From brick escape "While fans who bought the $650 Venator to get an updated version of Rex will no doubt be annoyed that this “rare” figure will be appearing in a small cheap set mere months after launch, I think it’s a smart move by the LEGO Group for the general fandom, and also for kids who want a Captain Rex minifigure. (My 7 year old is beyond excited about this news…)"
I'm happy for everyone who gets rex. I would also be happy if Phase2 Cody came in a cheaper set. And I do have the ATTE and the exclusive Cody already.... I don't understand why people have to put others down or leave them out to feel special. I have Cody. I love him. He's a cool figure and he will still be all that even if he became availiable in a 10 bucks Set
It’s good for me. Yes it sucks for the people who bought that 650 set only for Rex, but the last time you could get Rex cheap was 10 years ago and an Walmart exclusive (I live Europe so no Walmart here) and imo it’s ridiculous how they can hide a Rex behind a insane pay wall.
I don’t even get the rant in this video. The Venator will still hold value after production ends, whether Rex is exclusive or not. It’s already most people’s #1 UCS set. Also, Rex has been a top requested figure for years, by fans who couldn’t afford the first figure. There are plenty of other rare figures out there for collectors. Rex shouldn’t be one of them. And I have the first one so I’m not saying this just because I want the fig. I simply don’t think highly requested figs should be behind huge pay walls.
@@Linus_Bthe rant is to prove there’s a super easy solution to make everyone happy which is to make different versions of Rex. I always try to find the common ground I don’t like to only argue for one side. That’s why I spent a few minutes talking about why they should do captain Rex like boba fett.
@@fivelonelyclones I don’t know. I can see both sides too, but Boba has had a lot of iterations and was never highly requested due to availability. When UCS Boba came out, he was released in a $199 set and most people had some version already, only making the new one a boon for those that wanted an even better one. P2 Cpt. Rex has been requested by most fans for a long time due to only ONE existing. Releasing a “lesser version” for those who can’t afford $650 when the problem with the first figure was pricing and availability would feel pretty back-handed by Lego. I see your point. But I disagree. I don’t think this one figure becoming more common will make him less talked about. It didn’t happen to Boba and the old Rex will still be valuable and talked about. If Rex became widely available and most people had him, THEN they could make an exclusive version. But Lego shouldn’t make one when most people can’t even get their hands on a P2 Rex to begin with. It just leaves a sour taste.
Completely disagree. Phase 2 Rex for cheap is unambiguously good, to say otherwise is anti-consumer. Fan favourite characters should be accessible to fans, not locked behind a $1000 AUD paywall. As someone who dabbles in collecting vinyls and CDs, with a few on the rarer side, I still find collecting to be akin to gambling - a rich man’s game played by poor people. If it gets to the point where consumers believe they need these products that they’re in no way able to afford, such as the Rex minifigure prior to the microfighter, then it really shows that, in general, there needs to be a deemphasis on the mindless consumerism of today. This is certainly not helped by artificial rarity and certain RUclipsrs feeding the delusion of collecting. Also you clearly have a vested interest in the success of 3rd party resellers, considering you advertise a 3rd party service on your channel, meaning your point on that would be disingenuous at best, especially when you claim it’s for the betterment of the community as a whole
Yeah I strongly believe resellers help the community. I mean that’s the main way to get retired sets that people missed out on and it’s really nice to have items still circulating around after lego retires them. That’s the beauty of the community, it shows how much fans love the lego company as their products never really get forgotten about and again resellers are a big part of that. Also I love alternative ways for people to hustle and make money that’s why I support reselling and I also love that people can always get their hands on sets even after they’re retired and gone that’s why I support the average fan/collector too. But what really disappoints me is the negativity and toxicity towards resellers. People just complain because they’re mad that people can make money and hustle off of a “toy” or they’re jealous that they get more sets. I just think it’s pathetic on the average collector’s end that complains. I want everyone to be happy I don’t want either side to lose or even be competing with each other. Unless there’s a valid reason, which there isn’t at all. And all of that tension is coming from the average collector’s side.
Man claims the community just complains as he ironically makes a video where he just complains 😂😂 I’m an adult Lego fan and have collected starwars since around 2000 but even with the growing adult community the majority of sales Lego makes are for kids we need to stop this narrative that Lego needs to pander to adult fans when kids are the primary consumers of legos I know y’all hate to here it and you can deny it as much as you want but legos are toys 🤷♂️🤷♂️
I never said it’s not a toy I just said the population of collectors is growing to be adults. And obviously lego panders to adult fans because they have 18+ sets and a lot of their ads say “adults welcome” 🤯🤯
