I instantly fell in love with Emmylou when ‘Pieces of the Sky’ was released in 1974, and I still listen to it at least once a week 50 years later! A splendid artist!
I was born in 1973. Jolene didn't throw away my play pen until she got the banker and made me a lawyer but I love Emmylou. That and George Patton and I have been some of the same people in boxing matches and at those damned to hell Reincarnation Political Parties. Still love Emmylou.
My hubby introduced me to Emmylou Harris when we began dating in 1977. My hubby, Jimmy has to be one of her biggest fans. When she performed at the Music Mill at Six Flags Over Texas, we chose our seats in the Texas heat with no shade, and stayed there for both shows (the power went out during one show). We were unable to see her again until a year ago, when she performed in Austin at the Paramount. She is still a wonderful performer, and we are so excited to be able to see her in Nashville at the Ryman, along with Rodney Crowell, in January. We traveled to New Braunfels to see Rodney Crowell within the past year, also. Retirement has its benefits! We will see you soon, Rodney and Emmylou! 😎
I respect, love and adore this woman!! She is sexy but in a classy way. She didn't need to shake her money maker or wear scadalish clothes to be sexy. She just has to play her guitar and sing. The way she holds herself you want her and respect her at the same time. She could sing with anyone. She is so humble in this interview. Notice how she gives credit to everyone else before herself. She also seems to cherish her friendships more dear to her than her fame. I seen a video with her in Sweden I believe. The king of Sweden was next to her. These two young, talented, beautiful young ladies honored her in a song. Emmylou cried. You can see in her eyes, that in her heart, knowing she inspired these two young ladies meant more to her than any award. Also, in the interview she spoke of how important it Is to play in a place where no one pays attention to you as you play. I was in a band myself and can attest to that. You gotta toughen up and learn from the bad to truly embrace the good. I'm sure having a Dad as a career Marine helped make her tough. She is a tough, sweet, beautiful, talented, honorable woman. She also has done awareness work on social issues as racism, animal cruelty and veteran outreach. I don't think she stays on a political side all the way. If it is important to her she helps. Being a Veteran I respect her deeply for that. So far my favorite work I have heard from her is TULSA QUEEN and all the colab work she did with Dolly Parton and Linda Rondstat.
EmmyLou's music has not only helped to lessen the load on many occasions, over the years, but, pointed in the right direction, done the same for others very dear to me. Thank You.
First time I ever saw Emmylou was in Greenwich Village when I was in high school (around 65) although I had no idea who she was at the time. I met her late 68 or early '69 at a bar in Norfolk VA - purely by coincidence . I was a Navy Aircrewman ferrying a rebuilt T-28 aircraft from Pensacola to NAS Norfolk. We were on a "remain-overnight" and I took a liberty bus down Hampton Blvd into Ghent to get something to eat - a girl about my age was playing at a little bar & grille on Colley Ave . I think it was either what's now called The Onion, or the place across the street from it. Ironically, over the past 30 years I have probably played a dozen gigs between the two of them. She had such a beautiful voice, and when she took a break, I told her she sounded like a girl I had heard in Greenwich Village when I was a budding high school folk performer in the 60s. She said she had played in a lot of clubs in GV, then kept on walking. Don't know - I may have been staring a bit too intently... I still had no idea who she was, but it wasn't long before she shot to fame with Parsons, her name and picture showed up on an album. and I knew exactly who she was.
So many great songs from her. My faves are “I Don’t Have to Crawl” from “Evangeline” and “Tulsa Queen” from “Luxury Liner” (such a lovely name for an album) 😍
The first time I saw Emylou was in the summer of 1975. She was exquisite and her band, the aptly named Hot Band smoked. I’ve now loved her for 45 years.
I have the best Emmylou story. I ran into her at a 7/11 in West LA in 2000. (Her daughter was going to college and living in the area). We walk into the store at the same time so I opened the door. She walks by and I recognize her. I head up an aisle looking for something. Next thing I know she's standing next to me. I tell I know who she is and we start talking. I then tell her that I was just on the internet reading stories about Gram Parsons. (which I was) She says, "oh, I don't like the internet." I immediately go into proselytizing about the internet and said, "don't be a Luddite. The internet is going to change the world." She starts laughing. She then says she's in town to play a benefit concert in a couple of days for Fred Walecki of Westwood Music. I tell her I was going to the show as a guest of David Crosby and that I would see her there. Now, this was an amazing show. A night of a thousand stars - Croz/Nash, Zevon, Henley, Jackson Emmylou & Linda Ronstadt, Ry Cooder and many more. So, the show is over and I'm backstage surrounded by my musical heroes, when Emmylou walks in the room. She looks around the room and sees me. She immediately starts screaming my name as she moves across the room - VICTOR!!! The room stops. She runs across the room and gives me a big hug. While she's hugging me she whispers in my ear, "Do you know how I remembered your name?" I was like, "Uh, yeah?" She started laughing and said, "You're the only other person besides Linda to call me a Luddite." It was a moment and it was awesome. What a sweetheart.
Oh my! I know Fred Walecki . I always went to his store to hang out and play with his great selection of guitars, I purchased several from him and he always took care of my guitars. He Became a friend to me. I was at that very concert, ha! Still have the T-Shirt. And a live taping of it done by an friend. I also met Emmylou at the Sunset Tower Record store, she was performing a free live concert of her Wrecking Ball cd. I sat on floor in front of her, amazing band and music. Later she signed her CDs, and was so very nice to meet. I also saw her and this band play live at a festival up near Yosemite.
Emmy the footage of you introducing your band ahead of your Tulsa Queen performance means a lot more to me now after hearing you talk in depth about your band 🎉❤
One of my all time favorites being interviewed by the guy who has to be the best in the business. What a superb combination. I've heard Emmylou sing live in a place noted for its excellent acoustics. Unforgettable! Joe, I swear anyone who wants to be an interviewer should watch your videos carefully. Like Emmylou, you nail it every time. That takes talent, but anyone who could get past their ego could learn a hell of a lot.
This is an interview I have always wanted to see. This lady is one of those artists who makes music that is timeless, and so special. If you listen to her albums she doesn't allow anything on them that she doesn't put 100% in to. She has some kind of special magic about her that is very soothing, very calming. A beautiful woman in every sense of the word, a special spirit. She is a one of a kind, and this is a real treat, Joe.
Joe I can't believe you're interviewing my Emmylou! I've adored and followed her since her early years! I have her albums! Her and Linda are my favorite female performers!
Joe I know I’ve said this before about your interviewing style but you have a knack of asking a question then sitting back and letting the person expand on their answer and not interrupting. Very rare with most interviewers today. What a beautiful lady inside and out! A very interesting career in music and you can tell she thoroughly enjoys what she does. I’m really looking forward to part two!
Joe doesn't make it all about Joe,which is a definite plus for these important archival interviews. Good hustle for her first guitar though Joe!Happy holidays to y'all
It is such a rarity to actually get to hear an interviewee talk anymore. Sad. So many interviewers make it all about them. I first found out about your fine museum when you hired Smilin' Jay. I have been Facebook friends with him for a decade or so. Loved BR5-49. Lord willing some day I'm gonna make the trip and check the museum out and say hi to Jay. Hope to get to meet you as well. I understand if you are busy with one of the awesome videos. Time passes and takes it's toll on all of us. It is good to get as many of these stories preserved as possible.
I've been a fan since Elite Hotel. Someone wrote her voice was a clear as a mountain stream. She kept the faith in Country music, recording Louvin Bros, Blue Kentucky Girl and many more. I've been lucky enough to have seen her about 5 times.
