- Join us for Formula 1 2022 USA Grand Prix weekend at Circuit of the Americas Austin, Texas! I will bring you along for our entire experience and show you what it was truly like to be there - EVERYTHING, scoping out general admission ticket seating and viewing areas, crowds, parking, food, drinks, concerts like Green Day and Interpol, the massive COTA 10th birthday cake, celebrating with free cake and ice cream, riding a ferris wheel over the race track, El Pulpo Mecanico flaming octopus bringing some Burning Man vibes, the MASSIVE crowds of over 400,000 Formula 1 fans having a blast, and of course all 3 days - practice day where we explored the entire COTA and all the themed areas and attractions, qualifying day, and RACE DAY, with the fireworks, TRACK INVASION, and so much excitement going on - and everything in between in our incredible and unforgettable race weekend adventure. Being there in person is SO DIFFERENT than seeing it on TV or on the popular Formula 1: Drive to Survive Netflix series, it was so cool to see how it all goes down in person, and also see some of the celebrities you'll see on the show, and some of the crazy ways they film the races! We tour the entire COTA (Circuit of the Americas) and bring you into the authentic experience on the ground from the fan's perspective of the F1 United States Grand Prix in Austin Texas - ONEderland, rides, music, food, COTALAND, everything! Fantastic video!! I was one of the marshals working in turn 1 (I was stationed up near the American flag).You captured so many of the things I've wanted to see happening around the track but can't get around to them due to my work assignment. Its always a long weekend but the 3 day ticket is the best value for sure. You're right about Sunday morning. We were getting our gear setup and ready when all of a sudden the crowd comes flowing in to claim their spot on the hillside! It was great meeting so many people as well. I can't recommend it enough!

Your seats at the race reminded me of watching the fireworks at MK. You think you've got a good spot and then people stand in front of you..at least no one had their kids on their shoulders!! LOL...Jackie, your enthusiasm is amazing. I'm glad you had a good time! I have anxiety from watching all those people! ❤️❤️
I've only been to one race track, the Texas Motor Speedway in Ft Worth. Weirdly enough, it was for a concert, not a race, Rockfest 97. The crowd was about the same size, though.

Great coverage of the spectator experience we don't see anywhere else. I went to a Formula 1 Grand Prix as a child almost 60 years ago, in East London, South Africa. We were also on a grassy hill. Things have not changed. I remember the high pitch engine noise.
I love F1 racing & have been to the Belgian F1 race in 1999, totally awesome & I was within walking distance to the Melbourne F1 circuit & volunteered a number of times. It really is an exciting time 👍

hahaha well COTA had lots of hilly and elevated bits so I don't think I'd see a dog run away there at least!

Green Day is my absolute favorite band of all time!!!!!!! I've been following their career since I was 10 (19 years now lol). I absolutely love them to pieces! I'm so happy that you got the chance to see them in person! I've done it twice and each time the energy is amazing! Just watching this made my little punk rock heart happy :) from someone who can't make it out to see them, thank you!!!

Green Day rocks have y'all ever been to Daytona to watch a race there 200mph inches apart 2.5 mile track its awesome
Haven’t done Daytona but would be curious to one day.
Best time is either the duel race which is qualifying races for the Daytona 500 or the 500 itself or even the coke zero sugar 400 in August which is last race of regular season usually can get tickets for general admission to the duel race bout $60 and there are some free parking spots the 500 starts bout $100 and goes up 400 starts bout 70 maybe little less goes up

I love this. Ive never been into Formula 1 until just recently when i watched the movie Gran Truism. It was very exciting. Then i saw this vlog and now Formula 1 is on my bucket list to do.
I've never been to any formula one events...just a drag race (mostly because the Hooters jet car was running and the girls I knew at Hooters talked me into going) and a NASCAR race....and not into Green Day....but they got my attention with Rock and Roll All Nite.....I love live music
I was too close to the jet car when it took off.....it was louder than anything I'd been around.....I was convinced my ears were bleeding, hair was on fire and my clothes were gone

I don't remember there being Formula One races, might have been, but this reminds me of the old Riverside International Raceway near my old home town of Riverside, CA! There were various activities but I don't think it was to this extent! Hope you had fun. The Riverside Raceway is now the Moreno Valley Mall and surrounding vicinity. Blah! Thanks for the video!

