You are very sensitive and detailed, which is a great thing for a car reviewer. Maybe Hyundai will appreciate reviewers like you who recognize their effort
Not as sensitive as me. Haha, I myself find those lock honks really troublesome to my sensitivity, esp if I’m right in front of it. I love the little subtle beep of say like an Acura MDX.
I'm glad they're continually upgrading their product. But I suspect the changes were in the planning stages long before your previous video. They likely have been hearing the same complaints for some time.
I have the exact same 2018 Elantra as you. I have all the same complaints. I'm glad to see they addressed most of the complaints. I do wish they switched from the horn signal on locking to an electronic beep though. The horn is loud and obnoxious. I just make a point t look at the car when I press the lock button for the light flash confirmation. On another note, ever since buying my beautiful pearl white Elantra, I've noticed a lot of white Hyundais with PEELING PAINT! Sante Fe, Sonata, Elantra. A lady passed me on the interstate in an Elantra identical to mine and I kid you not, nearly half of the paint was gone on the hood. Just bare gray primer. That's worrisome.
The first time I saw the refresh, I thought that someone at Hyundai has a triangle fetish. I will never understand why they would take a good looking sedan and make it fugly!
All the complaints you mentioned are legitimate. If the people who complained about your complaints had actually bought the car, they might feel differently. I live in a warm climate in the lower southeast, but it does get cold sometimes. Having a heater which doesn’t work correctly would give good cause for me to get rid of the vehicle. My CX-9 takes a while to warm up, but not enough to bother me. I cant explain it, but though I’m glad they fixed the things that bothered you, the 2020 model looks like it took a step backward in exterior design.
The preferred model of this car has plasticky and cheap interiors, drivers seating without lumbar support and occupants getting rattled over bumps. Today during a parking maneuver at a very slow speed, I happened to hit a kerb and the plastic bumper cracked like an egg shell, necessitating a complete and an insanely expensive replacement.
Way to go guy's!...I think Hyundai is listening, I am a Hyundai owner & this is not the first time I've heard of changes made by Hyundai to a particular model after complaints!!!!!
So glad to see hyundai improve their products very often. It is absolutely amazing that Kia and Hyundai change even the smallest details. However, thay did not need to change the exterior styling that extensively.👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Just purchased the 2020 Elantra and I'm so glad they have duel Heat/AC I really like that it rides so smooth, love the safety features too My only trivial complaint is I got the liquid metal (grey) I really wish it was a metalic grey, see trivial Lol but I do like my car A lot😉👍💕
Very interesting video Drew. Just shows Hyundai was listening. Better to buy updated versions of a car rather than a brand new model. May be you could get an upgrade to the 2020 model?? Keep up the great work guys :-)
That heater is not new to Hyundai, I have it in my 18 Sonata Sport. I am glad that they finally put it in the Elantra. I understand what you mean about the lock horn in the 18, I had a 17 Elantra and laughed ever time I locked the door.
@@TheJeepWranglerMan023 nice. Do they have Value Editions Hyundai in Australia? The Value Edition of this car in the US has the same wheels as SEL, but sunroof, leather, heated seats, and push button start, and fog lights
I have just bought a 2019 Elantra Limited. I hope the heater doesn't have the same problem as your 2018 Elantra. I have a few dislikes regarding my Elantra already. 1) the ride - at times, the ride can be rough and bumpy, and I'm feeling every minor bump in the road; it's irritatingly jarring. 2) the sun visor - it keeps hitting my head when I swivel it over to the side window. 3) there's no built-in navigation. I was led to believe that it came with the Limited. 4) Android Auto is slow.
My CR-V has a horn that sounds like “MEEP” but it’s much much louder than the Elantra. In fact, an 18 wheeler almost cut us off once, and our CR-V meep meep horn actually made him swerve.
I have that model and the clymate control system went bad the 1st year. And they never figured out what is wrong with it. I have to keep turning it on and off to keep it working. My transmission is already broken. I'm watching your video sitting on the side of the road because my trans went bad and will not move.
Hi Mason 😄 👋, for a 2020 model year, I'm honestly surprised Hyundai did not do a switch blade key fob for the Elantra. It's interesting that a 2019 Accent, Hyundai's entry level car offers a switch blade key fob when an Accent does not have push button start. Hyundai's switch blade key fob looks so much better. I'm with you about the previous horn Mason, and I too am glad that was charged. What's your thoughts on the Elantra Sport with 201hp? I'm thinking it would be fast since it's car small.
The horn sounding at all is annoying. Usually cars have option to turn off. Imagine living next door to someone who’s horn goes off every time the park and lock car?
There was a recall for 2020 elantras on the piston oil ring, I'm buying a used 2020 elantra with only 21000km, they said they will replace the oil rings so do you think it's a good idea to buy it still?
Hyundai should back the driver's power seat and lumbar support for the Value Edition and higher and remote engine start should be optional for the Value Edition and higher, the same thing as the New 2020 Hyundai Palisade SUV?
Lol come on if you think they listen to you think again . They sold 100 drds of thousands, they get as many reviews. They change nothing tell they get a hundred thousand reviews. Fact is there employees decied after driven them . They dont even speak English. Its a long way from korea.
Too bad they ruined the design of a car that was perfectly fine from the get-go. 😫😫😫

