2005 was a better story. The Pacing in 2015 was, and continues to be ridiculously slow, and the way that they wrote it out, with Helena telling Jason and then telling him to forget, with him having memory flashes of Sam and Robin and not being able to kill Sam, and then seemingly forgetting all of that and jumping into a life with Liz. It just seemed like the show was focusing so much on his life without his memories and spent very little time having him try to search for his old life. Only now is he starting to open himself up to the idea of reconnecting with his memories and life with Sam, Sonny, Carly etc. In 2005 he never left that world, he just floundered a little in it for a while. There was much more action in 2005 than in 2015 because in 2015 they had Jason settle with Liz in her safe little home and he was far away from his old life. Being with Sam and Sonny and Carly in the Penthouse, being around familiar things made the 2005 storyline much more action packed There was a stronger emotional impact in 2005 than in 2015. In 2005 you got to see how Sam, and all of Jason's other loved ones stayed by his side. You got to see how much Jason was loved, memories or no memories, and it has been a testament to his relationships on the show that these characters that he fell in love with as Jason 2.0 would stick by him memories or no memories, unlike the Quartermaines who were ashamed of the life choices he made after he lost his memories the first time around. This arch showed how much he was loved, and gave him something to fight for. In 2015 being largely isolated from these loving characters and set against a very non-Jason backdrop, we didn't get to see that same connection. And in April when Elizabeth found out the truth and kept it from him, it only served the purpose of demonstrating how Elizabeth loved Jason for what she could make him be, Sam, Carly and Sonny loved Jason for what he was and is, no conditions. I know you asked for non-couple comments, but Jason's growth as a character and his stories have been linked to his relationships, romantic and platonic alike, so it's kind of impossible to comment on the 2005 plot vs 2015 plot without commentary on the ways in which those two plots impacted Jason's relationships or revealed something about those relationships
LetYourLiteShine I agree 100% Liz never loved Jason Morgan she loved the man who she wanted him to be she thought she could change him & mold him into somebody he wasn't to fit into her "perfect little world" I think BM was better fitted for Liz bc he was the total opposite of SB Jason even though he was better fitted for Liz. I'm glad ppl believed he was Jason bc nothing gives me more pleasant then to see Jason loving & wanting Sam over Liz.
2005 story was much better. It's insulting for Sam to have Jason drawn to his ex and wanting a relationship instead of him being neutral. They should have had him stay over the floating rib or at Kelly's. In 2005 Jason never remembered Liz. He remembered Robin, Courtney, Sam and Carly. It's also strange that they have him dreaming and remembering Sam but he is still going after Liz, he made the choice to be with Sam when their whole first year of marriage was trashed. I don't like that he doesn't question or have faith in his instincts and not wonder what kind of job he had before in the '15 s/l. It doesn't make sense that he isn't questioning things more or that he isn't searching for answers. It would have been better if Monica wound up taking him home with Michael living in the house. I love Jason and Sam but she doesn't deserve the whole Liz triangle again and neither does Liz. Sam and Danny deserve to be first like in the '05 s/l. Even the whole Alexis/Julian s/l doesn't make sense when Alexis was so hell bent on keeping her family away from Sonny and Jason who was trying to protect them while Julian leaves them wide open for attack. It's funny that Alexis hasn't been a target yet if Luke wasn't himself, you would expect them to go after Alexis instead of Julian's kids he just met.
I need Jason and Sam back together like now! I wish they would have made him having a flash back of Sam right here..GH need to stop trying to push Liz and Jason together..they are better off just as friends.
There is no comparison Liz and Jason are gross. I hate how the writers even put Liz into this situation. I know you said keep the ships out but the tipping point is the reaction of the women. Sam reassures him by knowing what he's capable of and saying it's not all bad Liz tries to pass it off as an accident and works to convince him not to listen to his instincts 2005 WINS HANDS DOWN!!!