Hi Jackie and Sam. Thank you for taking us to the races. My top 2 Drivers are #1 Lance Stroll 🇨🇦 and #2 Lewis Hamilton 🇬🇧. I missed the race because I was watching the NASCAR race in Miami Homestead. NASCAR was at COTA a few months ago. Hope still have your hearing. Keep on having Fun and on to the next Adventure.
Hey guys great video as usual. There is a racing experience coming up that may never happen again and will sell out soon because Dale Jr is racing in it. I promise you will get great content and have the time of your lives. I know you are not a racing channel lol, but I promise this is something you should not miss and will get a nice view count. Check out the South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway and if you do go, buy now because of JR tickets will go quick. Check out the North Wilkesboro race to get an idea of the fun. If you guys go I will buy one of the tickets since I have to DJ a wedding and can not go. And can try to get you in the pits if any of our local drivers race there, but will Dale Jr there, it tends to be more press taking up space. :)
Quite frankly, I never understood the appeal of car racing... Watching a car go round and around a track? My mouth dropped when I discovered just last year that they go 500 miles in the Indy 500... Hence the 500 apparently. Duh! Lol! I still don't understand it and I honestly didn't think I'd watch the entire 50 minutes of your video, but I did, and in one sitting! I love the atmosphere of being surrounded by people who are passionate and excited about something they love. You can't help but get caught up in it, and I felt like I was experiencing it vicariously through you..... especially when you got lost making your way back from the beer garden. OMG, that must've been briefly terrifying. 😳 Still looks like a blast, esp taking over the track at the end. It's probably not going to be put on my bucket list anytime soon, but I sure enjoyed going there with you via vlog!

Enjoyed watching y'all's F1 weekend! Looks like fun times were had. We live 19 miles East of COTA and attend MotoGP (F1 of motorcycle racing) each Spring. Boy, that Ferris Wheel certainly moves fast.😄 Hope y'all had a great time here in Texas and were able to see more of Texas than F1 and Austin. Thanks for sharing your experience. We appreciate y'all.

Very cool! I’m an Austin native (but moved to Ocala, FL in June 2021) but never went to an F1 race…but on race weekends we would have helicopters flying over our riding stable all of the time transporting people from hotels to the track. We could also sometimes hear the races from our property.
Welcome to my home state of Texas. We do everything bigger in Texas!!!! I’ve never been to Formula One racing, I’ve never been to NASCAR. You know me Jackie, there’s a lot of things I have never done. I hope you had a great time in Austin. Austin is such a funky city to be in. It’s so cool. If I didn’t live in Fort Worth I would definitely have an Austin. I hope it wasn’t too hot for you, our humidity is way different from Florida humidity. I love Green Day!!!! You are so lucky to have got to see them live. Honestly I don’t know if I could have done that, there were way too many people there. I can’t deal with that many people. That’s why I love your road trip videos because you do things that I don’t think I can do.

Nice trip. Different views for sure. We've been to the Petit LA Mans a couple of times years ago. It was at Road Atlanta near Chestnut Mountain.
We always went down on track at the winner's circle. We were about 20 feet from announcer and winner! Cool experience.

Never thought i would ever see F1 here. I have been to the Australian GP in Melbourne Australia and i will be going the Sunday in April next Year. Nothing gives you an idea of how fast and how much they push like being at the race. If you think they are loud now, at one point you could not even have a conversation at one point during the race
Yea there were points we couldn’t hear each other at all haha! It was a cool experience and honestly something I never would have done if it hadn’t been for Sam wanting to go and getting us tickets, but something I’m happy to do bc it’s an adventure and something new!

Green Day seem counter intuitive and a contradiction in terms: Green versus Fossil Fuel. That said. I just love Texans. I honestly did not know that A FREAKING FORMULA ONE race was in my state a few weeks ago! 😳 I don't even know the USA hosts Formula One from time to time.
I'm not that into racing events, but that honestly looked like fun.
i was guest of red bull last time i went. the van picks you up at the hotel and drives you right up to the back of the suite. which was in the U.