“…I think it’s fair to get something a little extra besides the build…” dude the 5374 piece set that fans have been waiting YEARS for is more than enough. One minifigure in a UCS set is not that big of a deal.
I already had the 2013 Rex so this issue doesnt affect me that much but of i buy a 650€ worth set i want figs that are made to be part of something worth 650€ and not be available for 2 bucks and some change, everyone would have been ok with this of the 10 bucks set Rex was different and less deteiled than the 650€ set Rex, this Is Just common sense
@@alessiobittoni52you pay for the build and the parts not the exclusivity of a figure. Although people collect it as a hobby, it's still a toy. It's a toy company and their job is to sell toys. They do it best by pleasing most customers. Most custumers don't care about rarity. Most people want a cheap set that looks cool. Why should lego actively invest money to make new prints and molds just to make a figure worse and give other people a worse product? Just to please a handful of people like you by making you feel special? Why do you need other people to get worse stuff to feel good? So, car manufacturers should make worse and uglier cars every year just that you can keep on feeling good about your old car?
I agree that characters like Rex should be at least somewhat available and I don't mind different versions of figures being available in different sets. But I don't think you can compare lego to other collecting niches since there are so many people in the community that want to do different things with lego. Some people just want to collect them and put them in a box somewhere, while others want to build MOCs or dioramas which naturally is not cheap. Most other collecting niches are just interested in putting their items in a box or on display.
i think the reason people care more about clone troopers missing waistcapes than snow troopers is clones generally have white armour and black capes so they pop a lot more and thus are more noticeable when missing. with snow troopers its white on white so doesnt stand out as much
i would also add that clones are more renowned for being customizable compared to snow or storm troopers. there are so many unique and varied clone legions we know of that are distinct enough that they should deserve the details.
It feels like a lot of people are forgetting about the Admiral Yularen minifigure in the UCS Venator and only care about Captain Rex becoming non exclusive as opposed to Admiral Yularen’s exclusivity. But I do respect people’s opinions on the matter, after buying the Venator that included an “exclusive” Captain Rex
I agreed with FLC’s take on the Rex. I am 100% for people getting figures they don’t have. Didn’t get a Paz Vizla, get one in the new set. Need a phase 2 Rex here you go. BUT… maybe do something to keep it exclusive. Arm printing, duel molding, exclusive head/hair piece for the “rarer” figures. The Boba Fett was a perfect example of how it should be handled.
@MJW000 I disagree, if you're paying a certain amount of money you would expect something exclusive, doing the same character in a cheaper set, that's fine, but keep the other one a little exclusive
@@MJW000I would be fine either way. I think people take figures too seriously in UCS sets. But, a but of extra arm printing for exclusivity wouldn’t hurt too much. Though, I do want people to have access to everything. Idk, Im torn.
yes rare items are good and cool but having to the only options to buy one of the most iconic star wars characters be from a 750 dollar set or from a soulless reseller trying to sell the old one for hundreds of dollars is not good for collectors or just your average fan of lego star wars who doesnt care about rare figs/ collecting
11:48 No, it isn't. If a character is supposed to have a waist cape, they should get it. It looks infinitely cooler having a physical waist cape than a printed one, whether it's a named commander or an unnamed solider. People should either demand both to have physical waist capes, or let none have them. Hot Take (probably overheard): the SW community cares way too much about clones and it's getting very, very old. It's not even about the Clone Wars, as battle droids and such don't even get as much attention as imperials, it's strictly clones. And as for your personal hot take, I do agree with everything you said about rare pieces being healthy for the market, but your rant about how people hate on scalpers and the 3rd party market in general is completely invalid. Buying a set online or from Bricklink even at a cheaper price is just incomparable to buying it from a physical store. I should not be denied the joy of heading out to my local store and looking over the new sets finding which one I'd want to buy, just because someone was waiting from 6am to empty all the shelves and resell them in a few years for 10x their original price. This goes back to my hot take but personally I very much want a Rex's U-Wing with the exact same minifig as the Venator, bringing it down to less than $20, just so people might talk about Yularen and how he's also an exclusive figure yet is not talked about at all because people are biased towards clones.
The only reasons clones are as popular as they are is because these 20 years old that are know very influential on RUclips (maybe some guy who’s name starts with M) grew up watching the clone warts and prequels so of course they are bais. I think people would have the same opinion on the empire if they got a similar set up like the clone wars, and not seeing them as just the bad guys
@@handsomecatenjoyerlol I didn’t understand your comment at first but yeah that “random” guy always be complains whenever he doesn’t get at least ten clone sets per year