They might have fixed your complaints but they ruined the look
Great video always space for improvement companies that listen to customers sell more cars

I totally agree with you.

Great video, glad to see they fixed most of the issues, I think your 2018 exterior looks nicer though. I don’t like the 2020 look.
Yeah...haha
Howdy, awesome video as always! I’m glad they fixed the climate controls!😸😻😸
Nice to see they are addressing some customer complaints. Great video guys!
Yeah we thought it was an interesting coincidence that almost all the things were changed!
You guys are the best!!!!
The first time I saw the refresh, I thought that someone at Hyundai has a triangle fetish. I will never understand why they would take a good looking sedan and make it fugly!
Hyundai apparently took.design chances so that way the car doesn't look bland.

PS: I'm a great Hyundai fan in the UK. I'm on my third one. Interesting you bought a saloon and not an SUV. :-)
Thanks! I'm happy where I am with my '18! And yeah, we buck the trend in America by preferring sedans over crossovers!
You are a really great reviewer. Congrats on all your hard work!
Thanks!

I liked this new style of video!
Yeah just a little something we thought of on the spot 😀
I'm glad your issues were resolved. I certainly wouldn't say it's because they were listening to you, though.
I love the 2020 Elantra. It’s my favorite generation. We had a rental SEL and it was very nice!
Same! I want an SEL as my first car (called the Active trim in Australia)

Youre like real world product testers....ideas for improvement is always good 😀
Would you mind doing a review of the 2020 Subaru Outback (high trim level please) when you have time?
Of course!
Yes, I would love to see a 2020 Outback review, as well. Lower trim levels, though.

My transmission is already broken. I'm watching your video sitting on the side of the road because my trans went bad and will not move.
How is the new CVT transmission? Is it reliable? Thanks!
Only time will tell honestly since this is an all-new transmission for the Hyundai and Kia
Hyundai doesn’t even know you existed
Don't be so mean
Am getting the 2020 Sonata it’s a Beauty
Hyundai should put back the drivers power seat. For the Value Edition and up.
that's weird, I have a 2011 Elantra and the locking uses the regular horn.
Hyundai did not listen to you. Sister Kia did the same on their vehicle line-up

What about the blindspot sensor not turning on under 20mph?
Did the 2018 model have the door chimes that sound like those of VW's and Mazda's?

Did they also change for 2020 BSM activated speed?
That they did not change
There was nothing to fix in the first place. Just get a higher trim level that provides the optional features you desire.
Climate control is really nice. You never know until you have it but once you do, it’s hard to go back to the 4 fan speed manual control
Hyundai came along way with their manufacturing
I think they just updated everything to better compete. Lol
I wonder if the sixth complaint about his model car was that it gave him pimples.
Now if they can fix there motors and peeling paint that would be great
Uhh.? My 2020 Elantra is push to start.
Still running ok?
Nice PJs
The new Elantras look like they gave a 7 year old a sketch pad to draw out the front end of the car.
then you should by a different car I have a 2018 how about the 2.0 using oil that stuff is petty
I love it
Good car...i dont like the look...it’s too boxy...
so your the one who ruined this car..
