldn't call men boys. Just be happy all the women running here were girls.
@@phoebus Your last comment not funny. And are you positive?
@@gwynnlyell2539 I was at that race and I can attest that all of the runners in Women's Mile were indeed real women, that is not always the case anymore.
@@gwynnlyell2539 Why did you delete your response, did you find out that Jenner never cut it off? None of the men running in women's track go though "gender" change surgery because then they would lose all the advantages of being a man in women's track gives them. And I don't think my response was "crappy." I know plenty of strong women who don't mind being called girls, in fact most of them like it. In my experience only women who take themselves way too seriously don't like it.
@@phoebus why wouldn’t you call men boys?
It will be no time before some Boy comes by and runs as a Girl and crushes these Girl's dreams forever
Mnnnb
Girls race and men’s race. Yeah. Women’s race and boys race. Yeesh.
Sage Hurta such a disappointment for the buffs
Why would you say that?
@@lizpurr8402 She still ran a 4:41.87 indoor not Bad.
