- Welcome to Trackside with SAGA Motorsports! In this show we are trackside at Circuit of the Americas for a Porsche Club of America HPDE (high performance drivers education). We had an eventful weekend being joined by John Wester, founder of SAGA Motorsports and TJ Kroehle, a pro-driver and instructor.

Great discussion
Great talk guys!
I do a lot of instruction in super cars and the most common thing that's said to me in the 488GTB is "man, this thing has a ton of turbo lag." It's hard for people to understand that when on exit of a turn to the straightaway at 50-60mph and they mash the pedal, if the nannies weren't on they'd dynamite the tires and end up in the wall. Nannies are great for learning, but I agree that when you get a a certain level they can be more invasive than helpful.
As we progress through time as drivers and "seat time" you can start to realize what you want from the car. It even takes a good amount of time to get to the point where you can understand balance and attitude of a car. Then to realize some of the balance problems are actually caused by our inputs vs the car is a whole other story.
@@sagamotorsportscouldn’t agree more. When I tell people I rotate my car with the brakes and throttle and use the steering wheel as more of a suggestion than anything, they look at me like I have two heads.
@@ApexHunter89 Haha
The pedals is where the magic happens, the steering wheel is simply a suggestion of where you want the car.
