I am watching again for chicken number2. Thank you. Your methods make the chicken look "right" in my eyes.

Thank you very much for the great tutorial. I watched the tutorial last night and then followed along to finish my chicken tonight.

That's exactly how I sewed my chickens together. Mattress stitch, and fudge the tail as best as you can. 😊 Love how yours turned out!

I love how it looks rough around the edges at the start, and then looks so great when done. It's a fun project!

Your seams are so nice and neat. My chickens are not so neatly done, but they are loved. Thank you for the video.

Thanks for the great tutorial! I make crochet amigurumi, but The Chicken is my first foray into knitted stuffies. Seaming knitted garments is not my favorite task, so I really appreciate your tips and tricks, and that you shared your reasoning as you made each stitch decision. Maybe if I make a chicken or two, I'll finally get courageous enough to make a pieced sweater 😂

If you get the chance I highly recommend a finishing class there they do a variety of seams. It was a game changer for me. I think sweaters are actually easier to seam, lol. But I’ve done a lot of those over the years. The chicken is a great low stakes way to practice. 😁

Thank youfor this video. My first chicken seams looked frankenstein-ish. I did my second chicken following you and I am much happier with it!!!

I do what you do with seaming but I always feel it does not look good enough

I've had lots of practice, but I feel like I got so much better after an in person course, highly recommend it.

This video was extremely helpful. Unfortunately i finished my first chicken then found your video right after. Right at the very end you went off camera . I sat thru the whole video was that was the only disappointing thing I have to say. Im a visual learner and need to see everything. And it was crucial to me to see the part I missed. Your work is very nice. It appeared to me you didnt stuff the feather’s much. Are they not supposed to be or just your choice. I do amigurumi and the only tip I received once was when stuffing to pull the stuffing into tiny bits then stuff. Thank you for making this video. I just might try to make another chicken now.🐔. The only thing when I sewed up mine was sewing to close to the edge where you go in a bit more. I thought I had to do it like that but your seam was so much better than mine.

I'll record that part again on this next chicken, but it may have to wait until I get back from Reno next week, I've set up a better method for keeping things on screen now. As far as the feathers, that was just what I did, I'm really inexperienced in making softies, I'm thinking I could have stuffed it more and will experiment with a bit more on the next one. I'll try the tiny bits approach you mention too. I definitely like going in one full stitch column when seaming, just did a sweater with seams and did the same on it too. Thanks for the feedback and suggestions!

I make toys and yes, I think it needs more stuffing, especially round the breast area LOL. I'm in the middle of my first ESC.

Went without one because my actual chicken doesn't have one, and she has what's called a pea comb - which I think I will make one up to attach soon. :)

    Bonjour
J'aimerais bcp faire ces poules mais en traduisant sur Google, l'anglais en français ça ne me donne pas une bonne traduction.. Je comprends rien.
Savez vous qui l'aurait traduit en français
    Merci beaucoup

I would try contacting the folks at theknittingtreela.com/ where the pattern originated, see if they might be able to help with a translation. I know some German, but very little French, so I don't think I'd be able help much. Hope this helps! (I used google translate to ready your comment.)
