    Forgot to ask a question about flat tires. I imagine that hauling trailers around construction and/or roofing job sites you can easily pick up a nail or lose a tire or two. How do you account for these expenses?

    • @tomheyde4172

      Trailer tires don’t last as long as normal tires either. 10k-20k miles depending on load is about it.

    • @lnc23
      @lnc23 4 года назад +1

      Get an extra tire and on your free time switch them and take them to a local tire shop. Tell them to plug them from the inside out. They have very good plugs if you plug them depending on the weight and the air pressure they'll come out. Atleast mine did. So I had no choice but to take them to a shop. Plus the trailer with atleast 5-6 tons weights 8-9 tons that's allot of pressure for simple plugs.

    New here.
    Only just found you sir.
    One thing I have observed.
    Do you just dump everything?
    With scrap metal prices on the up and lumber prices going crazy.
    Would it be worth picking the load real quick at the landfill?
    You could be passing money by there

    • @hustlenation4779
      @hustlenation4779  3 года назад

      You make a really good point. For the most part the labor it takes to sort through the load does not justify the amount of money that you would receive by doing that.

      Get as much trailer as you can handle. I bought a 5x10 utility trailer with 2 foot walls just to tow a mower. Now I'm trimming trees and really wished I had a 6x12 or even 14 to be able to reduce the number of trips to the dump. My jobs have been only 10-15 miles from the dump, but its still a solid hour driving to the dump, unloading, and getting back to the job site.

    Thanks Robert! I have a question. I know every state has their own rules but as far as DOT goes, did you have to register with the DOT in your state? Especially when you haul construction? I heard the rule is you can’t weigh or be capable of weighing more than 10,000 lbs. but i don’t know if that 10,000 is for the trailer only or truck and trailer.
