It’s amazing that they ever get work done but i guess it goes to show that a positive work environment promotes productivity. this is definitely the pinnacle of blue collar careers as far as fun goes (aside from rope access window washers and the like)
It was incredibly satisfying watching you pour the garnet through the hopper mesh. Please show that again whenever you need to fill it. I can't be the only one...
As someone who regularly operates a Flow brand waterjet very similar to the one you've replaced, I assure you that with the enclosure completely filled with water there can still be damage caused to the bottom of the tank. Upon changing out our intensifier it is regular practice to allow the pump to run for 15 mins without abrasive. This is to ensure there are no issues with the rebuild of the intensifier. In the past we have had an operator follow this procedure with abrasion accidentally turned on. This did leave a tiny hole into the bottom of the tank. It was a huge pain in the ass for 2 months (no on believed me when I said there is probably a hole in the bottom of the tank). So each day we while operating the waterjet another and I would vaccum about 75 gallons of water from the floor with a 5 gallon shop vac. Finally when emptying garnet from the tank during maintenance, management was talking into investigating the 'leak' (it was hard to ignore at this point). The solution to the issue was simple. It was filled with weld. I saw someone ask in the comments if you can cut a waterjet out of a waterjet. The answer is yes, all non mechanical parts can be cut on a waterjet. We have refurbished our enclosure multiple times this way. All internals (pumps, attenuator, intensifier etc...) are pressed, or precission lathed and machined. They would need to be worked on other machinery or outsourced.
7 Reasons Why You NEED a Waterjet: 1: To make circles. 2: To make circles. 3: To make circles. 4: To make circles. 5: To make circles. 6: To make circles. 7: To cut things in half for RUclips, and then make circles.

@@WaterjetChannel well youve come along way guys, and tbh that lil bit of awkward is part of the charm. keep up the great work, its very much appreciated sirs!
Ok, you've convinced me. I'll take the old waterjet off your hands since you have a new one and don't need it anymore. I'll give you five bucks and a piece of string. Oh yeah, you gotta deliver it, I don't have a truck
Water jet operator here, you can blow a hole in the bottom of the tank. We hired a new guy and we were teaching him how to weigh the Garnet, do the nozzle test and flow test after cleaning the nozzle and mixing tube. The default test is 60 seconds. We never do that we only run it for maybe 5 seconds. He ran all the test for 60 seconds. Pump only, water only, Garnet flow/weigh then water plus abrasive. The water plus abrasive is just like a cut and he blew a hole in the bottom of the tank in 45 seconds of the 60 second test. The tank was about 50% full of abrasive. It was high pressure at 45K PSI and .030 mixing tube.
This is my favorite channel on RUclips. What are you guys gonna do with the old waterjet? Comparison video? Kill the waterjet with the other waterjet? Thank you for existing
I operate a Mitsubishi X3-612 with a KMT Streamline Pro 2 that runs at 90k PSI. AKS Water Cutting now makes this machine but it's really an amazing machine. It's also a 5-axis but only goes about 6° to compensate for taper on thicker material. In currently running a 12 foot tilt rack gear on it that's 4" thick steel and will take the next 20 hours to complete. Good luck!
Hey guy's, I saw your knife models and I think you even can prepare the cutting edge with it, please show them to the public, I didn't know you could do those things with it, very nice work I love it. Thank you.
5:23 I think you might mean they've been hardened and annealed, and reheating them softens the steel again. The hardening process already strains the material quite a bit (you're literally forcing it into a crystal structure that does not want to exist at room temp) so you typically want to only do it once.
Your not wrong it is my dream of someday owning a water jet just a small one but until the medical bills stop that isn't happening but until then I get to watch you guys do awesome stuff with one 🤟

speed is relative, but i expect it would cut like a hot knife through butter... alabaster is a beautiful material... personally though, i would love to cut quartz and granite... i found a piece of pink granite by my local river a while ago, and since i got an angle grinder bit that uses diamond for flattening, i was able to polish one side of that rock fairly well though not perfectly of course due to the coarseness of the cutting surface, but even so, it worked out great. almost makes me want to tour the granite sheds in Barre Vermont, and maybe ask to run some machines there lol... im a geologist at heart though, but machines fascinate me too.

linus452345 yes depending on what size mixing tube you are running the water will cone out at different ratios. Most mixing tubes are set for .060 over the surface cutting so that’s the point where the stream will cut a perfect .030 cut like the mixing tube. As you get further away the cut gets wider. Considering they now have a 5 axis you can program the nozzle to compensate for the sway left on the part so it will cut 100% straight from top to bottom unlike a 3 axis machine.
