      On the job work experience is more important than a college degree when it comes to construction management. You can certainly get an associate degree with hand on experience to become a construction manager. You can also get a bachelors degree in civil Engineering and work as a civil engineer for about an year and two and then move on to construction management. Hope that helps

    So at the moment, I am on the quest to completing my civil engineering degree and plan on using my degree as construction project manager. Now my question is a project manager the same thing as superintendent where they are on site in a trailer, checking up on different foreman's making sure that the project gets done. Also, what do mean that you prefer Engineer than Pm really not sure about that point.

    • @SheWhoDaresWins
      @SheWhoDaresWins  6 лет назад +1

      Hulk2537 sounds like a great plan! Yeah project managers for the company I work for are generally 50/50 on site in the office or at a head office off site. Regarding my engineering vs project management, I prefer the engineering as project management can get a little boring and incredibly stressful. Engineering has a nice balance between being busy with a little stress and not having to constantly take part in meetings or being stuck in front of a computer screen. Only my point of view though. I know plenty pm’s who love it. Guess you have to try it first to see

You’ll probably start off as a Project Engineer or Assistant PM, but people w/ engineering degrees (specifically mechanical, architectural, and civil) do very well in construction management.