At least imo, the clown colored clone armors are no match to the Imperial Drip.
This is exactly my point. When the snowtroopers first came out, nobody had said anything about the waist capes, or if they did, it was very few and far between. But the moment clones don’t have a waist cape, everyone says they look terrible. Now I’ll admit that I do like clone troopers better than stormtroopers/snowtroopers, but you can’t just complain about for one and not care for the other. It hurts your argument
@@tavionmcneil64 I completely disagree with clone troopers looking better than stormtroopers, at least in Lego. While yes, stormtrooper designs have sometimes been lackluster, they usually always look a lot more formal and menacing. If anything, I wished they got waist capes and Rex didn't, just to piss off the salty, biased community. I'm tired of the SW community's obsession with clones.
terrible anti consumer take, this is a win for everyone who doesnt have $200 to spend on a single minifigure no matter how you spin it. its cool that ill get to see the arm printing when i thought theyd price me out of that. lego does support the aftermarket but it does not exist for the aftermarket
Yeah but it doesn’t mean we need to disrespect and neglect the after market like all you complainers do. That’s why I try to find common ground, hence making a different version of Rex for the Microfighter
Lego never tried to appeal to collectors of figures. They didn't build such a community. Those other things you mentioned are literally build on collecting. and Sneakers are 100% built of FOMO(Fear Of Missing Out) and artifical 'rarity' so they can charge more money for what it costs to make. That's not a good thing for your avarege consumer. Yu-gi-oh Reprints cards all the time. Magic The Gathering has been on blast almost every year for their artifical shit, even making a damn list of cards to not reprint too keep them rare lol. Keep your sets sealed of you want your stuff to keep its value and rarity. FIRST HOT TAKE COMMENT OF THE VIDEO: the 2015 AAT is far more accurate then the oversized renditions that are far too large to be accurate or to fit into Mocs that aren't made by RUclipsrs, as someone who's researched the tank itself its far more accurate in size than the 2008 or 2000 versions were. Not to mention the detail! the stacking on the body of the AAT is unmatched by any set lego has ever made for the vehicle.
The 2015 aat has grown on me over time. I snagged 2 last summer when I was on a buisness trip. They worked really well for my last moc. Want to snag a 3rd so I can remake the battler of Kaller from the BB once the new plane p2 clone BP releases.
I have all of the AAT sets, i have droids standing on all of them on the side and i think they fit best with the earlier models, the new ones look a bit too small but otherwise they are fine imo
Sure rare items may exist but captain Rex is one of the fan favourite characters that we have not seen for 10 years in a lego set. So to just have it in the venator would be frustrating for a lot of people, as the other phase 2 version is also one of the most expensive minifigures. A more niche figure like admiral yularen no one complains about because it's not one of the main characters in the clonewars TV show. And to then have to take a cheap nock of version for granted of inferior quality just so that everyone who spend 650 dollars on a lego set can have their own exclusive figure would just feel wrong for a lot of people as Rex is a must have for a lot of people. I grew up in the early 2000s and I honestly have more affiliation with a character like Rex or Ashoka than a yoda or r2d2 and have not owned a P2 captain rex and it has been one of my most anticipated minifigures for a few years now. Having it just in the venator would have been extremly frustrating and not suiting for a main character that gets as much screentime in the show as Rex does.
Hot take: Lego doesn't give us enough stormtroopers or rebel troopers. Also, we need better battle packs. The battle packs have become lackluster and lazy. Lego needs higher quality figures and larger, more accurate builds. Just add 20-30 more pieces, you can do a LOT more with that much.
People are plenty excited about minifigs that are widely available, and don't need artificially "rare" figs stuck behind huge pay walls to generate interest for LEGO or their products. And the secondary market should never be a consideration -- it's far too inflated, and the last thing the world needs is more middle-men dipping into their pockets.
@@merkabah9956 don't care about scalpers so his scalper counterpoint is mute. Rex isn't in literally every Star wars movie like the droid R2, and Yoda is far more significant than rex. He mentioned pokemon and Pokemon has done a ton over the past three years to make everything more accessible and affordable that I could write an essay on it. All I want is a simple classic looking Boba Fett because I like lego star wars the complete saga. Same with Davy Jones from pirates of the Caribbean. Idc about rarity. Making things more available as a general concept makes a collecting hobby more newcomer friendly. If you have every figure ever why would it matter if other people also have what they want and are happy about it?
Nobody cares about your resell value. Availability is important and it's great that people like kids can get Rex without shelving out 100 or more dollars. This type of complaining is incredibly negative and ignorant
Right?! It would be a great idea to just have the top halves of the legs be black, then have the uncovered portion of the white thigh armor printed on the front

