    I've got for three different camelias for my back garden:- lady campbell, williamsii Debbie and brushfields yellow. Those in your video look beautiful!

      Wow… thanks so much for sharing! I just googled brushfields yellow camellia and found that they’re creamy white/yellow color… so beautiful! I’ve never seen yellow camellias before and now I want one!

      @@Linasgardens I'm unsure if the brushfields yellow is as hardy as other ones, although I've noticed that most of them seem to be affected by late frosts. That's why there has been a stocking issues recently. I'm hoping planting mine now will give them a good enough start that they'll be big enough come winter (and well established). Can you get hold of those where you are?

      I have not seen any of the ones you mentioned. I was at Lowe’s the other day and saw Tom Knudsen. In the past I’ve seen Yultide, Debutante, Shishi Gashira and another white variety whose name I forget now. Yeah mine are prone to frost damage too. I baby them a bit because I absolutely adore the flowers and I hate to lose them to the weather. Good luck with your camellias! I hope they get well established and bring you much joy this winter 😊🌸🌿

    Camellias are amazing plants. I love watching the buds grow and transform with colour, so much to look forward to. Suggestion, to tip your plants, they are slightly lanky and tipping can create a fuller tree.

      Me too. Watching camellia buds grow and open is the most exciting thing in winter for me. And thank you for the advice! Will sure do that.

    Beautiful collection 🌸💕 Would you say they’re slow growers or have they stretched for you? Thank you.

      Hi, I’d say these are slow to medium growing. But then again, because I have them in containers, I think the roots might not spread as quickly as they would in ground? They have grown a good 1-2 feet though in a year. I’m actually planning to do an update video on these guys soon. They’re coming into bloom right about now 😍 I’m so happy

      I hope your camellias bloom soon. I have two camellias that are late-blooming so they haven’t bloomed yet either but all the buds are super swollen so I know I’ll get to enjoy them any time now :)

    Wow i did know about these beautiful flowers they just as pretty as roses but too bad i live in zone 4. Its too cold for this beauty

    • @Linasgardens
      @Linasgardens  2 года назад

      Yes they are like the rose of winter 🥰 I’m not sure if you can grow them as container plant and overwinter indoors in zone 4. I do that with my hibiscus tree but it is a bit of a task each time.

    Can yu tell me what u used in potting mix

    • @Linasgardens
      @Linasgardens  2 года назад +2

      I used Miracle Gro potting mix (moisture control) although I’m not sure if moisture control is any better than the regular kind. Then I added a small handful of soil acidifier. They love acid soil. I fertilize once in the spring with rhododendron and azalea fertilizers. These are all acid-loving plants. If you’d like more detailed information, here’s the link to American Camellia Society. They have all the useful info.

      Some gardener friends have suggested I repot (or pot up) every few years which I absolutely agree and will do. I’m not sure about potting up to bigger containers because I like my camellias to stay small and manageable but changing out soil is necessary in my opinion. Hope this helps :)

    Something strange with this video, it auto translates the subtitles to Korean instead of English and when I select English it doesn't generate the proper text to match your spoken words. It's the first of your videos I've come across that is exhibiting this odd behaviour. I'm curious if the Korean subtitles are accurate.

      I'm thinking in your video settings on the backend for this video you must've selected that the video was spoken in Korean instead of in English.

      Hmm that’s weird. I’ll try to fix it.
