    Sometimes brokers will lie about the length and weight sometimes.
    I’m getting into the business here soon for Hot Shot. Learning good stuff from ya!

    When it comes to detention pay and stuff like that you as the carrier have to establish what it is and you do that in the rate con. Don't just sign the rate con that they send you unless you agree with what it says. Most people just sign it then later on get upset because the broker doesn't want to pay out but rate con says no detention pay or has a low rate on detention pay. Make broker adjust rate con to your rates before yall both sign it. That's how you get your tarp fees and a fair detention or layover fee

      Correct but brokers will still try to bypass not paying. Even doing the things you mentioned. Not all but some. Been there done it.

    about to start hotshot trucking is it still profitable in 2023?

    • @JBTRUCKN
      @JBTRUCKN  Год назад +3

      It can be yes. But be sure to do your research, try to keep overhead as low as possible, learn the Market, learn how to dispatch, negotiate rates, no cheap freight, and hustle hard. Know your worth.