Such a real artist and great lady....I saw her in '82 with the Hot Band; those shows became the live album Last Date.....just awesome musicianship. Great post, thanks!
What a beautiful, talented & humble lady Emmylou is. You were lucky to get to interview her Joe. Looking forward to part 2 of this interview. Be well & stay safe.........
Emmylou has been in my collection since 1976. Her band was indeed a list of stellar musicians. Interesting she mentions using those guitars for a slide. That is precisely what my old Silvertone became. Little thin-ass frets, and that high action. I used a Bic lighter for the slide. One did what one could. Glad you did this interview, Joe. Phenomenal.
Beautiful voice, beautiful countenance, and probably a beautiful soul. Thank you Joe and Emmylou for such an excellent exchange. Blessings to you both. Doc
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum My pleasure Joe - I love you - I love all the great artistes you interview - I love everything you are doing - keep on keeping' on brother !
I had the chance to see Emmylou Harris in concert along with Mark Knopfler to do with his album, All The Roadrunning. It was a pleasure and an honor to see and hear her.
I don't know if you remember but when Emmylou Harris did an album with Mark many years ago the two were guest on The Don Imus Radio Show. I watched the interview on MSNBC many years ago. How fond is Emmylou Harris of Levon Helm? Also who should play Levon Helm in a movie about his life?
@@chaddawkins8525 I like your comment, Chad Dawkins, though I have never been a fan of Don Imus. I've listened to him but have generally kept my distance. As to Levon Helm, your question takes me by surprise. I am a Canadian living in Southern Ontario geographically close to where members of The Band: Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, and Levon Helm often moved about in the past. Of course, they were Ronnie Hawkins' band for some time in the Toronto area. You can visit Richard Manuel's grave in Stratford, ON. Rick Danko actually lived in my home town for a while. I understand Robbie Robertson has family in or near the Six Nations Indian Reserve near Brantford, ON. As to someone taking the role of Levon Helm in a movie about his life - personally, I prefer that Hollywood leave him alone and not taint his name and history. I've always enjoyed Levon Helm's musicianship. That voice! The way he sat behind his kit. He was unique. Funny, when I think back on my life The Band's music seems to have been pivotal. Their memory triggers the memory of old friends and acquaintances now relegated to my past. I'm sorry I was not able to answer your question as you perhaps would have liked, Chad Dawkins, but I am glad that you sent a comment my way. I'll bet you can tell that I'm an old guy.
@@chaddawkins8525 I got to shake hands with Levon at a show he did in Baltimore but ended up talking to his road manager, Butch. He was the best drummer who sang and the best singer who played the drums.
What a humble person she is stating she first learned 3 chords on that $30 Guitar and then saying that's about all she knows now ... very cautious to not toot her own horn ... very humble! What I'm saying is ... she definitely knows more than 3 chords now ... you can't have Albert Lee as your lead guitar player in your band ... and not know bar chords and power chords. Albert Lee for those that don't know of him in one of the top guitarist in Country music. He's in the league of players like Vince Gill , Chet Atkins , Roy Clark and many others. I'm sure she learned quite a bit from Albert Lee and the other guitarist she's had in her band ... and she is still a very Beautiful woman with a fantastic voice! 👍👍😎
"It was love at first sight they knew nothing about each other they met and here I am." I met my husband from NC in the Seattle Airport by chance in 2011. Here I sit in Texas nearly 13 years later holding 2 beautiful babies in my arms. Thank you Emmy Lou for your way of reminding us of the magic of life.
RIP Joe Chambers. He was a man who really loved musicians and honored them. Wonderful exchange with the exquisite Emmylou. I would have liked to have heard a little more about the Hot Band, especially my hero Albert Lee.
Steve Drake, thank you for you kind words & continued support of the channel…. My dad, Joe, would have really appreciated it & so do I. Hope you can visit the museum sometime. All the best, Britt
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Thanks, Britt! Your Dad was a blessing. God bless you and your family! YES! I'll visit the museum and just feel all the loving vibe. Music is very emotional and historic. Joe was dialed in on that.
I totally agree Steve, music is emotional & historic, and that’s exactly what you will feel in the museum. Thank you for your kindness, look forward to your visiting. God bless you too, Britt
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Brit I had not heard your dad died. I have enjoyed many of your dad's interviews. This is probably at least the 3rd or 4th time I've watched these two interviews with Emmylou. Best interviews of her I've seen. I was reading comments and ran into this. My condolences. I hope you can keep the museum going. I'll probably never be able to, but I would love to see the enactron truck. So much of the music I loved in the 70's was recorded with it. JK
JK, I love that you’ve come back to watch this interview so many times. Your sweet words & continued support of the channel mean so much. Dad passed September 28, 2022- we posted the celebration of life we had for him at the museum on our channel if you want to watch. So many people are blown away with the enactron that weren’t even sure what they are walking into… I so wish you, who actually has knowledge about it, could walk thru, I know it would be so much fun for you. My hope is that you will find a way to make it to the museum, we continue to add exhibits & I am sure you would spend all day there. Let me know if you make it! All the best, Britt
Another outstanding interview Joe. You got great taste in music/musicians. Gram and Emmylou are among my all time favorites. I was born in '72, but always attracted to the music from that era. You just can't beat the music from the early to mid 70's.
Awesome interview Joe! Emmylou is absolutely incredible as a guest! She is so quick to give credit to all those who helped her along the way! And, her gratitude shows! And, it is so sweet that she offered you her first guitar for the MHOF Museum! Can’t wait for part two! 💫
Steve.... my wife would die laughing at “my charm” if she reads this:) Thanks for watching as always... I appreciate your supporting our videos... Merry Christmas...Joe
Emmylou has the voice of an angel. Love everything she sings. One of my favorite singers. Thanks for the great interview, Joe. Looking forward to part 2.
I was a Sr. At UW when Elite Hotel came out. Emmylou’s legs on the cover drew me in and her talent kept me with her. Good Lord I crushed on her hard. Saw her live in Spokane in late 70s . Beautiful voice and beautiful soul.
3:05 "I didn't know it wasn't supposed to be difficult to play and make your fingers bleed." That girl started with a LOT of dedication toward getting where she wanted to go.
Emmylou Harris, what an absolute legend she is in country music. Such an unaffected and gracious person she is as well. Another great interview from you, Joe. Thank you so much for drawing all these stories out of the artists you talk to.
Joe Sir,you must have known i needed to see this today...THANK YOU...she is my everything in a women...this women could have me as her servent for life..lol...she is so beautiful inside, what is seen is a messenger from Love...wow...i would drive way out of my working area, just to be near her..to work her shows, all of her journey has been blessed with the true spirit of Love..hope she talks Laruel Canyon days in part 2...my favorite picture is her n ol friend Mr. JOHN PRINE..together..long ago..before we found all this white hair..lol..bless you Joe..you are a great guy..glad we share in this Love..Peace be with you..💜👑
If I never heard a note or even knew that she played with some guy name James Burton ( who ever the hell that is ) Ha. she would still be the berries to this 68 year old guy just for the reason she supports Vietnam vets and is a big time animal lover and Ms Harris is my all time Sweetheart of the Rodeo... Thanks Joe.
She is just Total Class !! And Albert Lee is just Amazing on the Guitar i first seen him with Eric Clapton in 1979......and Emmy really gave a Great in-depth interview for you !
I live near Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA. The 1932 painting Sweetheart Of The Rodeo was by artist Jo Mora, who lived in Carmel. He spoke at my school once. That album cover was of a very famous painting.

