Episode Brief: PaRappa attempts to reconcile two different promises he made to two different friends. First, he told his buddy PJ and PJ's friend Matt that he'd play basketball with them on this particular day, but also told Katie and Sunny that he'd go with them to Sister Gon's garage sale. Things get worse when Paula shows up and angers Katie by questioning her fashion sense. Gaster also further ruins PaRappa's day by stealing his bike and the money from Sister Gon's garage sale.

This anime is amazing, still has the nonsense of the games while adding new things and giving more personality to the characters, which already had a ton! this is a fun trip! glad it's been preserved and anyone can watch it, cause DAM ITS SUPER GOOD!
Katy was usually pretty chill and positive in the games, I wonder why they wrote her to be so uptight and aggressive in certain episodes of the anime.

Watched this entire series with some friends on discord, we can't get enough of Gaster and Groobers goofy dynamic and all the stupid cliche sound effects, it really bonded us closer together. I had to go back to my dads house today, but we finished the whole series the day before, and it was a really sweet farewell treat. We're looking forward to rewatching again next year. TYSM for uploading this dude.

Yeah that's kind of crazy when you think about it. But there are some voice actor in Japan join the industry while they're very young. Example, Miyu Irino - voice actor of Perappa born in 1988 and joined the industry in 1992.

For those feeling "thrown off" by the swears in the subtitles (which by the way are also fooling a lot of people into thinking the series actually swears), the translator took some *really* unnecessary liberties with the subtitles.
For example, Katy's "infamous" line in japanese:
"Nanda no kono onna?"
Which can be translated as:
"Who is this woman? / Who does this woman think she is?"
But for some reason, the translator added some unnecessary swears to it, leaving it as:
"Who the hell does this bitch think she is?!"
So yeah, the original lines don't say stuff like "hell" or "bitch" lol

I honestly don't know why 4kids or Tonami, or some American Broastcasting network never picked up this show for a dub or localization, it probably would have been SOOOO popular due to Parrapa 2 being a big hit in the West.
I guess it was too Japanese for people's taste.
I know this comment is old, but I believe the overall reception that the show got in japan might have played a factor in why it was never dubbed in the U.S. The anime didn't exactly do too well in japan from what I've heard so they probably decided from there that it wasn't worth bringing a dub over.
It would be cool to have a fandub tho. Or an official English dub with the episodes being remastered.

@@HamtaroSonicHedgehog Also adding on to the fact that Sonic X got that chance of being localize but was a similar case of it's popularity being less so in it's native Japan but a hit in North America and Europe (and the fact how season 3/The Metarex Saga was only produced due to a public demand for more of it in the US and having not properly aired in Japan 'til 2020 which is a shame cuz it's the arguably the best saga and a fan favorite amongst the sonic community)
@@JBarista08 Well granted, Sonic has always been a very popular and well-known franchise in the U.S. so it was a given that the anime would receive a dub in the west even if the show itself didn't do all that great in japan, which I am pretty familiar with the anime not doing as well there when compared to western countries.
Plus it's probably not a 100% fair comparison considering the circumstances were probably different since sony was the one responsible for this anime. It also probably didn't help that from what I understand, Um Jammer Lammy and Parappa 2 didn't sell as well as the first game which probably didn't help matters in this anime not getting a dub over here. (Not saying that those games flopped, all I know is that they didn't sell as many copies as the first game did.)
Of course I'm just speculating here so it's hard to say.

I'm looking forward to correcting the subs on the first few episodes. For the most part, they're correct, but there are a few errors. For example, at 3:43, it says that Sunny said, "I'm hoping that you can come," but she actually asked him if he could hold her bags for her.
