  • Your Best Image, Is Your Last Image - Bluebell Woodland Photography Composition Walkthrough
During my last outing, I captured some of my best Landscape Photographs, and the secret is surprisingly simple. I let go of all pressure and expectations. Free your creative energy from judgement and restrictions. We often box ourselves in without even realizing it. Over the past 12 months, I've been vlogging on RUclips more consistently, but there's a catch. Every trip feels like it must be filmed. Filming consumes time and energy, eating into the precious free moments I have in the evenings. Don't get me wrong, I love creating, but where do you draw the line when creation invades the limited time meant for yourself? When planning videos I feel the pressure to nail every shot and produce favorable images. I frequently cut out b-roll and hide compositions that might make me seem less skilled. But what do people truly learn if you overly control your content? Being open and authentic has unlocked new perspectives and improved my photography without me even realizing it. I am now more conscious and deliberate in the field, thinking more deeply about each shot because it's all being captured in one take. Join me tonight for my next first-person vlog as I explore the enchanting bluebells in Wales.

I like the shot with the log, it actually leads your eye together with the path.

Hello my friend what a delightful adventure!!! I'm sorry you dropped your camera!!! It looks okay! The photos, poetry, and baby sounds were a true delight!!! I wish we had bluebells here! The mist was so amazing! It's very unusual for us to get mist or fog here on Gulf of Mexico coast of Florida!!! I can't wait for your next video!

Wonderful walk Suzannah. I trust the R5 is okay, they are very robust and designed to take these knocks quite easily. The mist makes all the difference to a woodland image, you've captured some beautiful shots on this walk. 🙏

What a magical place! And some lovely compositions.
On the subject of learning bird songs, there's loads of websites you can find, and also you can get CD's with bird songs on. That's how I learned anyway. 😊😊

Another fantastic video Suzannah. I am jealous of your local woodland, there is so much moodiness and vibrancy all around it seems that would give a rich choice of compositions.
I think the most challenging part is using the fallen trees as a proper and aesthetically pleasing focal point in the composition because there is definitely a story there to be told with their demise and how it seems other trees are holding parts of them up a if in mourning or something... Idk, just my imagination running wild when I saw those. Thanks for sharing the magic.

Beautiful woodland and images. You must be grateful having this forest close to you. Very impressed you can do this so well with your son on your back.

Wow... stunning location and stunning conditions. Would have loved to walk there... You are right, mornings are the best time to be in the woods. Great tips for compositions; i was wondering, do you also play with camera height? I learned it can make a difference as well. But maybe not so easy while carrying your son ;-)

Very nice video. Bit of constructive criticism. Your bluebells look a little too purple to my eye and your greens a little yellow. The video colours look more natural to me than the photos. Adjusting your white balance and the hue and saturation on blues and yellows in post processing can correct the colours.

Suzannah, your buy a cuppa doesn't work. I just bought a cup for another photographer so I know how it works. I've tried twice on your site and it doesn't work so you might want to look at it. Thanks for a wonderful video.
