I had a dance performance last night and people kept asking me if I was going to take my mask of while onstage (it was optional) but I made it very clear that I was going to keep it on because my hope was that if people in the audience saw that I was wearing a mask, they would realise that it’s okay for them to wear one too.

@@kali3828 tf do you mean by insecure? I just don’t want to catch/spread covid. I literally haven’t gotten sick for 3+ years now, and that’s not by accident. Masks have been proven to reduce transmission rates, but it’s only really effective in the long run if everyone is wearing them.
@@NatLeRat I would argue that the lack of facial feedback from wearing masks has more of a negative effect in the health of school age children than reducing the chance of catching a disease that can not kill you.

Creative Writing Prompt 88: I mentioned briefly yesterday how tension drives stories forward. Honestly I could write a year's worth of prompts centered around utilizing tension, but that'll be a later problem. For now I want you to think of a story as a series of strings tangling together over its course. Every time you add a conflicting interest, you introduce a new string. That string will inevitably cross and tangle with the others-at least some of the others-and it's your job as a storyteller to keep track of all those different elements. You must consider how this character's interests interact with others' over the course of the story. How does this character react to news? How do they play their hand in the story? When do they act, when do they react?
Most importantly for today: how does the tension resolve itself. If you tell your audience that there's a new string, you've got to do something with it. When you're done with it, you have to tie it off and tell them that story element has concluded. It may be tragic or fulfilling, it may be impotent or cathartic, it may be wholesome or bittersweet. Invincible, the Amazon series, does a really good job of bringing conflict to a close as it is relevant to the season's storyline but then flashes back through them in its ending sequence to say “no these are still unresolved conflicts.” The Inheritance series (Paolini) ends in a disappointing way, but that makes sense for the story it's trying to tell. The end of Dragonball (Toriyama) tells us that the adventure never ends, but even that is a kind of resolution.
Fiction: Bring about a resolution to conflict. This can be in a piece you have worked on previously, it can be fanfiction, it can be the love triangle I made you write yesterday. Just bring an element of the story to a close and let the story acknowledge it.

If you live somewhere moss can grow, things you can forage probably grow there too! A very common one is dandelions, which grow basically everywhere and can be eaten in a bunch of different ways

I rarely comment on here (I’ll sometimes reply but barely post my own comments) so recently I thought of starting to leave occasional friendly/positive comments for people. I know I said I disliked them a while back but I feel like I’ve had a change of heart- if I’m going to comment more frequently why not try and be a positive influence for somebody? I’m not completely sure on this idea so let me know what you guys think in the replies
I think it's wonderful when people do this. Being on the internet, I always expect the most negative mf's to always be right there with the loudest opinion. But sometimes there's others that go out of their way for something positive, and for me it's just a little reminder that not everyone is like that. They're just loud.

i think it’s okay! if you collect them, then you can have a more diverse collection :) that video was talking more about the dolls/figurines that are caricatures of black people like large, red mouths, very dark skin, wide eyes. if that’s not what you have, then there’s no problem :) there are plenty of pictures online if you search “golliwog” which is the name for something like that if you want to make sure!!