I was waiting in this episode for Emylou to talk about the reason or why she has always played Gibson guitars. It's 'cause her playing the Super Jumbo 200 in the 70's that I got into playing Gibson guitars. Open and candid her story. Once again you let the subject narrate their own tale. Thank you Joe!
Has there ever been a combination of talent beauty elegance and class like Emmylou? I yelled out a marriage proposal to her at one of her shows - and I was serious.
@@jondough4227 LOL - and she didnt accept either one! My embarrassing drunken propossal happened in the 80's- not sure what year - that entire decade is a bit fuzzy.
Great interview of this incredible artist. I first saw her while watching David Frost show in 1970 as a folk singer. She was seven months pregnant with her first daughter. What an incredible journey after that !! Looking forward for the second part.
Wow Joe. What a wonderful interview. She is such a class act lady. I love how she looks so stoic when she sings. Its Awesome to hear her tell her story. 👍🏻😎
Once upon a time I ended up getting a seat right next to the stage right in front of Emily Lou at the Roxy -- and I was tripping on 'shrooms. I was seated just a few feet from her. It was one of most amazingly spiritual trips I've ever been on. Her beauty and her voice are a blissful experience. Every one of her songs sent me to Heaven. She's an Angel.
I saw Emmylou in the early 70's at the Capitol theater in Passaic N.J. she wasn't as widely known at that time but I became a fan because she had ( and still does) a beautiful, soft voice with such emotion behind it. Been listening ever since.
Beautiful interview, with insights we have never heard before. Thanks so much. I do wish you had asked about "Boulder to Birmingham". If that was the only song she wrote in her life, she is an absolute genius. That's a song that feels like it comes from every heart that has been broken by losing a loved one.
Really enjoyed This interview and how candid Emmy Lou is in it. I was a hot band fan when I was young, and Emmy Lou was amazing then. Later on I discovered GP and all the connections. I’ve been enchanted with all of it for 40 plus years, this music and the scene around Emmy Lou for all This time has helped shaped my love for music. Boulder to Birmingham has always been a favorite and early on I knew what it was about. I love all kinds of music and Emmy Lous career has been so special for me. Thanks for the interview to all of you.
Beautiful Emmy Lou...I can't find the words to express what an influence she has played in my life. I have "eaten up" every album She has made like a box of candy... I have had the pleasure to meet her twice. She is as real and humble as they come...Just pure Magic.
I like the awareness Ms. Harris has, understanding that she's there speaking with Joe, in relation to all the experiences which came before. That "now" is part and parcel to a long line of previous life events. Seems obvious been it's something that's not often kept in mind. What an interesting lady.
@Rick Stone. You may have already read this. Emmylou said "When I get to the Gates of Heaven and St. Peter asks me what did I do on Earth, I will be able to say with pride that I played rhythm guitar for Albert Lee"! Thank you Emmylou for sharing your talents with us. Hope you can keep on sharing for many years to come.
My oh my. She's awesome. I remember high school in the 70s and my math teacher gushed over her one day instead of teaching. I'll never forget that. Now in my 60s I still have that crush.
She's been the most beautiful woman in music for 50 years, and she has yet to relinquish her title.
Still is. ❤

