Up until about a week ago, daytime temps were up in the 70's and I was wearing shorts, flip-flops and was thinking about stripping down one of our Jeep JK Wranglers. Of course, just when I was sure that winter was finally over, mother nature had a way of reminding me of where I lived and up here in Northern Nevada, things can have a way of changing dramatically and all overnight. After waking up at the crack of dawn to a blanket of fresh snow on the ground and snow still coming down, Cindy and I decided to skip a cup of joe, loaded up our Renegade and got out into the white stuff! It was after all a RENEGADE SNOW DAY and we had to get out and lay down some fresh tracks before it all disappeared.
In this short video, you'll get to see our 1.5" Daystar lifted Jeep Renegade Trailhawk running 225/75R16 Cooper STT Pro tires playing in about a foot of fresh powder up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Having rained hard just prior to changing to snow the night before, the ground underneath the white stuff was very slick. Amazingly, the Cooper STT's hooked up great and did a great job of clearing themselves. You will even get to see our Renegade take on a couple of steep snowy hills. One climb was even rutted enough to almost keep us from making the climb. We hope you enjoy the clip.
Just drove my Renegade trail hawk past a few other cars and SUVs that where stuck in the already driven in snow in about a foot or more of snow like i was driving on pavement.... This Jeep is one sick little ride.

@@Harry_Bahlzanya As much as I love my trailhawk, my only issue with it is the lack there of for aftermarket parts that fit the trailhawk series. I've looked high and low. Daystar doesn't offer any last I checked, and just about everywhere else is vacant too. Specifically front bumpers/winches.
@@SilveredRaven keep lookin..im sure i saw a utube video somewhere of an off road front bumper with a whinch stand...plus i doubt trailhalk bumbers wuold differ from the other renegades..

Same here. There have been some videos posted that have made me deeply question the capability of the Renegade which I now attribute to 99% driver inexperience. Going from a beastly LJ down to a Renegade has me concerned, but wayalife has put my fears to rest.
Love my 2017 Renegade Trailhawk, I have done a few mods and have a few more to do yet!
I just got to ride in one of these things at the auto show in town, they took us up a 45(?)° incline, threw it on 2 wheels, a true torture test & the renegade proved itself to be more than just a jeep!

I was considering a Subaru Crosstrek until I watched this video verses the Crosstrek in the snow. The Crosstrek spinning its wheels in level deep snow. The Renegade seems to have a far less problem even climbing in deep snow.....I'm sold.
BAHAHAH you're nuts....subaru has a far superior awd system to this fiat junk...the crosstrek is brutally under powered though

the renegade has all these jeep "easter eggs" all over the jeep itself. little jeep emblems hidden throughout the exterior, interior...and even a "big foot sighting" on the back windshield. i am a JK owner and trying to convince my wife to get a renegade trailhawk, because that's the only jeep she'll drive. i can't wait to hear "Yes", finally lol.

I have one of these and absolutely love the car. And in deep snow and mud off-road it works perfectly and climbs as well as my ATV

Jealous of the snow wheeling. We went up to Tennessee back on Valentines weekend to show my 5 year daughter some snow. I ended up getting the flu instead. It was a bummer with no snow too. Just missed it.

We have a 2017 Cherokee Trailhawk, we live in Wyoming, going down down the interstate in snow & ice; no problem. Just dial to snow mode!
My local dealer wants $ 32,300 U.S.D. for that with no off-tires or off-road rims and no roof-basket. I noticed that if you break the plastic-hood-latch, you are going to have to destroy the hood to get it off. The gas tank lid closing mechanism is so cheap plastic that it is likely to break after a couple of fill-ups by anyone with coarse hands.
Wouldn't mind THOSE tires on MY Trailhawk
These videos are making me hope they take my 2010 jeep liberty sport in as a trade tomorrow. The place I'm going to has a 2015 renegade trail hawk, and it's super nice looking. Yeah it's smaller than my liberty. But my liberty is getting old, and starting to have more problems than I wanna deal with right now. Plus I want something newer with a radio that will actually hook up to my phone. 😂

I don't know how much power you need... once it gets out of the 13 gears it has it has enough power
lol i rented this before as i went to pass a semi and well it first couldnt find a gear then it did and took forever to pass it seemed now same road with my jeep cherokee xj it felt i passed a semi so much quicker .... weird lol its only 10 hp less (most likely even less with 300k miles) but it did it with no problem

