  • Impulse shopping is a one of the few bad habits I picked up after getting my first job. It's a burden I carried with me for many years, until I finally took a hard look at my finances. Since then I've developed a couple key habits for fighting the urge to buy things that I don't need. And today I'm excited to share the 5 ways I avoid impulse shopping.

Also, take those shopping sites out of your browser's bookmarks! Less triggering. PS - so happy to watch your videos before you get to the "today's video is sponsored by..." level of success... which is FOR SURE coming for you!! Keep up the good work!

That's something I've been working on over the past couple weeks - cleaning up all my bookmarks and try to remove temptations from there! I removed a ton of "wish list" bookmarks - crazy how those add up quick and tempt you at every click.

Good thoughts, Drew. Thank you. As a retired teacher, I am learning that I simply can't buy everything I want.
One thing that has helped me is actually revisiting things I already own. Too often, I forget I may have something buried in my closet that will satisfy the "itch" of getting something new.
It's rediscovery, if you will. So I find something new and think, "Whoa... this is pretty cool. I want to play with it a bit."
Unrelated - do you use a teleprompter? You're very articulate in your speaking and I was just curious if you use a teleprompter, as it's something I've been considering.
Thanks again for the video. Looking forward to the next one.

Such a great perspective, Ted! Finding something you forgot about is always invigorating and definitely scratches that itch for me. As for your teleprompter question, nope! I do script out my videos but I just do multiple takes until I get it right! Voiceovers are read word for word though :)

What's something you impulse bought? For me, it's multiple sweatshirts and coffee equipment, for sure. Keen to hear your thoughts!