Joe I can't believe you're interviewing my Emmylou! I've adored and followed her since her early years! I have her albums! Her and Linda are my favorite female performers!
Hi Philip.... part two is coming... Merry Christmas..Joe
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Back atcha Joe I look forward to your videos. Unfortunately I can't support you financially.
The thought counts... best..joe
Thanks again Jim... very kind... part two is coming... Merry Christmas..Joe
Jim, perfectly stated and thank you for it.
Great interview Joe. She is so beautiful. Love the Kay story, but the babysitter story beats all.
Thanks again for watching Playpen...Joe
I've been a fan since Elite Hotel. Someone wrote her voice was a clear as a mountain stream. She kept the faith in Country music, recording Louvin Bros, Blue Kentucky Girl and many more. I've been lucky enough to have seen her about 5 times.
Such a real artist and great lady....I saw her in '82 with the Hot Band; those shows became the live album Last Date.....just awesome musicianship. Great post, thanks!
What incredible graciousness, gratitude, and humility you exude Miss Emmylou. A breath of fresh air indeed.
Another excellent interview Joe...love Emmylou...thank you!
Thanks for watching Gene... Joe
What a beautiful, talented & humble lady Emmylou is. You were lucky to get to interview her Joe. Looking forward to part 2 of this interview. Be well & stay safe.........
Hi Steve... I’m lucky to have gotten everyone on this series and especially Emmylou... thanks again...Joe
Phenomenal.
Thanks Johnny... Merry Christmas...Joe
Beautiful voice, beautiful countenance, and probably a beautiful soul. Thank you Joe and Emmylou for such an excellent exchange. Blessings to you both. Doc
Thanks Phillip.... Joe
Great interview ! Emmylou is lovely - my friend Albert, played guitar with her - Thank you Joe - you are such a great interviewer
Thanks Bernie….Joe
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum My pleasure Joe - I love you - I love all the great artistes you interview - I love everything you are doing - keep on keeping' on brother !
Best quote I ever heard about Emmylou. “She could harmonize with a chainsaw”
Such a class act!! Love her voice. 3 chords and the truth.
Thanks again Joe for another gem - Letting Emmy tell her story. ✌️❤️
Thank you Rick.... Merry Christmas....Joe
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Merry Christmas, Joe.
Be safe and healthy!!
@@Teachering Wow this is so cool. You gave me more than enough sir. Peace & Love!!! 🙏❤☮✌🕊💖😊
@@chaddawkins8525 I got to shake hands with Levon at a show he did in Baltimore but ended up talking to his road manager, Butch. He was the best drummer who sang and the best singer who played the drums.
@@steveh46 I believe so as well. Thanks for letting me know!!!!! 😊💖🕊✌☮❤🙏😁
You couldn't write "Boulder to Birmingham" and not know more than three chords!
"It was love at first sight they knew nothing about each other they met and here I am."
I met my husband from NC in the Seattle Airport by chance in 2011.
All the best,