I have a 2015Jeep Renegade. Got it back in the shop after close to 3 months for a so simple radiator fan issues. 5 to 6 weeks to get the parts from Italy and it took 11 weeks before i got it back. No loaner car given either. Once a month, i would hear a loud thug when pressing the gas pedal after a dead stop. Trans slippage i guess. Anyway at least FCA is reimbursing me for the 3 month payments. I am dunbfounded that after 3 or 4 years that this Jeep is out, that they do not have a radiator fan stock inside a warehouse here in America. C'mon FCA. 5 to 6 weeks waiting time for a radiator fan.
In Europe "Jeep Renegade Trailhawk" have diesel engine and nine-speed
automatic gearbox ! 2.0 MJET 170hp TRAILHAWK ,9AT / 4x4 LOW. This is a
2.0 liter Fiat turbo diesel engine ! This is probably a pretty good
version! Not Trailhawk version has also a 2.0 Fiat diesel engine, but
140hp! It probably will not move so well as Trailhawk 2,0 / 170 hp
versioon.Obviously it depends on the Differential gear ratios too.
Trailhawk version has a higher ground clearance than a just renegade!

Regarding your side door decals, on the 24" pair of decals that says "Wayalife", it says below it "More Than A Jeep", but on the 54" pair of decals, it only says "Wayalife", does it also say "More Than A Jeep" as well? I have emailed Wayalife about 2 weeks ago, and I haven't received an email yet regarding the two types of decals. I would like a clarification because I would like to buy the 54" decals for my doors on my 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk.
If they only had the two speed transfer case and a V6 option!

Eddie, Cindy, do you guys have video of putting your mods on your Renegade? I’ve done some (but not a lot) of looking through and haven’t found much on your Renegade.
Mine is absolutely terrible and just spins in the snow and gets stuck?
Did the lift and tires change the way it handles on the road much? (In terms of gas mileage and making it more rough) Also, does it have spacers on it?
Yes, I had to run spacers in order to make this setup work. Lift changed nothing but the bigger mud terrain tires did effect MPG.
Does it ride rough on the road?
Not sure why it'd ride any different being that you're still running the same coils and shocks. Depending on what tires you go with (ie - load range E versus load range C), you might feel them a bit. Also, mud terrains are a LOT louder than all terrains or street tires. You should be aware of that.
Wayalife I like your setup a lot but I might do it with all terrain tires (have some extra off road tread but not too obnoxious on the road). Any recommendations?
BFG All Terrains are a good choice and come in sizes that will fit factory wheels.
Awesome video!!! Would look meaner with wheel-spacers and 255/75R16 tires on it. 225's look like wagon-wheels.. Still great camera work and editing :)
If you had the trac off you wouldn't have got stuck on the hill.. It applies the breaks and stopped you, if that were mud you wouldn't have got out, watched so many videos of guys getting stuck or not being able to crawl over a rock saying it doesn't have the power, it would if you hold down the trac button for long enough to shut it right off..
+long dong Silly me. I'm new to all this and have no idea how to drive off road. It's so cool how you're able to know how steep the hill was or what the rutted out muddy ground underneath the snow was like just by looking at the video. Never mind that two of the four tires were spinning.
I have this vechile and it does like in the video but got stuck in low snow where all 4 wheels spin on a plowed rd and all the computer controlled stuff won't let you gas the vechile to much I wasn't happy how it did

Have you guys noticed the howl with the tires? Got some on my WK2 Grand Cherokee and so far are great traction in snow and ice
+pbaldwin18 LOL!! Considering our Renegade came with street tires, yes, we do hear a bit of lug thumping especially at about 30 MPH.

Just goes to show that if you can lift it and have better tires it will go just about anywhere. I saw a vid of some guy who has a smart car with an atv suspension and atv tires.

the title says trailhawk, and the badge is above the font wheel close to the side mirrors. In which case all trailhawks are a 2.4.

It's a Daystar 1.5" lift and the tires are 225/75R16 Cooper Discoverer STT mounted on Chevy HHR wheels. You do need to run 1.25" wheel spacers to make it work though.

No, you're looking at 1.5" of lift and slightly bigger tires.
What kind of tires are u using for winter off-road? I am living in Canada and expecting to face some deep snow, but not for heavy rock off road. BTW all the jeep renegade video u guys made are awesome, wanted to get one as soon as possible!
