- We hinted last week that we had a new edition coming to the Waterjet Channel Family. We had several large crates show up at the shop over the last week. This was the week of install for the amazing new 5 axis Flow Waterjet. We showed the full process of what it takes to install a waterjet and then we had some fun with it.
What should we do with the new 5-axis waterjet? We've got some great plans and can't wait to show you what's in store.

@hotaru25189 a comparable model to the one in the video from 2008 is $100,000 used. I have seen some smaller ones as cheap as $10,000
Something Nothing this model retails in the neighborhood of $250,000 I’m pretty sure

Its getting through the door thats the real problem. honestly, so what it takes them an extra hour to set up, they need to optimize their shop because they will probably be using that same machine in 10 years

@@pws3rd170 If you have the clearance around the door then getting it in is actually pretty easy. I used to bring 16Ft lumber through 12ft doors all the time.

@@DONK8008 - Yes, that was in there a good way. So, if you ever need to punch a hole in your ceiling in a potentially lethal way, you just need a waterjet, and a skateboard.

I also work with water jets but in an industrial scale. All my equipment is portable and its 40,000 psi. I go into refinerys and such and cut out reactor's and big piping and such. Love your channel guys.
This new waterjet is worth at least 250 000 new subscribers !
Having recently binged many dozen of your videos, this might be my favorite so far. Those underwater shots had a unique kind of artistry and I'm glad you took the opportunity to get them.

yes. Its to cut those materials that 60000 just isnt enough for.

It actually has 4250 bar, so 61,641 psi^^ The Mach 500 could be bought with an 6500 bar pump, so almost 95,000 psi :O
@@F1u0r But is there really a need to go over 60000 psi? because the only hard time waterjets have is when cutting aluminium nitride ceramic plates. 60000 psi waterjets will cut everything.

Love the underwater shots! I run a waterjet at work and have been told that a guy who worked there before me accidentally cut a hole in the bottom of the tank from dwelling too long... I can neither confirm or deny
My boys got that upgrade. We had 3-axis Flow Mach 2b (4020b). Don’t use flow nesting because it is ehh. Also the guy from Flow is named James, cool guy.
FlowNest is junk. I use Radan and export the nests as a dxf. Flowxpert cant handle top many parts, it gets bogged down. Your best off making a small nest and using FlowCut to create an array..
Tony Langton I use multiple programs to nest for different situations. Majority of times I just end up using Inventor Nesting because it will automatically change the nesting(this only happens, if you made .ipt on inventor).

Jason from Fireball tool mentioned if you leave it on in one spot long enough it’ll cut through the floor of the tank. But I think his was like 94k PSI or something crazy. And he may have been talking about with abrasive. Either way, I’m stoked to see what y’all cut!

I work water jet and the difference between this new machine and the older machines is crazy. They got the newest mach and it’s way less bulky than the older ones and has way smaller components and everything is more compact and nice
Not even to mention the 5 axis’s which would allow for cutting at almost a 90 degree angle

This is so cool on how they got a new water jet it looks amazing and I like seeing the tank with clean water for the first time

I remember learning about these machines in Orange County Choppers, back in the day. I´m from germany so it was running on a different TV station here but I still remeber how they work, what they cost and what they can do. It was fun to see, that someone ordered one and youtube recommended that;D

I hope you guys have better luck with the new flow than many of the people I know have had. Personally I will never buy another Flow after helping friends maintain and repair theirs.
