Great stuff, and excellent advice about practicing the square pattern with all the pick ups and set downs. Love it!

Had about 200 hours when I got in a 44 for the first time. Took about 50 hours to stop rocking it a bit in the hover due to those damn (practically zero feedback) hydraulics.
Did my last BFR in an R44 Cadet. First time in one of those. Glass cockpit, air conditioning, really nice chopper.

Not just students! I’m a current PPL(H) and still devour stuff like this, especially as it’s so well done.

Good video and getting back to the basics! I will definitely incorporate the landing before turning 90 degrees into my student’s Square Pattern work. Gavin can make any student feel comfortable flying the R44!

in Abbotsford we have a figure 8 which is really fun to go around in circles at very low altitudes

for now i just have a flight simulator .... with a Xbox gamepad 😅
and i am a full beginner ! i'm trying to hover and for now, i can't even succeed to keep it stable
but i'm convinced this is a pretty good challenge, to be able to hover and maneuver a helicopter with just the fingers.