Ahsoka wasn’t “nostalgia bait” it was a way to introduce thrawn in order to open doors for news series so Dave can continue to bridge the massive gap between episode 6 and 7
@@fivelonelyclones it was a very poor execution of introducing thrawn then, most people would say the best episode was the anakin one, where no one understood what the lesson actually was and was clearly drafted as, “we should have anakin/vader in it, that would be cool,” The best part of the show was just seeing the animated characters in live action, the whole thing just felt like Dave playing with his action figures, not an actual good story.

Wait people really thought that lego would keep that high demand of a minifig locked to a 650 dollar set? C'mon, guys rex cheap would print them money.
Rex should always be available for anyone to buy, no matter how butthurt investors get about it. Not our problem if they spent their own money on multiple Rex figures, their loss. Thats all i have to say about this.

My dear old fella: The first time, we got the current version of captain Rex is the UCS Venator, we got lately. This is good and fine. But for people like me, who generally like the figure but are not willing to buy an UCS for 1. beeing far to expensive for some of us and 2. beeing display only sets are not 100% their type this seem to be a bit inpractical. With a microfighter comming out, it is a lot easier to reach a captain Rex minifigure, without buying a multiple hundred $ set and it might be cheaper than buying a sole figure from the secondary marked (this is no complain, about the marked. I just say it might be cheaper). And about yout comparisson with Yoda and R2: Yes, we get plenty of them lately, but I am still happy, to have them. Durring the controversy of the UCS Gunship minifigs, the designer said, they want the figured to be avaiable for everyone. This of course is not the most accurate statement (I am still waiting for all the cantina aliens), but it is very plesant to see, that they keep their word in this case. So... You gave your hot take and I disagree with you.
@fivelonelyclones i agree but mainly because it is gonna look out of place with all of my other clones the arm printing makes that rex work a bit better as a display figure
@@CJ_1871I would love for you guys to have it, but I also think it’s common sense that the more expensive something is the nicer it’s gonna be. That argument can easily be turned around to “why can’t rich fans get something nicer than poor fans”. Talking about rich and poor fans is just irrelevant unless we’re talking about teenagers without jobs. it’s more of just which adults prioritize lego enough to spend $650 on it and which ones don’t.