@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Thanks, Britt! Your Dad was a blessing. God bless you and your family! YES! I'll visit the museum and just feel all the loving vibe. Music is very emotional and historic. Joe was dialed in on that.
I totally agree Steve, music is emotional & historic, and that’s exactly what you will feel in the museum. Thank you for your kindness, look forward to your visiting.
God bless you too,

All the best,
Britt
Another outstanding interview Joe. You got great taste in music/musicians. Gram and Emmylou are among my all time favorites. I was born in '72, but always attracted to the music from that era. You just can't beat the music from the early to mid 70's.
Thanks James... I love the 60’s snd 70’s music too. Especially those early to mid 70’s like you mentioned. Merry Christmas... Joe
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Merry Christmas to you and your family too brother.
Awesome interview Joe! Emmylou is absolutely incredible as a guest! She is so quick to give credit to all those who helped her along the way! And, her gratitude shows! And, it is so sweet that she offered you her first guitar for the MHOF Museum! Can’t wait for part two! 💫
Thanks Larry...Joe
This is great, Joe. I don't think I've ever seen Emmylou look so relaxed and at ease in an interview. Must be your charm!
Steve.... my wife would die laughing at “my charm” if she reads this:) Thanks for watching as always... I appreciate your supporting our videos... Merry Christmas...Joe
Emmylou has the voice of an angel. Love everything she sings. One of my favorite singers. Thanks for the great interview, Joe. Looking forward to part 2.
Thanks Cliff.... part two is coming... Joe
I saw her live, with the Hot Band, at my college sometime in the early 1970's. What a great show. Very high energy. I've always remembered it fondly.
Thanks Joe, i've loved Emmylou's music since i bought Pieces of the Sky
and Elite Hotel in1975...
Thanks ian...Joe
She sings like an angel. ❤
What a parade of top-flight country rock guitarists she's had in her band through the years. Amazing!
I was a Sr. At UW when Elite Hotel came out. Emmylou’s legs on the cover drew me in and her talent kept me with her. Good Lord I crushed on her hard. Saw her live in Spokane in late 70s . Beautiful voice and beautiful soul.

