Why do yall call em trainers?
Why do you call them sneakers?
Training is another word for athletics, working out, exercise. Shoes made for training are trainers.
I have no idea why we Americans call them 'sneakers.' They squeak loudly on hardwood floors like gyms often have. Maybe it's an ironic name? They're very loud, so you call them "sneaky." Therefore "sneakers?" Is that possible?
I'm italian and the row of the word "train" (trainers) seems me obvious.