Think you missed the point. Exclusive figures available characters is what I go by. It makes collecting more fun and interesting and benefits everyone not just people that can’t afford large sets. Also I’m not even a reseller I just like collecting exclusive figures
Hot take: Lego should stop putting minifigs In UCS sets. You are paying hundreds of dollars To get massive build not 1 minifig. Venator and LAAT are perfect examples. It would stop that nonstop complaining
Hot take: There shouldn't be any oversized USC sets. They don't work in any other setting than displayed by themself and feel way off next to other sets, the size increase doesn't seem to make them nearly detailed enough to justify it either. The only reason there are oversized models is to keep the USC label more exclusive and to make more money from the sets.
Hot take: CAC is completely trash they don’t look like Lego mini-figures. They are incredibly overpriced and I think there is no reason to buy them. Finally I think the everyone should buy Grandpa Clone Customs instead because all of their minifigures and helmets fit with the actual Lego clones.
I think the reason they aren’t making a different variant for captain Rex is because it’s close in time. They aren’t going to go crazy to update him and spend money on graphic design when they have one readily available. Characters get updated over years, not every time they are made
The reason why we as the lego community don't like the whole price speculation scalper stuff, is that us core fans of the brick love Lego for the way we can build and play with it and as Star Wars fans we love accuracy. The more people speculate with prices, the more it becomes a pure means of toxic consumerism and collecting addiction, which the company is eager to stir. Firstly that's bad for mental health even as adults and especially bad for children. And secondly it's bad because, as you said, Bricklink is owned by Lego and that means, they don't just make money of the good sets they design, but also of the absurd prices paid for their worst mistakes: Bad sets which went off shelf because they suck and misprints that they were too lazy to check in the first place. Take ridiculously pink Commander Fox for instance. He should never have come into existence, but he will most probably be sold for especially high prices on Bricklink, because the sales aren't high and he won't be long on shelves and Lego will earn its share every time one gets sold.
The scalper and investment argument is fine, but I don’t agree with the fact that we need that Rex to be a rare character for the health of the market. If one is concerned with having rare characters so that you have that comparison value, then have that be for other characters, but why should one of the most popular characters in the series be gatekept to those that have bigger pockets? Who cares if it’s more “hype” when you get a figure, because it would be even more hype if everyone was able to have the awesome figure. I think people’s concern with having rare collectibles is more a concern with status and their own collection, whereas everyone else just wants to have the *insert cool thing here*. I am hyped at the fact that, as a Lego Star Wars fan who is in law school and therefore has no money, I can buy the Captain Rex for $13 without having to buy a marked up second hand figure or the actual venator set, itself. To those who say “well, that’s not as healthy for the community and collection sphere,” kid me would say “who cares?” At the end of the day, my opinion has been, is, and will always be, cool Lego that’s CHEAP is better than cool Lego that’s expensive.
im happy ill get a cheap rex, bc. I'd never buy it for the current prices. But I also wouldn't mind if it was a different version, I just need one to stand in front of my 501st clones. Maybe the rumors aren't accurate, we'll see
I think rex is a character that most people want that character even non collectors could appreciate having a cool looking lego captain rex, I've kept my Galactic hero captain rex since I was a kid and he still sits on my desk. I don't have a collection of those toys and haven't for 5+ years since i gave all of them to my cousin but I couldn't get rid of rex. Thrawn is a character that i understand being very rare and makes sense to the points you brought up in this but rex is and has been one the most recognizable clones since the clonewars began production so not having him available is very very odd.
As a Coruscant Guard Gunship owner, I mostly agree. I wish they added something neat in the front section though, and I have some trouble getting my big meaty claws inside the troop bay. But all in all it's pretty neat
@@hydraulicecstasy8514 although I don't own one, my friend does and it is quite a struggle to actually fit the troopers in the troop bay without your hand getting scraped along the top. I think they probably could have done something with the front bit as well but the main problem is definitely the minifigs and also how the gave padme the wrong face lol.
in my opinion, rex should’ve never been in the venator to begin with, he’s too popular/ expensive of a character to keep exclusive to a $650 set. The second figure should’ve been like an exclusive anakin, where everybody has a anakin, but kept that specific one for the venator. Very few people have/can afford a Rex.
My perspective on ucs sets is that they should have no exclusive characters, but exclusive figs are fine.Using Rex as an example,I’m fine a more detailed version of him in the Venator but it shouldn’t be the only way to get Rex.By putting a version of him with say, plain blue arms instead of printed ones,in the micro fighter,it maintains the exclusivity of the ucs Rex while still letting anyone who wants a Rex an opportunity to get him;everyone wins! Also just a side note but hot take 6 isn’t even a hot take,it’s not even a take! It’s just an observation, like do you think it’s bad or good?My point is get better at writing
5:04 it's because Yoda is ugly af thats why, and R2D2 just looks like any other droid minifig, but captain rex? it's a very unique/different clone compared to other clones thats why the demand is there.
Hot Take: The mould for general grievous is bad. The arms are connected to the other sets of arms and you can’t spin the hands which is one of general grievous’ defining traits
Check the Magic the Gathering community and their take on rare card prices :) They do complain a lot about rare items. Overall Tcg communities often complain about the cards being too expensive. Currently Lorcana has a problem with scalpers due to low supply worldwide. Overall people who want a "toy" or a "game piece" rather than a collectible will always complain.
Hot take:I don't know why people aren't complaining about the amount of bad batch sets we got.People are complaining about everything except this.lego should make many more sets as it's been two seasons and we've only gotten two bad batch sets
I agree. LEGO had a chance to put Season 2 Omega in the advent calendar but they just re-used the Justifier one. I need Imperial Cody, accurate helmet Crosshair, Scorch, Republic Commandos, Season 2 versions of Clone Force 99, Riyo Chuchi, etc.