Thanks Joe.

Who didn’t James Burton play with seriously
hearing and seeing emmylou harris whether 40 years ago or now stops me right in my tracks.
What an amazing time to be introduced to the musical people who she met. Just amazing wish I had been in those places with those people.....

She is just Total Class !! And Albert Lee is just Amazing on the Guitar i first seen him with Eric Clapton in 1979......and Emmy really gave a Great in-depth interview for you !
Its because of the love in your heart that you became fortunate! You Know That.
Great interview, Thanks Emmylou
I live near Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA. The 1932 painting Sweetheart Of The Rodeo was by artist Jo Mora, who lived in Carmel. He spoke at my school once. That album cover was of a very famous painting.
I was waiting in this episode for Emylou to talk about the reason or why she has always played Gibson guitars. It's 'cause her playing the Super Jumbo 200 in the 70's that I got into playing Gibson guitars. Open and candid her story. Once again you let the subject narrate their own tale. Thank you Joe!
Hi Jose... more Gibson info coming in part two... Merry Christmas...Joe
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Yes! I always enjoy when you ask the guest on their gear! Keep it up!!
Has there ever been a combination of talent beauty elegance and class like Emmylou? I yelled out a marriage proposal to her at one of her shows - and I was serious.

Beneath Still Waters there’s a strong undertow.. What a song and what a great singer! Looking forward to seeing her first guitar in the MHOF.
Joe, this is gold. Thanks and Happy Holidays!

I saw Emmylou in the early 70's at the Capitol theater in Passaic N.J. she wasn't as widely known at that time but I became a fan because she had ( and still does) a beautiful, soft voice with such emotion behind it.
Been listening ever since.
Her voice is so versatile. I’ve heard songs and wondered who was that? That’s EmmyLou.
This is a tremendous interview. Thank you so much.

@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Merry Christmas Joe!
Fortunate to have seen her with John Prine at Red Rocks.
I saw her with John Prine in Huntsville. Fantastic show. Her voice live in a small theater is extraordinary.

Such an incredible artist is she. Never missed a her shows when she played at The Crazy Horse in Santa Ana, California. Loved that venue.
loved hearing this interview....we all watched this for the same reasons (stars aligned), great channel and artist.

Albert Lee was certainly a big part of her success. He’s one of the best country guitar players in the world.
Frank Reckard did a hell of a job for her as well.
@@tomcoryell not to mention James Burton in the original Hot Band
@Rick Stone. You may have already read this. Emmylou said "When I get to the Gates of Heaven and St. Peter asks me what did I do on Earth, I will be able to say with pride that I played rhythm guitar for Albert Lee"!

My oh my. She's awesome. I remember high school in the 70s and my math teacher gushed over her one day instead of teaching. I'll never forget that. Now in my 60s I still have that crush.
