I remember when a box of .22 was .50 ...All we had back then were Winchester, Federal and Remington and I think Sears and Western Auto .No CCI or other Gucci ammo.
I harvested a shit load of animals as we had a shit load of mouths to feed,.22 were cost effective or CHEAP as my wife calls my old ass.

My wife and I are avid rimfire shooters. While we have experimented with many, many types of ammo, and we have a "best" for each of our firearms, we have settled on CCI Standard Velocity for most of our shooting with rifles.
For our handguns, a High Standard Supermatic Citation and a Ruger MKIV Target, we use Norma TAC-22. The Norma gives outstanding reliability in semi-auto pistols and excellent accuracy.
Both of those rounds give us 90-95% of accuracy potential from our rifles at very reasonable prices.
That rifle shoots almost anything pretty good. Even the "bad" groups weren't really that bad. The armscor was a pleasant surprise. The federal didn't surprise me at all. I was doing some long range 22lr earlier this week 250 and 310 yards on steel. My Anschutz and CZ both generally shoot SK pretty well, not that day. My current lot of SK standard plus seems wildly inconsistent and of abnormally low velocity. Possibly sub 980fps (will chrono to verify) but could not establish a reliable hold or impact point on 12" plates. Went back to Norma/RWS and Eley Club, no issues. Consistent enough to make regular impacts. Oh well, they can't all be winners. Thankfully it was largely a wind less day. Can't say the same for yesterday when Helene came in jacking shit up. Keep up the entertaining vids. Btw, only high class professional daters can afford the brand mountain dew. Usually they're carrying mountain holler or Dr thunder.

Surprised that the CCI and Federal groups were identically shaped, just slightly different offset to the bullseye.

I buy into the more expensive ammo sometimes, but I can literally take my old Marlin Model 60 out with bulk ammo and shoot .50" groups all day long when I have to try really hard with the right ammo to shoot that kind of groups with match ammo and an expensive setup.

That SK Pistol match group is a PERFECT example of why you shpuld shoot at least one bore seasoning group when switching ammo brands or bullet lube types. You went from Phillipino Armscort ammo to the SK . After the first shot landed to the left, the Sk settled down and the last 4 rounds were a one hole group.

Since I've only ever bench rest shot w/ modded 10/22s, I found CCI to work best w/ them..
Fed Reds if I just want em' to barf out inconsistent rounds, but, still good for plinking the 350 yd plate at our club/range! 😁👍

I had the exact same result with RWS rifle match yesterday out of a Bergara b-14r.... 4 in one hole and 1 flyer in another dimension

That special match is some of the best ammo i have seen. I am sick i bought a bunch of ultra instead of spending on special match. You didnt have to be so hard on Pam her hair is growing back.