Disagree with you on the Captain Rex Hot Take, @fivelonelyclones. It’s like when commercials for movies say “exclusively in theaters”. The Captain Rex will be exclusive to the UCS Venator, but the minifigure will then be released in a different set. Also, how many versions of Captain Rex can you make as a minifigure?
How is it pathetic to tell fans obsessed with minute details to move to a medium where it's possible? Lego Star Wars fans are some of the most fragile people on the planet.
First time I disagree with the majority of the points in these videos. Rex already has an expensive variant from 2013 to be considered rare and it’s time to have a common one that is cheap to buy. So that rex fans can be happy without a hole in our wallets
Hot Take: In my opinion the old Chewbacca from the 2010 era is superior to the new one Lego has given us since 2013. I’m not just talking about nostalgia, I agree the new one is much more detailed and better in that way but the face looks extremely cursed and my biggest issue with it is the color, the new one is way to dark to represent Chewbacca
Hot take: there should be more Bad batch sets as we only have 2 and we are already entering the final season, at least one battlepack based on the Tk Troopers with the clone commado or Tk-shock Trooper would be cool
Hot Take: The arc 170 honestly doesn't need a remake. There are so many ships that need one more urgently .Vulture and hyena droids, the twilight and V 19 torrent which haven't had a set in far longer and or could have far more impressive improvements made
@@n_ex13 Is there a specific version of the Vulture droid you’re talking about? Last time we got a new Vulture droid was around the 2014 era of Star Wars sets (when we got the new version of Grievous). And the previous ARC-170 set came out a couple of years before 2014. So if you’re talking about Vulture droids in general, we don’t need a new set for them before a new set for the ARC-170. Hyena bombers I can understand, but not the Vulture droid.
my problem with the whole investing in lego is that sucks for a consumer like me who enjoys playing with lego sets as an 18 year old, let me have fun collecting a very cool minifig like rex and have him to pose for a diorama or be in a playable army rather than behind a massively expensive paywall
When you say “Rex wouldn’t be popular if he was a common figure”, you’re thinking of an extreme situation, Captain Rex being released in a cheap set really does benefit the community, and you’re probably right to a certain extent that high quality figures shouldn’t be released in a lot of sets, cheap ones too, but fans will continue to love Rex, just like there are lots of people who love Yoda and R2-D2. I still love your content, and thanks for using the Boba example!
Hot Take: It's ok for Snowtroopes to not have camas. This is because the cama on a Snowtrooper is white so it "blends" in with the already white legs on the Snowtrooper. Clones usually have grey, black or tan and those colors are a huge contrast towards the white legs, which is why camas on clones are a bigger deal.
me personally i think it would be better if lego made dual molded legs with printed kamas instead of the cloth ones, cuz they could make the kamas more detailed
Hot Take: Instead of a microfighter why didn't they go for a play version of the Blue Y-Wing, of the 7th season on clone wars or even a Y-wing size like the one in the Yavin set! Also I really think Rex won't be the exact same minifig! No chip mark, maybe blue arms... no pauldron! Something is off about those leaks.
If someone doesn't like the new Disney+ shows (like me), it's just more money left in the bank for other stuff. Shelf space is limited and I don't need every set to personally cater to me. I also think action figure collecting is cool, but you will quickly run into a problem: Vehicles. Or rather, the lack of vehicles. I collect Hasbro too and getting things like AT-TE, Gunship, AT-AT, ARC-170, AAT etc... are near impossible cause they are just not being made anymore. Especially when it comes to Black Series. Yeah the figures are great but half of the fun of Star Wars collecting to me is the vehicles. And since the figures are much bigger, the vehicles will be bigger as well, making them more expensive and taking up more room as well. And you'll be lucky if you get 1 or 2 figures with them too. Again if you can even hunt down a vehicle these days without going for retired ones that can be as stupid as retired LSW sets price-wise.

