In all the years I was renting a 22, I didn't do many "normal" approaches.
It was either back it off to just about ETL and ride the vibration down at 150-200fpm coming straight in, or dump the collective and do a nice quiet 180 from downwind at about 40kts, then tap the brakes and finish with an airtaxi to the pad.
    Good times :-)

It was a little confusing on down wind you said you where at 500 feet AGL then on base and final you went to 1100feet and 1200 feet, I guessing the airport is appx 700 feet above sea level ???

Why a left pattern? Why not a Right pattern?

At that particular airport we could do left or right. Yes helicopters normally do right. However we practice with both left and right. There was no traffic that day so we chose left, that's it!
