Yo, what's up everyone. I run this channel, and I'm also the one playing in this video. I just wanted to address some of the comments in here (To clarify, I'm not sad, nor upset), so check it out: Am I bad at the game? Probably. But, the game is extremely difficult, plus I was playing on an emulator, PLUS I was using a wireless controller on an LCD screen. This game always had lag to begin with, and it's even worse here. I said this in a reply to another comment, but if you've never played this game before, then go ahead, play the game yourself, and do better. XD I'm not new to rhythm games, dude. But, this was my first time playing through PaRappa, and if you're new, and don't know about how shitty the timing is, you're going to get fucked like I did. Even when you think you've got the timing down, EACH stage is fucked in a completely different way. Anyway, I don't really care if you think I'm bad, it just seems like people have no idea what this game is. Actually, I'm writing this now because someone asked something that nobody else has asked in the past 6 years of this being online, and I think they removed it, so I'ma paste it here; "why wud yu keep showing the fails smfh. I tried not to comment but what is wrong with yu ? did yu not think for one second no one wants to see the fail and try again, one fail is okay but fxck , like ita frustrating to watch this , like yu didnt give it half a thought or maybe thought to edit things out ? I kno its 4 years old but after 4 years nothing clicked like yeah this is annoying to watch" So, this video is actually straight from a Live Stream I did on Twitch ( twitch.tv/Gameoverse ). I was actually using a mic, but nobody told me it wasn't fucking working at the time... Probably for the best either way. The above comment asked an interesting question of why I didn't edit it. Personally, and this kinda goes for a lot of the other content on this channel, I feel like something is lost in the experience when the user doesn't get to see stuff like this. Obviously, if I edited out all the fuck-ups in this video, nobody would know how truly FUCKED this game is (Even if everyone thinks it's my fault and I'm bad, I promise you, play it yourself). Not just for failures, but long load-times, glitches and crashes, anything that would take away from the experience you would get if you actually played the game, I like to leave in. A highlight reel of the best moments don't really show the product in its reality. I honestly didn't think that anyone would watch this video, especially since this is a highly nostalgic PlayStation Classic for many people, there's thousands of videos of this game online already, but here mine is with over 35-thousand views, a decent like/dislike ratio, and hundreds of comments about how bad I am. But there's also homeless people that come inside the restaurant to ask for just a cup for water. Our managers said it's fine for us to give them a small, empty cup for water. Sometimes though, the homeless person will sometimes ask us for a water cup, then go and fill their cup with soda or tea at the drink station in the lobby... 😑

Personally, I’m happy all the mess-ups are on here!! I went into this hoping I’d get to see all of the game, so failed scenes included!! Besides, they’re easy to skip so I never saw the problem. Tysm for keeping this & the comment section up for all these years despite some negative comments.
Well, I can say, the attention to details in this game is incredible. Every stage of rappin' quality brings its own music samples and animations. For example, the first chapter. Good - Master does all the moves by himself, high-tone music. Bad - Master stops doing the moves and just waves his hands, also leaninig on his leg. Low-pitch tones can be heard in the music. Awful - Master gives up and just lays on the ground, and music is a bunch of howls.
Honestly I like this playthrough very much. I think you did a good job, and I didn't mind the fails very much. I think the songs are very rhythmic and catchy, so I didn't mind hearing them over and over myself... Beating this game myself took me 100x the amount of repeats you had to do. I had it myself on my Ouya over emulator. It wasn't laggy, but I am the absolute worst at rhythm. I don't understand and can't match them very well. It took me a solid 12 hours to beat this game, but I felt really accomplished when I did. I really liked the line "crack crack crack the egg into the- EGG" in this playthrough, it made me laugh both last night and today again when I listened. I always crack my eggs into the egg. 10/10
Yea idk why the detection for the beats is so wonky. It happens in Lammy too. It’s not even consistent like I’ll miss two notes but it’ll still count as a success, but I miss one by like .003 seconds and it’s a fail haha. I love these games tho so I don’t mind playing them a lot

I just noticed, when you get to bad, the Music changes to negative and might possibly have it for every Stage: If you get bad or awful on Stage 1: the onion master doesn’t move and instead is on the ground and the music changes negatively. For stage Two: If you get to bad The music changes negative and the car starts wobbling. On stage three if you get bad: The flea market gets messed up and might possibly change the music. In stage four: if you get bad, then the chicken from the kitchen gets mad and moves over to you, if you get awful she gets more angry and her head turns red, and it might possibly affect the music.

Yeah, another thing is it’s hard to play on modern tvs because of a slight delay from the consoles to the tv because they were intended on analog tvs called CRT TV so it’s makes it harder for new tvs to produce the gameplay of the games which causes a slight delay which is unnoticeable on first glance, but become apparent with games like this.
This game is pretty fuckin tight timing wise yeah. Even harder if you're trying to play on higher refresh rate monitors because the game wasn't designed for it. It feels incredibly weird to play.
Um Jammy Lammy was so badass. I remember playing this game with my brother and how we learned all the little nuisances. This back before youtube and guides, it was a great game. One of the first rhythm games that made it mainstream! We love you Parappa ❤

Input lag is very prevalent on lcds but not oleds, you are used to playing on a crt so you notice the added input lag much more.

Yeah, another thing is it’s hard to play on modern tvs because of a slight delay from the consoles to the tv because they were intended on analog tvs called CRT TV so it’s makes it harder for new tvs to produce the gameplay of the games which causes a slight delay which is unnoticeable on first glance, but become apparent with games like this.
This game is pretty fuckin tight timing wise yeah. Even harder if you're trying to play on higher refresh rate monitors because the game wasn't designed for it. It feels incredibly weird to play.
Um Jammy Lammy was so badass. I remember playing this game with my brother and how we learned all the little nuisances. This back before youtube and guides, it was a great game. One of the first rhythm games that made it mainstream! We love you Parappa ❤