And don’t forget that certain European countries can’t even order stuff from lego’s official website
@@Linus_Bthe rant is to prove there’s a super easy solution to make everyone happy which is to make different versions of Rex.
It just leaves a sour taste.

maybe you shouldn't invest in a plastic toy in the first place...

Most other collecting niches are just interested in putting their items in a box or on display.
i think the reason people care more about clone troopers missing waistcapes than snow troopers is clones generally have white armour and black capes so they pop a lot more and thus are more noticeable when missing. with snow troopers its white on white so doesnt stand out as much
That’s true didn’t think about that
i would also add that clones are more renowned for being customizable compared to snow or storm troopers. there are so many unique and varied clone legions we know of that are distinct enough that they should deserve the details.

You're basically asking that Lego tries to artificially create "community excitement" when it'd just be worse for the consumer.
It doesn’t have to be “inferior” it can just be different heck it could even be better
We are getting the tantive hallway next year which will make stormtroopers and rebels readily available again
Cold take: every minifigure should be cheap and printed to be available

Idek what to say to this, like Flc had a whole rant about why this would be a bad idea…
@@merkabah9956 don't care about scalpers so his scalper counterpoint is mute. Rex isn't in literally every Star wars movie like the droid R2, and Yoda is far more significant than rex. His examples are bad. Excitement is found in the product itself not because it's rare. Gatekeeping isn't healthy.
Hey its shelling man. We should have kid shelling out 100+ to men who want money
Hot take: dual molded Kamos would work just as good if not better than physical Kamos.
It would be better than just the printing on the front of the legs.
Right?! It would be a great idea to just have the top halves of the legs be black, then have the uncovered portion of the white thigh armor printed on the front
Hot take: You said how Boba has a version of himself that is more collectable than others, but even if the new Rex minifgure is widely available there will still be the 2013 version if people want an exclusive version.
There’s multiple rare versions of boba as well as multiple cheap versions. No reason why Rex can’t be the same way since he’s so popular

I couldn’t agree more with hot take 4, Mando 3 was trash, Ahsoka was cheap nostalgia bait trash, tbobf was trash, Kenobi was trash, the only good things have been bad batch and andor which got very few sets compared to the other shows. I hear the leaks about the new Mando sets next year and just roll my eyes, literally would rather get anything else from prequel/ot era.

