      If your interested in starting a business don’t start with debt I did and from 18 years old when I started to almost 30 I was on the hamster wheel of debt also value your time because no one will if you don’t find something to do that’s in high demand that no one does in my case the market was saturated w landscapers which drove down prices to the point of me almost going out of business so I figured there was 3 landscape suppliers in my area so I figured I would sell supplies to them I made enough money in a month to start a bulk materials yard and it has been a better success than I could of ever dreamed of good luck to you and you are already on the right track with wanting to invest your money instead of pissing it away

    I work in my city's public works department and make pretty decent money and amazing benefits. Working here outside of street maintenance they trained me for my CDL and I do a lot of Hauling, rock,salt,dirt,garbage etc...I seen a lot of people at the landfill with dump trailers..and this brought me here. I enjoy driving and moving around town and meeting people. Seems like a good side income for me

    One caution: IF your landfill/dump is like ours, they make you drive out over a few hundred yards of stuff other folks have dumped to dump your load. Problem with that is you drive over 10 zillion things that tires don't like...such as roofing nails/etc....dumped before you. I went to our dump a few times, got one or more flat tires each time. NOW I just pay for a construction dumpster off loaded on site.....cheaper than repairing/buying tires.

    • @Grtruckingdemolitionllc
      @Grtruckingdemolitionllc  4 года назад +2

      Always do, I have over 4 patches on each tire of truck and trailer. Some nails I don’t even remove if it’s not leaking. But it is what it is.

    I do hauling too here in California and sadly here with many regulations big companies are pushing small businesses out of work, plus since the 1800 got junk fever entered here now you can see many many junk haulers that turned the hauling business into a cheap service, the point you were talking about that you have to spend 200 on dumping and 300 profit sadly is a no no anymore for the same reasons.

    • @Grtruckingdemolitionllc

      A long time ago I saw a RUclips video about using a dump trailer and back then I was doing lawn mowing n landscaping with a 1500 GMC . Then I saw about Hot Shot from a guy on RUclips with TP as his business name . He puts a lot of free information based on his success and failures .
      So , because of that I saved and had bought a 2500 Duramax 4x4 and I was planning on doing Hot Shot and then I saw how he later started to rent his truck from Enterprise and how later he bumped up from a single 2500 Ram to the F-3500 dually hauling a 40’ Gooseneck.
      Dude even shows his struggles and now he has several trailers and drivers .
      I guess I might switch gears since I bought a used truck cash and I’ve been fixing her up .
      I’m also learning the headaches of these newer Diesel trucks with fuel problems and having to use DEF .
      Well how’s the Hot Shot driving doing fer ya ?

    Just discovered your channel and there's something I'm not clear on.
    Say a customer pays for a 3 day rental, can they go and dump the trailer themselves or do you prohibit them from moving your trailer?
    Next question.
    Say they have a multiple day rental, they fill the trailer and need it dumped before their rental time is up, do you charge an additional fee how do you address that?
    Great channel, great content!

    • @Grtruckingdemolitionllc
      @Grtruckingdemolitionllc  3 года назад +2

      Oh no, nobody moves my trailer just me. By renting I mean. They can use it to throw whatever trash in it. And I haul it off. If they have the trailer ready before the 3 days I pick it up no additional cost

  • @eddiereyna2998
    @eddiereyna2998 4 года назад

    What brand of trailer and what’s the axles rated at and what type are they ? Are they torsion or spring ?
    Oh and the hydraulic lift is it in the very front or in the middle or scissors ?
    From what I’ve read the front hydraulic lift is supposed to be the best . I noticed that ya loaded more to the back and that ya didn’t really add any towards the front .
    I use to work for a landscaping company and they used the Duramax way back in the day with Gooseneck trailers and we also would load our own materials in their yard and one of the trucks would haul the skid steer .
    Speaking of the steer , what yr make n model is it ?
    I was so used to Bobcats that when I went to work for this company they had John Deere if I’m correct and their steering was way difficult for me to get used to using but after working on a site where they were hauling 18 wheelers full of top soil aka human waste I got the hang of it .
    Wealthy folks were paying top dollar for our shit literally.
    Well , grab a lengua Taco.

    Just curious, what’s your trucks gross combined weight rating?

    • @henryholliday1
      @henryholliday1 4 года назад

      that is my first thought as well as the without a cdl you can't have a trailer weight over 10,000 pounds which can happen real easy with heavy materials like firewood,concrete,demolition debris etc.

    • @jeffersonmoctezuma3733

      I think its 26,000lbs in my state

    • @zackb5244
      @zackb5244 4 года назад

      henry holliday correct, I’m curious because for my truck ( a 09 Gmc duramax 2500) the combined weight rating is 22,000 the truck is 9200 and with the smallest dumpster trailer I can find a (14k GVWR) would put me over the GCWR over 22,000 and I would be illegally overweight unless I de-rate a trailer. A lot of people think as long as you’re not over your “towing capacity” and you’re under the 26,000 required for CDL that they’re doing things right and that’s not the case.

      You trailer is covered. But that does not include the machine. You need cargo insurance to cover the equipment. But most people don’t have it.

    How do you keep your trailer from getting stolen at the job site. And what happens when someone doesn't want to pay?

      I charge first before leaving the trailer, and have a lock that goes on it.

    I just bought a 2020 Ford F150 Ecoboost 3.5L with max trailer package 13,200lbs. Can it tow a dump trailer maybe 4 to 5 times a day for my business. I might go up 2500 SuperDuty once business takes off.

      You should be fine not going very heavy. But 2500 truck with a gooseneck is way better

    In California you pay them, not only that they get green dollars from the Feds and State for recycling old concrete.

      They are around $60/$80k if I’m not mistaken pre owned. Depends also what features you get

    It is easy money if you have the contacts, I will be rich if I had the contacts for everything. I do all type of work, I do have a trailer, but I just need costumers, what should I do, go and knock people at their doors and ask them for job? Anyways, good luck man.
