Ooo I always love these kinds of videos. It’s really cool to see you reflect on what did and didn’t work for you. Huge congrats on starting your DNF journey. That was a big point of growth for me this past year too. It really led to a better reading experience for me. My fave spread of yours in April. That dear diary page is brilliant!! Awesome 2025 energy with the whole “read what you want, not for content” comment. I am right there with you! I’ve accepted that my channel growth will stagnate with me creating content around my new hobbies as I start to branch out in my personal life. We created the channel for ourselves after all!
Now that I've started my DNF journey, I hope to get even better with it in 2025. Reading what I want and not following a theme might be trickier. I love your hobbies content. You inspired me to pick up a paint by number, which I find super relaxing!
That blood moon journal is gorgeous! I think people always think our journals are more awesome than WE think they are. :D Yours is very cool! I especially like your DNF graveyard; I need to add one of those. I'm over 50, and life is too short.
Thank you! I DO think mine is cool, I just know that it is nothing like the gorgeous ones often seen in other channels. I started DNFing a bit this year, which was a hard step, but life IS too short for books I'm not loving. I plan to continue that into 2025
I've been journalling for 10 years now and as I've gotten older my handwriting has only gotten worse. But that is me, and it's my journal and when I die people can see how my handwriting progressed as I aged. :) One suggestion I have, for your "calendar page" instead of putting in the actual calendar, just put a month title and put in the bookclubs and readathons with a date. It makes it a little easier to see, still works as a year at a glance, but gives you more space. :)
This was a very good tip, but sadly, I had already made my year at a glance page in my 2025 journal! Not sure WHY I felt the need to have the whole calendar there, but I kept that and made more space with dutch doors. I will probably use your suggestion in the future!
Im glad i found you because all i read is horror! Maybe a thriller here or there but I find more enjoyment from Horror! Its basically all I watch when it comes to movies too! Did you grow up in the 90s? I only ask because i feel like those of us who did grew up on all things spooky lol
yep, I grew up in the 80s/90s! I think we were built different then and are fascinated by darker things. I def. read more horror than I watch it nowadays. Happy you stumbled into my channel! I hope you find some great horror books this way!

Rather than the book bracket, you could try the book matrix (jashii corrin reading journal video), which gives you a better idea of how your favourite books actually fall in order. You can even pick your contenders from just your five star reads, since it’s not tied to months, and the matrix can be used for any number of books
arrrgh! I KNEW I saw this in a video last year and then I couldn't find it when I was working on my 2025 journal so I made it the same. I could glue those pages together and try this though, so thanks! Jashii has so many amazing ideas
So I'm not sure if you're interested in a horror/romance series, but the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter books by Laurell K. Hamilton fit those categories (starts more paranormal horror then grows into the romance genre, it's also Poly as is the author). The main character also loves penguins.
This was my favorite series when I started reading after college! I was obsessed for at least the first 8 books and I NEVER hear anyone talk about this! Oh yeah! Anita had a little stuffed penguin, I forgot about that. This comment made my day :) Might have to revisit this series