@@fivelonelyclonesI’m gonna buy the Rex Microfighter just to piss on scalpers
Imagine what would happen if Lego admits to the mistakes on the Captain Rex in the Venator and release an improved version in the microfighter. Lego could still say the Rex in the Venator is exclusive.
Im a 17 y o boy Who doesnt work so getting Rex in a 13 dollari set Is great and i honestly dont care of its the same One from the venator
Hot TAKE: Everyone always complains about not being able to acquire rare items regardless of what niche you're into and there's always someone like you bitching about the people complaining.
I’m 10 and I want that micro fighter, so yeah it’s not a bad set to release
good shit keep building
And about yout comparisson with Yoda and R2:
Yes, we get plenty of them lately, but I am still happy, to have them.
Microfighter should have a non arm printed Rex it’s that’s simple
@fivelonelyclones i agree but mainly because it is gonna look out of place with all of my other clones the arm printing makes that rex work a bit better as a display figure
@@fivelonelyclones Why should poorer fans get an inferior version to rich fans?
@@CJ_1871I would love for you guys to have it, but I also think it’s common sense that the more expensive something is the nicer it’s gonna be. That argument can easily be turned around to “why can’t rich fans get something nicer than poor fans”. Talking about rich and poor fans is just irrelevant unless we’re talking about teenagers without jobs. it’s more of just which adults prioritize lego enough to spend $650 on it and which ones don’t.
@@fivelonelyclonesThe rich fans are getting something nicer. The set does involve a 5K piece Venator and exclusive Yularen.
Hot take, Death star troopers battle pack isn't as bad as we all see it. It has a cool and accurate build with some epic minifigs, though it isn't a good army builder, It still is good to pick up 2 or 3.
I’ve never really seen anyone call it bad, I’ve always liked it
@@fivelonelyclones Glad someone else likes it. Maybe I have to rephrase, To like "better than what people say". I generally see it low on LSW tier lists and worst to firsts for battle packs.
That was one of my first battle packs, I love it very much
Hot take: Lego shouldn't have put a Y-wing in the Yavin 4 Lego set since the budget could have been used for more detail and fleet troopers.
I disagree that entire set doesn't hold up
Finally I don’t have to spend 100+ dollars on a figure I always wanted
Womp womp.
If other people being able to get the same version of a desirable character is devastating enough to you for you to make a 13 minute video crying about it, reevaluate your ideas about the franchise. Kids can purchase Rex for the first time in a decade. Scalpers are being absolutely f**ked over. It’s great. (And no. Scalpers =/= resellers. I sell on bricklink. I’m packing orders as I type this. I just don’t cry about it when a new version of a desirable fig is released, even if that hurts the value of something my in my store, because ITS A RISK OF THE GODDAMN TRADE)
Your saying hat having captain rex being exclusive helps the ecnomany and your saying to many people are complaining but you are also complaining
I’m complaining about people whining not the product
Characters get updated over years, not every time they are made
That’s true but I don’t think it’d be hard for them to just switch out the arms
@@fivelonelyclonesExcactly just give him plain white or blue arms
Cause fuck them poor who don’t deserve arm printing
The poor deserve arm printing too
@@fivelonelyclones Ah true.
To those who say “well, that’s not as healthy for the community and collection sphere,” kid me would say “who cares?”
At the end of the day, my opinion has been, is, and will always be, cool Lego that’s CHEAP is better than cool Lego that’s expensive.
I didn’t say he needs to be a rare character. I said he needs to be widely available with a different version. Preferably without arm printing
@@fivelonelyclonesoh no, someone poorer than me has something cool. Its ruining the value!!! Won't somebody please think of the value loss!!

Hot take: I wish Lego makes more unique sets like the ARC-170, droid trifighter, Vulture Droid, or sets they haven't made in years
Honestly who cares, a multi million dollar company is gonna do whatever they want to make more money
Hot take- the new coruscant republic gunship is actually quite good, the only problem is how they printed the fox minifig.
In the ucs set with Rex it should have arm printing and a waist cape but the 13$ Rex in the microfighter should have blue arms and a printed waistcape

Clones usually have grey, black or tan and those colors are a huge contrast towards the white legs, which is why camas on clones are a bigger deal.
me personally i think it would be better if lego made dual molded legs with printed kamas instead of the cloth ones, cuz they could make the kamas more detailed
